Dragon..... you sound so much like me with that GagDonald's cheeseburger bite you popped in your mouth! I've probably done that a dozen times in the last 14 months - started to taste something and then realized what I was doing and spit it out! You know what??? I think most of us don't realize how often we take bites here and there during the day.... I'll bet those bites really add up!

I seriously think 135 would really look great on you, but if you can get down to 125 that would be terrific, too! I think you would be an awfully tiny little mama! :D

Day 9!!!

4 more days and I can have some dark chocolate!!!

B - Mock French Toast - SF Maple Syrup - V8 - Decaf coffee - splenda - skim milk
S - Celery with LF Laughing Cow Cheese - A few dry roasted peanuts
L - Last of my chicken chili on top of lettuce
S - LF String Cheese - shared with my daughter - should have had something else, I was starving by dinner
D - South Beach Turkey Tacos wrapped in lettuce leaves...pretty dang good with leftover Green Beans I made last night----YUM YUM
S - :( NSA Fudgsicle----Why do I feel so bad when I eat this... I made it all day without one and I caved. But...after talking with my husband about it, he tried to make me feel that its ok compared to what I used to eat and it's only 40 calories. Plus, all I'm thinking about right now is this dark chocolate I bought last night!

It has been snowing all day where I live. Brrr...and it's cold! I was thinking about buying some SF hot chocolate. Would have been nice on a day like today. I'm pretty sure I read that it was ok...

Kyan - Yes, it is amazing how aware I am now of what I put into my mouth. I used to just pop stuff in all the time especially when making the kiddos meals. I bet so many people do this without even knowing.

Tomorrow I'm planning on making Chicken Dijon with broccoli. I'm getting sick of eggs for breakfast... Can't wait to eat cereal again and glad that Fiber One is ok because I already have it in my cupboard.

I can't wait to watch the Biggest Loser tonight. That show gets me all psyched to lose weight. I didn't workout today...still really sore from my 20 min. workout on Sunday. Hoping to workout tomorrow!

Dragon, what kind of chocolate did you buy?

What did you think of Biggest Loser tonight? I was so happy when O'neal won the car for Sunshine! But I was shocked when I thought Sunshine was going to fall below the yellow line. I'm glad she didn't! It was a pretty fun show. I know what you mean about how the show gets you psyched!

I was almost in tears when he gave the car to her... Ya, I'm glad she didn't fall below. I hope she is the one who wins it all.

I bought Endangered Species...all were 70%. and...some Green & Blacks organic chocolate 70% that the store clerk raved about.

It was alright, would have been better with rice... I feel like I should have had something else with it. Just broccoli and chicken.

I forgot to mention that I made pasta for my husband to have with it. So I'm cooking the pasta and throw one in my mouth to see if it's ready. Yep, chewed it and everything! After realizing what I did I went to the sink and spit it out. I know some ended up going down but I tried to get every piece out of my mouth. :(

I still have not cheated...and I am so proud of myself. :D

I think I'm going to wait until my 2nd week in Phase 2 to add fruit. My plan is to eat 1 piece of whole wheat toast at breakfast the first week. The 2nd add fruit in at lunch.. What do you think?

Just need to get exercising like you!!!!

I think my reward will be a glass of Pinot Noir and dark chocolate! YUM. Hmmm, I bet a limit is set on how much wine you can have. I should probably look into that.

I'm sure there is a limit on wine. Even though we don't count calories, I am thinking a glass has a fair number of them?!? (I honestly don't know!) That is an awesome treat to look forward to!
Right now my favourite thing is those South Beach dark chocolate covered soynuts. Yummy!!!

It's 1-2 glasses of wine, preferably with a meal. And you beat me to it. I was going to suggest thinking about wine instead of dark chocolate! responded to your vino questions in the chocolate topic btw.

