Thanks for the b-day wishes!

Great job on getting to the gym! What are you doing when you go? I always do the elliptical, and have a weight training program set up that I haven't been doing...

Today was a little off for me...

B - 2 egg scramble with spinach, mushrooms, lf cheese and turkey sausage. Decaf coffee
S - 3 squares of dark chocolate - Endangered Species Mint...my favorite one.
L - Yogurt - string cheese - V8
S - hummus - whole wheat pita
D - Small chicken salad

The hummus did not agree with me at all. I don't think I will be eating more of it tomorrow... :( I was sooooo looking forward to eating this so I'm sad that it didn't agree with my system. I feel like I'm so fragile right now and I have to be very careful what I eat because if not...I'll end up in the bathroom.

Tomorrow my daughter turns the big '5' and her party is Saturday. I'm making 2 cakes for her...and also making a sf jello South Beach diet pie. She's having a Barbie party. So, I had this great idea to make this Barbie cake and asked her to pick a Barbie out for it. She told me no and that she was going to decorate her own cake and make a Barbie face out of frosting. That she was the one who had to frost her own cake. So, I'm making 2 cakes in case she gets upset with the way her cake turns out. Should be interesting... 8)
:(
No workout today...

We're expecting a snow storm tonight for the next couple of days. :(

This weekend was kinda rough on me. A friend came to visit from out of town and I had a little too much to drink on Friday night. I don't think I've drank that much in 3 years. I'm still trying to get back to normal. Yesterday was rough...and had to get ready for my 5 yr. olds b-day party. I didn't have any cake or ice cream at the party...but couldn't help myself today with a couple bites. :(

Hope your little girl had a good party! Did she end up going with the cake she decorated, or did you have to make the Barbie cake too?

Don't sweat the cheats! I've found that the few times I've had a good cheat, it shakes up my metabolism a bit and I end up going up a bit for the day after and then end up dropping a couple of pounds within the next few days! I'm actually thinking I need to designate a cheat day once a month or so. :)

smay - she decorated her own cake. She wouldn't let me take one of her Barbies and make a cake. After she decorated her cake I noticed that a little finger had gone around the entire edging of the frosted cake. Hmmmm...I wonder who did that!

I've been trying to cut back on my dark chocolate too, but I keep rationalizing it with a square a day being "heart healthy" :) I try to have a square every other day, but if one sneaks in daily, I don't beat myself up about it.

I haven't tried very many kinds yet. The first bar I bought was a Lindt 85%. It was so intense, that 1 square was plenty for me. I've only tried 2 of the endangered species bars. The 72% dark supreme (with the monkey on the wrapper) and the 72% with coco nibs (bat on wrapper). I preferred the 72% plain. I like to let it melt in my mouth, so the smooth texture was better. When we went to Trader Joe's my husband found their Pounder Plus of dark belgian chocolate. I think it is a 72% as well. I seem to like that % the best. But, it's going to take me forever to eat through that thing! It's pretty good, and was super-cheap compared to the endangered species. One square is really thick, so I don't eat more than one of them a day (unless I really need the dark chocolate therapy!). The mint sounds great. I'll have to give it a try.

I've found that a little bit of natural peanut butter with dark chocolate is too dangerous of a combination for me. My problem has been nuts lately!

That's too cute that your daughter insisted on decorating her own cake. I'm amazed at how independent and stubborn my little girl is. And that the drama started basically from the minute she was born. I'm already terrified of her being a teenager...

Glad to see you're back on track! We're traveling for Memorial Day this year, so it will be a rough long weekend for me. I'm already trying to figure out how I can stay on diet outside of taking over all the cooking (and grocery shopping) at my parent's house. I need to stand on the scale today and see if my nut overload has taken a toll this week...

Have a beachy day!!

I haven't been keeping track of my meals very well in here...but I'm still doing good.

Today...

B - Kashi Cereal
S - yogurt
L - Chicken Salad
S - SB Brownie
D - hmmmm..not sure yet

I am finally in the 160's! Yahoo! Now if I can just keep going. I'm going out this weekend to buy an outfit for myself. Getting ready for a garage sale on Saturday with my mom. I have so much baby stuff to sell! Next weekend I fly to Portland with my 5 yr. old daughter. She will stay at her grandma's house and I will stay with friends. She's a first time flier so I think she's a little scared. We have to get on a small plane from Portland to Seattle and those always scare me...I just hope it's smooth flying for us. Seems I keep reading scary stuff about planes these days. Some guy saying he's an alien and wanting to take over the plane...what a nut job.

Thanks - Brownie is good - Here is the recipe
This came from another gal on this site

into a bowl, dump
4 T. powdered non-fat milk
1 T. unsweetened cocoa - I like the dark chocolate
1/2 T. Splenda (the kind you can measure out of the bag). Mix those up, add a heaping tablespoon of natural peanut butter (I usually use chunky cause I like the little pieces of nuts in my brownie). Put that into the microwave and heat on high for 30 seconds. Take it out, stir it up a little, then add 1 T. sugar free syrup (the kind you flavor coffee with, I use torani caramel flavor) and 1 T. water. Stir it up. The consistency at this point should be kind of like a thick batter, not all water, but definitely not dry at all. Put it back in the microwave and heat on high for 25 seconds. Eat with a spoon and enjoy. If you got enough water in it (and not too much) it should turn out like a brownie that is just shy of being done.

Thanks for sharing the recipe! Too bad I don't have any powdered milk or sf syrups, or I would have tried it out yesterday. I may have to invest in some... I haven't had a fudgsicle yet either.

So far dark chocolate has been tiding over my sweet tooth, though I've been depending on it a bit too often.
