Hi everyone,
Finally got around to making a journal. So here it is. Lets see...I am 26, almost 27, and I work at a job that is just a job...trying to (still) figure out what to do (lame I know). Heh.
Lets see..I've been on the beach twice before, but it didn't last as long as this time. The first time, I did phase one, then didn't know that phase two was supposed to be a gradual shift, not all at once...and it threw me off and a few parties later I had totally fallen off the bandwagon. Then I tried it again, but I was trying to be vegetarian too and it was too many changes at once so I slipped up that time too.
Then a couple things happened. My dad has always been kind of overweight and he was looking to try something new, and mentioned sbd. I pulled out the book and ran over the basics with him, and now he has lost over 40 lbs and counting! So that really inspired me to see him have such success.
And the other thing was that I discovered this board! While I was looking up more info about SBD after seeing my dad's success, I happened to see the forums and checked out some of the posts and before after pics (man I love those!), and I was hooked! It really has been a great place to find motivation, inspiration, and get those specific questions answered. I also love the recipe section too. And now I have discovered the challanges...oh man...I am so into it.
So anyway, I started this time on may 21st and have stuck with it mostly since then...I even went on vacation in july, and thought it was all over after that, but I really shocked myself when I got back on track! That's when I knew I could really do it.
So far I've lost just about 20 lbs, and I'd like to lose another 10-15 more. I have a very short torso/short waisted so I look a lot heavier and wear bigger clothes than other people the same height and weight. Weird.
Lets see...this week so far, Monday I was not a beachy eater. I did go for a short run but it sucked. (How can a run sometimes suck and sometimes be good? I don't really understand it!). Yesterday I was good and beachy but I didn't do any cardio besides walking around which I don't really count. Then today I went running after work...it was great. I think I forgot to take two puffs of my inhaler & only took one (I have asthma) so it was a little harder to breathe than usual. But I perservered and busted out on some hills too! Running is totally my new thing. It has been the most amazing thing to see myself improve and do things I didn't think I would ever truly be able to do! Oh yeah, I also did weights, sit ups and pushups, squats, lunges...all that little strength stuff.
Alright, well I feel like I wrote a mini novel here! Just ate my dinner, little mixed green salad with olive oil and lime juice dressing and a baked chicken breast. Yummmmm. Time for the dreaded dishes. See ya!