Personally not a big fan of adding bread or other flour based products as the first starch. Even whole wheat flour is still a fairly refined form of whole grains. Better IMO, to start with a whole grain much closer to it's whole form like a steel cut oatmeal if you want a breakfast grain. I also remember seeing some of the folks in the vegetarian thread talking about using quinoa (keen-wah) for a breakfast grain although I think of it more as a dinner side dish and rice kind of replacement, just a lot healthier! Or have the Fiber One instead of the toast although cold cereals are really just as processed as breads, but at least there is more fiber to slow the absorption/conversion of carbs to blood glucose. But remember it's still just an add in to some amount of protein, good fats and maybe some veggies. We don't really have just grains/starches as the main component of a meal anymore.

ETA: I just found the alcoholic beverages post from Ami's Daily Dish sticky topic and added it to the bottom of Kim's P2 FAQ sticky topic. You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26401&p=1139060#p1139060

Ok - so I'll add whole grain toast the first week instead of whole wheat...and I'm definitely going to eat some Fiber One cereal. I'm a BIG cereal fan so I'm going to need to buy a few more. I know I found it somewhere in here... which ones were good to eat. I'll do a search!

Do you have a preference on fruit for the next? Or does it matter?

I really want some dark chocolate and wine now!!! AND I'm all out of NSA Fudgsicles!!!! :x My 4 yr. daughter LOVES them! Sending the husband to the store on his way home from work to get some more... I haven't had anything sweet all day.

I'm noticing I'm thinking more about wanting to eat sweets lately. Not that I'm necessarily craving them, but thinking about it for sure. Doesn't help that those dark chocolate candy bars I bought the other day are sitting on the counter. BUT, it's good for me. I don't think I've ever been able to do this...control myself from eating sweets lately. I'm surprised that I'm actually doing this and its going good and I haven't caved.

Sorry, I probably tend to use whole grain and whole wheat interchangeably sometimes. Wheat is a grain, so it's whole grain too, so I often don't really make the distinction! You have to be careful buying breads because the labeling laws allow a lot of leeway in what they can call "whole wheat" or "whole grain". Most whole grain breads really aren't 100% whole grains, so it is actually easier to find bread products that are 100% whole wheat than 100% whole grain. (the only way you can really tell is by reading the ingredients section.) In either case the process of taking a grain in it's relatively whole format (wheat berries for instance in the case of wheat) and pulverizing them into a flour to make a bread greatly increases their ability to be broken down into blood glucose in your system.

So what I was trying to say was that any bread or flour product made from 100% whole grains or whole wheat is going to potentially be more likely to cause hunger pangs after eating it than if you eat a whole grain or whole wheat product much closer to it's whole format. Cooking the entire wheat berries themselves to stay in the same example. I don't eat much sliced bread anymore so I guess I just don't get the fascination people have with being able to add a slice of bread or toast back into their menus, especially given how difficult it is to find a good quality whole wheat/whole grain product to begin with. If you don't yet know what I mean, give yourself plenty of time to read ingredients in the store when you go shopping for bread. ;) I think there was a post from mid-January that Ami made from one of her Daily Dish reposts that had a guide to grains and starches and what to look for that would probably be helpful before shopping. Good luck!

Just curious if you are anywhere near Bozeman? My only Montana experience was a boys' ski trip to Big Sky and the Huntley Lodge a number of years ago and we flew into Bozeman and drove from there. Awesome skiing! Probably the best overall experience we had of the several resorts we went to in the few years that I tagged along.

I didn't understand what you were saying at first but after reading again, I kinda realized you meant to stay away from bread. It won't kill me not to eat bread...I just for some reason thought that is what we were supposed to do.---I'm learning! So, I found all the approved cereals and plan on getting 3 different kind. Including the steel cut oats. I was also hoping to buy WW pitas at some point to have with hummus that I'm waiting to make. Veggies and hummus just doesn't sound that appealing to me, but I will try it when I make it.

I am 2 1/2 hours away from Bozeman. My mom is in Bozeman right now picking up a puppy she had flown in from Washington DC. She's trying to breed them and I think this will be #10 for her. Mad house at her house! We just had 30 inches at our local ski hill and they were going to open back up on Sat. The weather hit mid 60's today so the snow is melting.

So....RedRox. What do you eat for breakfast?
