hello fellow beachers...

May 1, 2006 I was nearly 300 pounds and barely could climb a flight of steps or walk a lap around the mall at a slow speed. I'm not quite 5'3" and I was killing myself.

I had just had a very diseased gall bladder removed.

I lived on fast food.
My size 28 pants were snug and I was wearing a size 4x top or pants.
I had constant rashes all over my body in my creases... and boy did i have a lot of creases.

I was killing myself.

this morning I weighed in at 220.2 pounds I have lost 66 pounds in two years. I wear around a size 18 jean now and an XL top. I am far from finished losing weight... and I am by no means a saint at this lifestyle.

NOW not only can I walk/run laps at the gym, I lift weights, i do yoga and I love all of it.

I"m losing a bit over half a pound a week... many many many weeks i do not lose anything.... then all of a sudden i'll drop 2 pounds... it's not a predictable path... but the key is I keep walking it.....

my best advice to those starting this journey... DO NOT GIVE UP! just keep on going....

Way to go. You must be feeling a hell of alot better 24 months later.

The long term success stories are the good ones. It's not always easy but if we stick with it, we'll have a large impact on our health and quality of life.

It also helps show how this is sustainable.

Congrats sweetie!! And look how much nicer you have gotten along the way as well!!

I wish more people measured their progress in terms of weeks or months on the program instead of weight lost. Or as you do on your own board on # of days of clean eating in a row. That's ultimately what matters the most IMO.

Yay Nessa!
You're such an inspiration - not too many from the original May 2006 "losers" are still around.
And you look fabulous!
P.S. - I love your "playground" too - very friendly kids.
