Good Morning to all, and happy 3rd of July too.

My schedule today is 3 - midnight. I ask ----why----- "Oh, that's just what the computer does sometimes". Not buying it.

Oh well, six more days and I start my new job. I am actually ending one job and taking a brief time out to readjust my body clock from PM to AM and to just get rested up for the new job. Not working every night and almost every weekend. Hmm What will I do.

Today is day 3 of restarting P1. Two months of emo eating due to Mothers Day. I am quite determined. I am also looking at this a slightly different way.

I've started reading SBD Super Charged for guidance and motivation. I know I will hit a plateau. I did the last time.

Can anyone tell me what is the size of a "serving" of fresh asparagus? I've read 1/2 cup and I've read one cup. I must say that one cup in my omelet seems a bit too much. It would be asparagus with a little egg in it. LOL

I'm off to make my omelet and fix my dinner for tonight at work.

MIDNIGHT !!!!!
LOL

I am recuperating today. Well, recuperating by going to the Mall. LOL

It was so oppressively hot in my store yesterday. I felt ill by my first break. After the sun went down it got a little better but by then the damage had been done. Today my lungs and chest hurt. I don't work today and the rest of my shifts are 5:30 - 10:30 or 11, so the worst is over. I am really looking forward to my new job.

Later same day:

I had Hu Hot for lunch today. For those of you who have never heard of Hu Hot, it's a Mongolian grill. I had my usual, definitely not South Beach, but I did not have Crab Rangoon's, and I did not have the Asian salad (I am sure that there is sugar in there) No Coke, Pepsi or wine. Tried to drink their coffee, it was nasty. So at the mall I went to Gloria Jean's, had black iced coffee, not my usual Chocolate Mint Bomb, with whipped cream of course. Hubby person sat there and tried to tempt me with pizza, but I gave him a look and he decided not to pursue that line of thinking.

Bought some new clothes for my new job. Lane Bryant has their bras at buy two get two free. And even though I may size out of these in a few months (I am hoping) I still needed some for work. I do not work for Lane Bryant and I am to paid by Lane Bryant, I just love their No Under-wire Bras !!!!! so there I said it.

I made myself get up from watching the fire works on TV to make myself something healthy. I could have had that pizza. We could have ordered a pizza. But I (we) didn't. I did offer to make hubby person something, he declined the offer. He still hasn't eaten anything.

I hope y'all had a safe Independence Day !!!!!

Hi Bettie! I think you have a great attitude and your journal made me grin more than a few times :) Congratulations for the new job and the weight loss...I am sure a more reliable routine will make this journey easier for you. I am so ready to be out of P1 and terrified of going into P2 at the same time--here's hoping it gets easier! See you later here at the beach...

Thank you for your kind words Tracy.

This week has been kind of a roller coaster. Quite a few people came up to me and said they would really miss me. I thanked them and said how much I appreciated their kind words. ( One of the yakkers seemed surprised and asked me why I was leaving. I actually laughed. )
So now I am officially unemployed until I start new job in 10 days. I plan on resting, getting my clothes in order for the new job and getting the 'ol head together. Hubby person and I will probably watch some movies. Daughter and I will do that too, just chick flicks when he's not here. LOL

I've slipped more than once on the Beach.

I have a refrigerator full of fresh veggies that I am looking forward to grilling on the new grill. I may need more fresh asparagus, though.

We do have a planned dinner out at Los Banditos in Green Bay with the in-laws next week, but until then only planned SBD food for me.

Nothing to eat yet today, still getting caffeine into my system via strong coffee.

