Morning Hypothyroid Friends

Postby disneychick » Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:18 am

Morning all hypothyroid friends,
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all of us hypothyroid people that are struggling with our weight.
I have Hashimoto's disease. I'm hypothyroid, I take synthroid everyday and I have been on every diet under the sun. My lastest being weight watchers. I actually never lost anything over a 6 month period. My Dr. suggested SB and I'm on phase I and really liking it. I do have to count calories, exercise everyday and just work harder.
If we hypo's can think of a name for our group we can have a place to meet everyday, share ideas, med's, blood tests to have done.
We can lose weight, it is just harder for us. Let me know what you think. Have a great South Beach day.

I just posted somewhere else but I would be glad to join this thread! I have hypothyroidism. I just switched from Synthroid to Armour and I think it works much better. I am a 32 year old mother of 2 and my thyroid disease was from being pregnant! Ugh the things we do for our children! jk. Its nice to have a support group. I am starting SBD on Monday. I have done it before and lost alot of weight so here I am again!!

Hello I HOPE the people that started this tread are still around. :D I have Hashimoto's, have had TERRIBLE weigh gain over the last 3 years. I just recently started taking Cytomel along with my Levothyroxine, NO weight loss. haha It has made me feel better in other ways though. I JUST had to start a medication for High Blood Pressure on Friday, don't think it's related to the Cytomel as my BP has been creeping up for years. Once I went from just "hypo" to HASHI'S it took a 180! ANYWAY, I'm ready to start the South Beach diet NOW. I'm tired of the weight gain, I just can't bare to go up anymore. Did you have success with it? Its so depressing to think the Hashi's is going to prevent me from EVER losing weight, I need some hope, some support and some thyroid friends!! :D
THANKS
Tracy
