I take:
Shaklee mutivitamin w/iron (I eat little to no red meat)
Shaklee vitamin B supplement
Shaklee vitamin C supplement
Magnesium
Calcium
Turmeric
Liquid sublingual B supplement
I was really ill this spring with either mono or H1N1. By the time I got tested, my doc couldn't tell which it was. Whichever, the infection left me completely drained for months. Like, can't find the will to get out of bed drained. I had finally recovered, when I caught another virus/flu last month. Had all kinds of tests run, and didn't learn much, except that my B12 levels are "low normal." So I started taking quality vitamins just to give me a booster of nutrients to help fight off any other bugs that might be floating around. The B supplements are also helping my energy levels tremendously, which has been a huge help in getting back to working out.
I take magnesium b/c it is supposed to help with muscle cramps and migraines (both of which I suffer from). During this last go-round of illness, I also had horribly inflamed joints, esp. in my fingers. I had read that turmeric could help alleviate joint pain, so I tried it. I also drastically cut down on the massive amounts of nightshade veggies I was eating (mainly peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes... LOTS of them). The inflammation is now almost completely gone. Have no idea if it was the supplements, the veggies, or just the passing of the bug.