Well, other South Beach Dwellers, I gave up on yesterday.
Totally blew it.
Today is a new day.
Made my breakfast. Now I am going to embark on the toy poodle bath and hair cut. I was planning on doing that tomorrow morning, but my plumber has to come and I don't think I know him well enough to be dressed the way I dress when I'm giving said poodle a hair cut. LOL

Deep breath followed by a sigh.
Plumber is on his way. Long weekend.
Plumber came, cleaned out kitchen trap in basement. I also had him clean out my bathroom sink trap. He's a nice guy.
Mr Culligan was here as well. Late Saturday night when my laundry tubs in basement were almost overflowing, I contacted Culligan to figure out how to stop the 'regeneration' that I call purging the system. Mr Culligan came and reprogrammed my softener unit. Unit had to finish it's purging.
I now have all use of water and drains. I think there are three dishwasher loads to do. And many loads of laundry.

Sounds like you've been up to your eyeballs!!

You asked a few posts ago about serving size for asparagus.... I do 1/2C veggies minimum for breakfast and 2 C minimum for both lunch and dinner. The measurement should be based on veggies in it's raw state. 1/2 C of spinach say would cook down to next to nothing in an omelet. This is always my way of getting in a bit extra when I think I'm short. If you cut up the asparagus and measure once you can write it down and have that info. I keep a sheet taped on the inside of one of my kitchen cabinets for quick reference. Obviously you have big and small sizes so thin asparagus may be your description. I always err on the size of way more veggies than what I need. Herbs count too! Toss in 1/2C of basil or parsley!

Example 1 medium onion = 1C
2 giant handfuls of spinach = 4Cs
20 cherry tomatoes = 1C

Thank you Chefk.

Wow, you eat a lot of veggies. There are some veggies I can't eat because they bother my tummy, there are some ( a LOT ) of veggies that daughter can't eat ( a few she would be anaphylactic to ). Poor thing is allergic to most herbs as well. I try to keep my cooking her problem things to a minimum. When I do cook things for hubby person, she has to stay in her room, sealed at the door with a towel, with her air purifier on turbo. I made him a meatloaf last night and every time she came out of her room she had to wear a face mask.

We are personally keeping the asparagus market alive in Northern Wisconsin.

Actually that's the SB recommended amount. I bet if you were eating all that, you wouldn't have such a hard time when you get "the munchies". I don't think I ever get to the point where I feel like I NEED to munch. Don't forget some of the veg can come from beans too. So what veggies can your family eat? (aside from asparagus!! )

Good evening y'all.

And thank you Chefk. Daughter can eat: Garbanzo beans, although she usually eats these for a protein source, sugar snap peas, mushrooms (her not me, my bad allergy is mold) radish, asparagus, Romain lettuce, carrots, artichoke hearts, acorn squash, spaghetti squash. She can eat oregano and dill. Salt yes, pepper no. Cayenne pepper yes.

She has 27 ingredients that she can have. That includes spices, oil, anything. She has to drink distilled water.

But I love her.

I've not been doing to well. I start out every day with my omelet and V8 and somehow, the day deteriorates into eating anything I can get my hands on.

Ah well, tomorrow is a new day.

Bettie

I think when your blood sugars get low and your stomach starts growling, everything goes out the window and why shouldn't it? Your body is saying EAT! There's an easy fix for it. Eat often. Have your omelet in the morning with say a sliced tomato. A couple hours later have a handful of nuts. (great for discouraging hunger) At Lunch make a huge plate of grilled veggies sprinkled with chicken chunks or a giant salad with steak slices, beans and a vinaigrette. Then a couple hours later have a yogurt and a piece of fruit. Munch on raw veggies while you prep your dinner and if you have any energy left to eat after that, have hummus dip with snap peas.

Drink water, always. I go through about 4 liters a day. I have a refillable bottle I take everywhere with me and just sip throughout the day. I think that you're going to run into issues when you run out of food. You have to plan, shop accordingly and keep plenty of healthy munchies prepped and on hand for "hunger attacks". If you're eating constantly through the day like this your metabolism is going to be cruising at such a fast clip and you won't feel hungry. This becomes routine once you do it a few days, but plan! Make a big rotisserie pork loin and then chop the pork into chunks for mid day meals. Add extra veggies when you cook dinner so you have them on hand to slice into omelets.

You CAN do it. Just decide.
