Well, I have Bettie Page on my left arm, the Rebel Alliance symbol from Star Wars on my right arm, red and black nautical stars on the inside of my wrists, an ohm on my right forearm, a symbol from a Tulum ruin in Mexico in my left forearm, a fairy with Celtic knotting on my lower back, the Mandarin character for vegetarian with Japanese cherry blossoms on my neck extending about 6" down my spine and a sun/moon on my left shoulder. PHEW! When I right it all down, it seems like a lot!

Farmington JUST leagalized tattooing within city limits, so we have some new shops popping up here and there. I had this guy give me his card when I was at Walgreen's the other day- I think I'll go check out his shop. It's pretty much within walking distance from my house. Wait, everything in Farmington is within walking distance!! HA!

Your food looks really Beachy- and you're holding steady at under 300! Way to go, chica!!

EGADS!!! Piranha! I so wish you hadn't have posted the "attaboy" for staying under 300. As my freakin' scale said 300.0 this am. But I am going to chalk it up to the fact that I ate lunch late yesterday followed shortly by a big dinner that probably had too much salt. Yeah. THAT has got to be it. I am sure tomorrow I will be back down. I swear I have lost the 300 and the 299 pound about a million times since I hit the 298 mark on the 28th. Have to admit it is really starting to piss me off. I wanting to stomp the scale into a million pieces and flush it down the toilet this morning.

Oh, well. On the bright side....today is the last day of my period and instead of the normal 5-7 pounds I usually gain on my cycle it has just been the up and down of the 2. That has to be progress, right?? Also, today I figured out that I can now take my size 28 jeans off and on with out unbuttoning/zipping them. :D Hubby swears that I am losing inches even if the scale is stuck. Maybe he is right.

The people in my life (hubby/friends/coworkers) that have seen my yo-yo in the past keep reminding me that my body also loses weight in spurts. I will hold on to it forever and then drop a bunch all at once. Here is to hoping the dropping phase is about to hit.

Went to the grocery store today. And I have to say that it felt good to be PROUD of what was in the basket. I felt so IN CONTOL. Those of you who read this journal know what a big deal that is for me. Also, wasn't even tempted by carrot cake (one of my favorites) and ice cream at work this week. The smell of the cake actually kinda made me quesy. WHAT??? Who is this pod person? hahahaha.

I am going to try to focus on the NON scale victories for now. Maybe I shouldn't weigh daily, but I am afraid not to. What if I don't weigh for a week and find that I gained 10 pouns instead of just the fluctuating 2? That would be horrible. EEEEKKKKK!!!!

Weight: 300 grrrrr

B: 4 slices of turkey bacon, chedder cheese stick, cherub tomatoes, V8, water
(missed my morning snack because I was too busy at work)
L: salad mix with snap peas/cherub tomatoes/immitation lobster/ranch, 1% milk, water
S: pear, walnuts
I got pretty hungry after this snack. I don't know if it was because I missed my morning snack and had a lighter lunch or if the pear triggered it. I hope it wasn't the pear, but I bought 2 of them so we will see when I try the other one.
S: jicama
Hubby was late getting home from work and I was STARVING, so I snacked again to tide me over.
D: (Furr's) 2 chopped beef patties (again I was HUNGRY) with mushrooms, green beans, pinto beans, turnip greens, salad w/ranch, water
S: 1% milk

Piranha...I LOVE BETTIE PAGE! I would love to have her nurse pose inked someday. I love tattoos. I love looking at other peoples tattoos because it tells a lot about them. You would be so interesting to meet in person! 8)

WELCOME to Emilie!!

I'm so sorry I jinxed you!! The fact that you can pull your pants up and down without unbuttoning them is awesome though! I think focusing on non-weight goals is a great idea. I've always heard that if you measure around your waist and that number decreases, then it always means you're losing fat. Plus, going by how your clothes fit is another way to determine if you're losing. And I'm all for heaving the scale off a cliff when it's being a b@st@rd!!

I have Bettie Page in her pose with the leopard bathing suit and her hands in her hair. It's black and white- very old school!

I am glad as well. I couldn't believe the similarities. Crazyness!! LOL  So week 1 of p1 is down and I lost 6lbs. I was talking to my trainer, and she said I should try sticking to P1 as long as I can since I have so much to loose. What are you doing? Have you reached P2 yet? Hope your having a good day.

