I need help/advise! I have been type 2 diabetic for two years. Dr. stated off all meds if I lose 20 lbs. I started on May 12, 2008. No weight lose yet (not the problem) My blood sugars are great after meals (106-120) but they are very high in the morning. Dinner last night was LF turkey, cheese stick (2), celery, LF milk and cucumbers. I weigh 166 & I'm 5'7". I also have a dill pickle for my snack. Can anybody help? Pieladie

I am still having a hard time with the blood sugars in the morning. I tried your suggestion and this morning it was still 145, and has been for the week. I still haven't lost any weight, but I have lost inches. I am also walking at least 3 miles a day and getting more water. What can I do if anything to get my blood sugars lower in the AM? HELP

Try cutting out milk, dairy and watch the complex carbs. Use phase 1 vegetables and protein for the evening meal. Lactose in milk may be the problem.

Yep it's the milk that causes my reading to be higher in the morning. If I don't drink milk in the evening or with supper then my AM readings are a lot lower.
Sunday I start on Phase II ....have to watch my carbs. and keep track of them. Dr. A says in his book to keep the carbs at 90 g. a day to start so I will do that.
