The strange thing is, it has less milk, not more. Maybe the shop you go to uses more milk than mine does. It doesn't taste any milkier to me than a latte. But on the other hand, if someone wants a milky coffee drink, this might be the one to try.

I guess. that's why I avoid lattes in general though in favor of cappacino's and get extra shots at those places that only put in 1 shot per 12 oz. The place I like usually puts in 3 shots for less than starbuck's 1 shot prices and they steam their milk properly so it is creamy smooth, not just whipped air on top of hot milk. But to each their own! :)

Confused about Lattes

Postby amber_182 » Thu Jun 26, 2008 2:30 am

Alright...I'm kinda confused. I love my skinny vanilla latte hot OR cold. It is made with sugar free vanilla syrup and skim milk..so I thought it would be okay to have during phase one. BUT I was just on the starbucks website and the nutritional info has scared me.

Hot- sugar free syrup(vanilla, cinnamon, mocha, caramel), non fat latte
(Tall) has 12g of sugar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iced- sugar free syrup(vanilla, cinnamon, mocha, caramel), non fat latte
(Tall) has 8g of sugar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I cheating on my diet???? or is it okay???

Amber..

Dairy has natural sugars, and those will be noted in the nutritional info. We just go for no-sugar-added in these types of things. 8)

A cup of milk has 12 gms of carbs, all from sugars. 2 cups of dairy are encouraged in P1. enjoy! :)