Oh, and my tattoos are: 1 big butterfly on my left foot that is colored teal and purple, and a Greatfull Dead Bear that is tie died teal and purple with a butterfly flying out of its hand on my lower right back. I decided that once I hit goal I want to reward myself with getting the Pices symbol tattooed either on the back of my neck or on my shoulder. I also have 13 piercings...all of which in my ear. Hehehe.I have my tregus pierced on both ears. Used to have eyebrow and tongue pierced, but took them out for Nursing.

OK, my friends. It is official. I have some serious SCALE RAGE. That being openly acknowledged, I have decided to stay of of the dream killing machine for a while. This is going to be very hard for me. But I can feel the anxiety building and that never leads to healthy habits. Now I pray to the gods for strength to stay away.

I rationalize it all out in my head and I know that I shouldn't let it get to me, but when I got on this am and it said 300 I almost pitched a fit like a freakin' 2 year old right there in my closet. Seriously, a 34 your old woman should not be tempted to throw herself on the ground in a tantrum. I swear I could hear evil laughter coming from beneath my feet. It is mocking me badly.

Weight: 300

B: 3 slices of turkey bacon, chedder cheese stick, cherub tomatoes, V8
S: peach, string cheese stick
S: 1% milk
L: (Denny's with Hubby :) so nice to get a chance to eat lunch with him. He is so freakin' adorable) Side salad with ranch/no croutons, mushroom swiss burger with no bun, sliced tomatoes, water
S: handful of walnuts
D: salad mix, diced tomatoe, half an avacado (I know a 1/3 is a serving, but figuring out what a 1/3 is felt ridiculous....I just made sure and bought a really small one), snap peas, a little bit of ham (wasn't in the mood for ham), and 2 boiled eggs, water
S: 1% milk

Note: I didn't get near as hungry today after eating the peach as opposed to the pear yesterday. But I ate it in the am and I ate it with cheese instead of nuts. I wonder if either of those made the difference. I know that my hunger valve usually opens in the pm (pre SBD). I think the afternoon may be my slippery slope time. That is always when I used to pig out on crap. Just writing this down so I can look back and compare and figure out a pattern later.

Peace,
B.

I, personally, absolutely LOATHE the scale!! I hate how it can determine whether I have a good day or a bad one. A low number--WOOHOO! I'm walkin' on sunshine! A high number--I feel like I have just been dropped into the bog of eternal stench (Are you diggin' the 80's references?? I'm such a dork!). So, I say toss it out the freakin' window and keep on loving your awesome, beautiful self just as you are. Screw that damn scale.

Well, I did not weigh today and I have to tell you that my attitude was a lot better for it. Piranha, you described me to a T also with the scale=mood insight. I am soooooo like. So I will do myself the favor of staying of the mean spirited machine for a while. And hey.....I loved the 80's. We had the BEST movies and the BEST music back then.

Weight: ???

B: 3 slices turkey bacon, chedder cheese stick, V8, water. Did not feel like eating this morning. Had to force myself to do it. I have always been a skip breakfast kinda girl. Plus we had a tad bit of financial drama at home this am before I left for work and that killed my appetite for sure. Stupid recession.
S: almonds, water
S: jicama, string cheese, 1% milk
Late L: salad greens/imitation lobster/snap peas/cherub tomatoes/ranch, pear, water. I was hungry not too long after I ate lunch. I am leaning towards the opinon that pears are not my friend. :(
D: grilled sirloin, mushrooms sauteed in olive oil, green beans with tomatoes, lima beans. Man, those lima beans were good. :) Hubby won't eat them though. His loss.
S: 1% milk

OK, I am going to go soak in the tub. Today we only had 3 surgeries and it took us till 4 pm. Every case was trying today. Glad it is Friday.

Peace,
B.

I hope tomorrow is a less stressful day. I think it's awesome how you stuck to Beachy food, though. Stress sends me straight to the cookie jar...or the cereal bowl...or to dig out some dusty Halloween candy from like 1988 that's practically fossilized but all I can find at the time!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I swear I find old Halloween candy in every nook and cranny of my house. Man, that made me laugh when i read your post.

So I cheated and weighed today. Jeeez. I swear I am pathetic.

Weight: 299

B: 3 1/2 pieces of turkey bacon (my blue heeler got half a piece), chedder cheese stick, and the other half of my small avocado, V8
S: 1 cup nonfat plain yogurt with blueberries (yum!), water
L: mixed salad greens/imitation lobster/snap peas/ranch, about 4 slices of swiss cheese (I was hungry), water
S: handful of almonds, 1/2 of a REALLY big cucumber sliced with lemon juice and garlic salt (yum!)
D: (Wendy's) taco salad/no dressing/no tortilla strips
S: 1% milk

Went to the drag races today and it was unseasonable cold for my desert. I froze my butt off and me knees hurt from standing still for ever. When we left I was tired, cold and hungry. So I tried to think of one of the least offensive thing I could eat at a drive thru. :?

