help!!

Postby cat25 » Sat May 31, 2008 1:13 pm

hi everyone!!
please help utterly depressed and at wits end i feel like bursting into tears. iv being going on and off the SB for about the 5th time since jan after the xmas binge, i have 14lbs to lose might not seem like a lot but none of my clothes fit iv a wardbrobe of shirts that im bursting out of and now im jst feeling so depressed not being able to lose the famous "8-13lbs" in your first 2weeks.
i lost 7lbs the first week of the diet in jan then everything went wrong went off the diet and piled on about another 10lbs. went back on again 4 weeks ago and lost 4lbs in 3 weeks. granted i cheated with two slices of bread one night but aside from that everything was to perfection natural yoghurt for breakfast with 10 pistachios, dinner or lunch turkey mince with sugar free beans slice of low fat cheese and salad.
i dont know what im doing wrong am i eating too much of the same food? i weigh myself everyday to keep track of things if i didnt id lose the run of myself.
iv tried cutting it back to 2meals a day have the yoghurt with nuts in the morning coffee and diet coke and a slice of chicken keeps me going through the day until evening where i have my turkey mince not even BEEF mince for dinner. am i stripping back too much? or drinking too much diet drinks? please any words of wisdom gladly accepted!!
thanks so much

if all you want to lose is 15 pounds you may only lose 1-2 pounds in phase 1. phase 1 is not the weight loss phase.

you need to check out the food templates and make sure you are getting enough dairy, beans and veggies.... this plan is really about the veggies...

and it does not sound like you are getting enough.

cutting back to two meals a day is not SBD. I eat all day long.

breakfast
snack
lunch
snack
dinner
snack

six times a day I eat.

it seems dumb but you gotta eat to lose.

Hi Nessa
thanks for that i must start stocking up on the veggies, i thought ihad to stay on p1 until i reached my goal weight and then p2 start on the maintenance bcoz when i did it before once i started p2 and reintroduce the carbs the weight came back on so i went back to p2,
bit confused!
but i will start now by eating more and eating properly i just got so depressed not seeing any results and then turned to a carb infested binge iv tried weight watchers slimming pills the works and now bak to SB.
how did p1 go for you, did you lose much in p1?

you can't compare anyone to yourself. I have a lot to lose so I lost a lot in phase 1 also i was eating badly before SBD

you really should get a copy of the book and read the FAQ and stickies that will help!

cat a lot of people will say not to bother reading the information....but really, if you want to do SBD successfully, there's a rhyme and reason to almost everything. Go to phase 1 and read the threads at the top of the first page - it has all the facts. you can't just lose weight with a food list.

It makes me laugh when people say - it SAYS I'll lose 8-13# - ads on TV for diet pills SAY you'll lose pounds and inches in a week - do you believe them? car ads SAY if you drive a red convertible you'll be sexy [I have one, I'm not that sexy], and if you drive on XYZ tires you won't have a wreck - What worked in select controlled environment [in this case - obese cardiac, prediabetic people with extremily poor diets] is not going to work on someone who might need to lose 15#.

Hi Debby,
thanks for that iv printed the info its now stuck to the fridge! i was just starting to get really down the fact that the first time i did SBD the weight seemed to fly off in the first week and then i fell off the wagon at the weekend! and piled on the lbs i lost in fact multiplied them!!
but iv started offically again today!! i just need to get focused and be more realistic!
SW 140lbs
GW 125lbs
here it goes! :D [/u]

Hi Cat,

You sound like you are in my sitatuion. I have been struggling to lose 10-15 pounds for the past 8 years and yes it is not much but just like you, at times I stick to a diet and I lose about 8-10 pounds hen I go away for the summer holiday and it all comes back on, well I put it back on cause I start eating anything I want which is BAD. I've tried all kinds of diets, Atkins, Hoodia, weght watchers but of all of them SBD is really one that works for me, I see results and I don't suffer.

Like Nessa said above, if you were on a diet before SBD it is gonna be a slow ride...I was on Weight wachers before going os SBD and I don't have much to lose which is why today is my day 17 and I've only lost 3 Lbs...but I know if I give it time it will come off and i'm working out almost everyday....so all I gotta say is YOU ARE NOT ALONE, don't lose hope, keep fighting and those 10-15 Lbs will come off.

ALL THE BEST :P

Start stepping up your exercise. I know that this is not a popular suggestion but I strongly believe that to lose weight and get healthy in general one needs to exercise. As you are losing weight you need to do a little more exercise as you are now healthier and have a greater capacity to do more.
