Exercises for Morbidly Obese Folks

Postby GrammaKD » Thu Mar 26, 2009 7:40 pm

After losing about 35lbs, I knew it was time to incorporate some exercise into my days. I have a torn achille's tendon and am losing weight prior to having surgery on it so I can't 'do' exercises on my feet. I'm saving them to walk on until surgery :) Anyhow, I found these great exercises one can do sitting down...12 of them. They require simple equipment...a child's ball, paper plates, dumbbells or soup cans and a resistance band. I'm doing this workout every other day as the site suggests and have been able to increase reps and sets both in just 2 weeks. Just wanted to pass along this site for those of you who might be interested.

Hope these sites help someone! Kathy

Hi,

WOW Thanks for sharing your story! You are an inspiration! 35 down - that's great. I just started last month and am down almost 10 lbs. I have, as you can see below, about 90 more lbs to get to my goal of 180 and we'll see from there! I am definately going to check out these sites - thank you.
Lots of Success!

May I suggest Callanetics to anyone reading this thread? It's what I'm doing at the moment and is a mix of ballet, pilates, calisthenics and yoga. It was developed by a lady born with severe spinal injuries and is very low impact and you never do more than you can on that day.