I did wear a pair of previously VERY snug 26 jeans ALL day today and they didn't make me feel like a ham tied with a string. So that is progress. I was acutually pretty comfy in them all day. :D

Peace,

Finally, progress on the scale.

Weight: 295

B: 3 slices of turkey bacon, cherub tomatoes, chedder cheese stick, V8, 1% milk
S: handful of walnuts, the other half of the really big cucumber with lemon juice and garlic salt, water
L: mixed salad greens/snap peas/bell pepper/diced tomato/imitation lobster/ranch, water
S: NF plain yogurt 1cup/blueberries, water
D: (Furr's) salad/ranch, green beans, black eyed peas, spinach, backed tilapia, and 3/4 of a chopped steak patty, water

I am stuffed so I will probably skip my evening snack.

I'm doing great, thanks for asking! I hope that you are doing well. Good job with walking your dog, and getting the exercise. Things have been hectic the last 3 days because I worked 3 12 hr night shifts, and I know you know how that is.:) Also, on friday right before work I slipped and slammed my back on concrete steps after it rained. OUCH! So i have been pretty sore at work and home, so I haven't gone to the gym. I think the work I did this weekend at work was enough exercise for me.:) Anyway, I am glad you are doing so well on SB. Keep going strong! I know you can do it!!!

Postby brandywine1974 » Tue May 19, 2009 2:33 am

Spent the day doing chores/laundry and errands. All in all, it was a mellow day.

Weight: 295

B: 3 slices of turkey bacon, chedder cheese stick, cherub tomatoes, V8
S: handful of macadamian nuts, jicama, water
L: mixed sald/imitation crab/cheese/snap peas/cherub tomatoes/ranch, water. I was going to make a ham and cheese salad but then I read the package on the diced ham and it had been cured with sugar. So I went with the crab. Crab and cheese are not the best combo, but I had already put the cheese in the salad.
S: 1 cup nf plain yogurt/blackberries/water
S: piece of celery with laughing cow cheese wedge
D: grilled pork loin chops x 2, roasted cherub tomatos (olive oil, salt, pepper, basil) I LOVE THESE!!!, roasted asparagus (olive oil, salt, pepper). HEHEHEHE. I can litarally hear hubby in the bathroom bitching because his pee stinks now. Good ol' asparagus.
S: 1% milk

I had an extra snack today, but I was hungry before dinner and didn't want to be STARVING before it was time to eat.

Peace,
B.

You awesome, hot momma, you!

Hahaha! Thanks, Piranha! I am glad you are back. I was up a pound to 296 today, but I won't blame it on you jinxing me. I ate a lot of salt yesterday and I knew I would be up. But I have to give myself credit for KNOWING that before I wouldn't have had a clue the effect of the foods where having on me. Nor would I have cared. So that is progress.

Weight: 296

B: 4 slices turkey bacon, cheese stick, V8, water. I again had no appetite this am. some mornings the thought of food just makes me want to gag.
S: handful of almonds, cherub tomatoes, water
L: (eft overs) grilled pork loin, roasted asparagus/tomatoes, some lima beans and a few green beans with tomato, water
S: peach, cheese stick, water
S: 1% milk (realized I hadn't gotten the dairy in yet)
D: (Denny's) chopped sirloin with swiss/mushrooms/onions, sliced tomatoes, salad with ranch/no croutons, water
S: 1% milk

We were BUSY today and are still very short handed at work. Phew! I am beat.
Peace,

Hey Brandy,
I'm so glad that you are doing so well thus far on SB. I made the mistake of falling off track yesterday. I had a 1/2 a baked potatoe, and pizza last night. So, I am going to begin P1 again, and start over. I'm not going to let that bring me down. I need to find out what to eat though because I got bored what I was eating, and thus the cravings came on. I'm doing okay other wise. I'm in a bit of pain so I got my Right Hip xrayed yesterday, and my doctor prescribed me ultram to take for pain. Since I can't exercise very well right now I'm thinking of going to the gym and swimming b/c that would be a lot o less stress on my joints. Anyway, I hope your day is going well.:) Ttyl.

Emilie

PS I got a ticker, but can't figure out how to get the thing to come on my display. How did you do that?
