This is a pretty detailed page of nutritional information for Agar...

(ok, so I can't post the link yet, but it's at nutritiondata dot com)

According to this page, it is nothing but "carbohydrates", but I know it's not refined or anything, so I wouldn't know for sure if its safe or not. I just thought this might help someone come to a conclusion about whether or not it is OK to eat.

Portions

Are the portions sizes by meal any different for the Supercharged version? I think I heard the veggies and fat had been increased for breakfast......

i was wondering about:

onions- why are they in an orang-ey color on the list? are they only allowed in certain amounts?

mustard, yay or nay?

how about canned chicken broth, low fat and low sodium okay?

frogfairie: I'm not aware of the meal template being changed with the Supercharged book. But you might want to check with Ladybugnessa who went through the book and identified the changes to the food lists that I incorporated here. AFAIK, it's still a minimum of 1/2 cup of veggies and 1 teaspoon (optional) of good fats for breakfast. Or 6-8 oz of tomato/vegetable juice as a sub for the veggies.

tali9187: onions are in black on my list. Are you looking at the list linked into the the P1 FAQ sticky thread in this P1 forum? no limits on them. (Items in red on that list are deleted items based on the new "Superchared" book though, but onions aren't one of them.)

mustard is fine. avoid honey mustards or sweetened mustards though.

chicken broth is fine. low fat and low sodium is good.

heard my name

portion sizes have not changed (amounts for starches and grains in phase 2 were increased but not for breakfast or phase 1)

veggies are still 4.5 cups per day minimum.
fats are the same optional up to 1 tsp at breakfast
1 tblspoon at lunch and dinner (or 2 tablespoons acceptable salad dressing)

The updated list is VERY helpful! Thank you for taking the time to compile it! I have the 2005 Good Fats Good Carbs Guide, and I constantly refer to it.

I have a question about yogurt, though. From list of acceptable foods above, it says that Fat-free plain yogurt is OK. In the guide it says, "When selecting dairy products, look for non-fat or low-fat varieties of milk or plain yogurt or yogurt sweetened with aspartame." So does that mean that fat-free vanilla yogurt is OK? There are ways to dress up the plain yogurt, but the vanilla is much tastier. :?

If you could find one sweetened only with aspartame (or any other artificial sweetener) then it would be P1 friendly assuming no other starches or other non-P1 additives. But the P1 list here only lists these options for yogurt in P1:

Fat-free plain yogurt
Greek Yogurt nonfat

In P2 you can begin adding the flavored yogurts, but only in much smaller quantities. (4-6 oz. daily)

Thank you for your reply. I will be sure to read the labels carefully. I guess the safe thing to do is stick with the plain yogurt for now.

FOOD LIST

Postby SEABREZ » Sun Sep 21, 2008 5:39 pm

thanks so much. Now, if I can just figure out how to add my little TickerFactory guide, I will be all set. I have tried it just doesn't take.

Thanks again, good luck to you.

There are sticky threads in the Technical Issues section which might help. Make sure if the text is in fact stored in your signature text block that the preferences to always attach your signature and to use BBCode are both checked in the "Yes" column. You will only see it in posts from that point forward unless you want to go back and edit your posts and set those preferences in each individual post as well. (there's a section under the text block to set these, but in this area, uncheck the "Disable" box to enable.)

OK. I just looked in your profile. You don't have the ticker code in your signature block at all. It's empty. You need to copy in the BBCode they give you and edit out the spaces in the text string to get it to work properly and then paste it into your signature block in your profile.

And in the future, these kinds of questions are better off as new threads than added to questions related to the food list itself.

If it's all white meat with no added bad ingredients it should be OK.

Again, these kinds of questions are better off started in their own thread than added to this one.

not a big deal. It's more for your own benefit. It will get more visibility that way and answers will be more specific to your question and issues. Not everyone checks the end of this thread. A new post with the title, "what about canned chicken?" would probably have gotten more views and more responses.
