Turning off messages to my email?

How do I turn off getting emails notifying me of responses to my posts or topics i have posted in?

Go to the User Control Panel. (link in the upper left, bottom light blue bar, under the link to "Board index")

Click on the tab along the top for "Board Preferences"

Click on the menu item along the left side for "Edit Posting Defaults"

Set the option to "Notify me upon replies by default:" to "No". (Note that you can override the default on any particular post somewhere near the bottom of the page used for posting)

FWIW, There is also a setting under the "Global settings" menu item to turn off notices about new private messages as well if that is also a problem/concern.
