What are the benifits of walking backwards on a treadmill?

I've seen people at the gym do this and was wondering exactly what this move works out? They do it on a high incline if that matters.

You use different muscle groups.

Walking/jogging backwards backwards on the treadmill works muscles in a different way than walking forwards.
