Prayer Requests

Postby loserwant2b » Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:16 am

I'm thinking about running another thread for just prayer requests. Something we can all tap into and place our prayer needs but where no one really needs to respond. A place where others can run the list and pray over each need. Where we'll occassioinally update the request with progress reports and put in the date and time of the answers as well. Also if there is an individual who wants to give encouragement for another based on the request they can do it here or in PM.

OK, how do I answer a poll as opposed to just answering with a post?

Anyway, sounds like a good idea to me. Let's do it!

Great idea!

I like it. And think that updates and prayers answered are very important.

I don't think you poll attempt worked though.

First prayer request-Please pray for those that are in Florida (Want2be and Jheny included), that they make it through the hurricane season unscathed. And that Want2be's house can be repaired easily.

Thanks Jeannie -

There is an elderly woman in our church who has just been moved to Hospice. She was just diagnosed with Colon and some other cancer. Pray the God see's fit to take her quickly and quietly. She has had a long full life and served God through it all. She is ready to meet Him, I pray she has no suffering during her transition.

Remember we are not human beings having a Spiritual experience.

We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience.

Her name is Sister Gillette.

and yeah - the 'poll' thing didn't work so let's just run with it.

Jeanniemae left a comment on my South Beach Diet blog today reminding me that I should be asking for prayer for a pain I am having. Isn't it funny how we tend to think we don't need prayer for something; that it will just go away? Anyhow, I have had a lot of trouble with my feet for the last several years. A big part of this is gout, which is now under control through medication. However, I also have a pain that periodically occurs on the outside of my foot just below my little toe that is sometimes pretty painful. It usually goes away within a day and I can't seem to find anything that is causing it. It happened again just the other day and has thankfully already subsided, but I would be quite happy if it never returned. Thanks in advance for the prayers.

KittyKat wrote at 10pm concerning her future choices.
You are so disciplined. Prayer for me, that I get that kind of discipline soon.

THIS is what she did

Loserwant2b wrote in Kat's journal
Your day at the training session was absolutely an example of P3 living and even P2 choices. And let's just say you succeeded with flying colors. Was it SB P1 eating? NO. But it was P2-P3 and that is what this way of eating is all about. Phase 2 and phase 3 are not just for loosing weight. They are for ingraining the wisdom of choices into us so that those choices are habit and we do NOT have to think about it at the next event. The P2 phase is like boot camp. Where we relearn what to crave and what to look at when we are standing in front of that "smorgasboard". Back in the day (only 4 short weeks ago) you would never have even seen that apple or those bars. You'd of been grazing on the starches. Lunch would have been something entirely not healthy and the afternoon snack would have been the same.

Instead you went to the beach, walked along the beach, without realizing it you asked God for help and He carried you past the temptations and you stayed on the beach.

A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF PRAYER ANSWERED IN THE TIME OF NEED :!:

Our Father knows our needs even before we ask them. Because there is no time and space with Him, He heard her prayer even before SHE felt impelled to say it. The miracle of prayer at it's finest.

I'd like to request a prayer for the folks living in the Gulf Coast area to be safe and protected from hurricane Gustav. It is brewing to be a strong, nasty one.

Great thinking Beachin-Dude. You are right. People in Gustav's path are less prepared then those in Florida, and if it hits the New Orleans area they will be in serious trouble again.

I agree also with Beachin-Dude and Jeanniemae... prayers for them in the Gulf...

Update on sister Gillette - She passed this morning. I ran into a close friend of her's who wanted to visit her this morning but didn't make it in time. It was about 30 minutes later I when I saw her at Target and it was absolutely a Kingdom connection. (I hadn't seen either of them in years.) Anyway, she needed a little Jesus with some skin on and I had arms open and ready to provide that for her. There we were in Target, full on embrace as she cried in my arms.

Sister Gillette is now standing before the Lord - getting her crown to lay at His feet... what a glorious day it is. Let the angels rejoice. Thanks to all of you who helped to usher her home.

Kim-I am so happy that Sister Gillette is now free of the pain, and standing with Jesus! That is a great thing. And it is also great that you were able to comfort another in their time of need. Thanks for the update.

I was reading in the P2 forum, and Mammajane requested prayer. She is in LA and is evacuating now. So as we pray for all on the Gulf Coast, keep Mammajane in your thoughts.

Definitely -- for MommaJane....

Did you post in that thread about this one?? There may be quite a few people that don't venture into General Chat. Unless they do, they won't know this is here. Just a question??

Let's get the word out there - this isn't just for our 'club' it's for everyone on the beach.

Thanks for the push to post about this thread. I went over and let them know that everyone visiting the prayer request line will be praying for Mamajane.

Just a reminder for all who are checking in this morning Monday September 1, 2008 at 7:30 am -

PRAY FOR THOSE IN THE PATH OF GUSTAV

Also pray that Hanna decides to stay out to sea.

Matthew 8: 27 reads-
27The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

So remember not just to ask for the safety, but ask for Him to still the wind and rain. He can - if we believe He can.
