Just popping in quick. Will journal visit hopefully tomorrow.

The gunk ran the course through the house. I was "sick" sick for less than 24 hours, but the idea of eating vegetables still makes my stomach churn. Gotta ease back into the beach after living off of saltines and Gatorade for a day! So, I'm eating what sounds edible right now. Tomorrow we will bring back the broccoli!

-Yawn- Morning smay, im sorry to hear that the sickness ran through the household, it can be rough sometimes especially when something is passed back and forth over and over. We're all here waiting to walk the beach with ya. Get better!

Weight is holding steady. I'm really looking for a drop, but not getting to the gym doesn't help. Been staying fairly beachy now that I'm feeling normal again. Made chili last night, and will be making a hamburger barley soup tonight for dinner. Tomorrow is the last CSA pick-up, so I'll be back to crappy grocery store veggies soon again.

It's getting chilly around here. Been in the 40's for the past few days. We are supposed to get new shingles on our roof soon, and I hope the contractor gets around to us before the snow starts to fly. Furnace guy is coming this afternoon to do annual maintenance before we start running it for the year.

Not much else going on. Husband is going to the Gopher/Nebraska game on Saturday and helping his brother move on Sunday. I'm going to a baby shower on Sunday. So, another weekend of running I guess.

Lots to do today!

Hey Smay!

I read your comments about Halloween candy (in Dragonfly's journal) and I am with on everything except the coconut. I could eat some Almond Joy bars or Mounds, lol. I bought my boys Halloween candy tonight and it was SOOOOOO tempting! BUT - I am holding strong! HEY - a friend brought over cupcakes leftover from her daughter's birthday and there were three leftover after my boys ate some and my boys had gone to their dad's... and instead of eating them I THREW THEM IN THE TRASH!! You have no idea how amazing that is! ha ha

Great job on tossing the cupcakes. I have a hard time throwing out food.

We've been invaded my Halloween candy and my willpower is failing miserably. I bought the "good" stuff too. I was reading somewhere that if you keep candy at least 5' away from you, you are less likely to eat it (like in an office environment). I have it tucked away in the kitchen, and that doesn't seem to be stopping me!

Today has been candy-free so far at least. Weight is basically holding steady. I wish I had a stronger drive/desire to lose the last bit of weight. Going to try get back in my regular gym routine this week, so hopefully that will help.

Once again, lots to do around the house, so I better get to it!

Hi there smay,

Once you get to where you only have the last bit to lose it does become more difficult, and i think it has to do with becoming more comfortable in your skin so to speak. Doesnt help the holidays are here, not at all. Hopefully you manage to stay away from all that candy effectively, or at least keep up in super moderation. I think the 5 feet away is for people that just dont want to move. Like if you lose the remote and you just sit there watching something you hate because your 5 minutes of searching the cushions was fruitless and the tv is too far away to get up and change the channel  I dont think you're that way, just saying =)

Hey Kyan, thanks for dropping in!

Had my worst fall from the beach in the almost 2 years I've been on it. Had 3 weekends of traveling and Thanksgiving-type meals in a row, started holiday baking, and have been battling head colds and various other crappy illnesses, so I haven't made it to the gym. You couldn't make me step on a scale right now. I think that it's kinda funny that I sabotaged myself. I was 1 lb. away from my lowest weight and then just threw it all away. Pants were getting big, tummy getting flatter, and I just started eating crap.

Celebrated Christmas with the husband's family this weekend. Started P1 again on Monday, after dealing with a bout of food poisoning (or my body going into complete revolt from bad food from the weekend?) Just couldn't take it anymore.

I'll try and get back into posting.

Horray! The holiday season is over. Back to basics.

B - Chili omelet w/cheese, black coffee
S - none (out shopping)
L - Chili w/cheese and low fat sour cream, milk
S - nuts, string cheese, green tea
D - hamburger vegetable soup, milk

water - not enough
exercise - what's that?

Hey Smay!

It's good to have you back! At least when YOU fall off the wagon you come right back to the Beach! Some people just totally give up and don't even try anymore! You will be back to where you were in no time!

PS... I'm right there with you! (Gained back a bunch of weight!) :(

Hey Kyan! I'm a beacher for life. It just feels right. I don't get derailed by white bread or potatoes or pasta, etc. It's just the desserts! I'll try do better and visit your journal soon. Sorry to hear you joined me in the weight gain club. I enjoyed my holiday season, and honestly, I don't regret it. I'll get back on the wagon and get the extra pounds off!

B - Chili omelet w/cheese, coffee
S - none (bad me)
D - Chicken taco soup (made with pork chops instead of chicken), more cheese, and low-fat sour cream, milk
S - nuts, string cheese, green tea
D - ummmm... more chili, cheese, milk

Water - crappy
Exercise - nope!

Chili is my life-saver in P1. I load it up with onion, tomato, and green peppers and then put black and kidney beans in it, and dump in a jar of salsa for good measure! And yes, I'm eating too much cheese. It could be worse!

Still being a bum about visiting journals. Been really busy, but want to make sure I update food while in P1.

B - Chili omelet w/cheese, coffee
S - I suck at morning snacks... nada
L - taco soup (with a little more cheese), coleslaw, milk
S - nuts and some more coleslaw
D - leftover chili w/more cheese, milk, and some more coleslaw

Water - still poor
Exercise - does 20 minutes of Nickelodeon Dance on the Wii with my daughter count?

Going to make some hummus tomorrow to snack on with carrots and celery. I refuse to give up carrots in P1!

Your Wii exercise sounds good to me. Maybe I need a kid to motivate me!

I'm eating carrots, too, mostly because I have tons of winter veggies from my farm share and the carrots are outstandingly good. But I added a banana yesterday, too, so technically I'm in P2. Not having cravings, which is amazing after all the junk I ate from September to last weekend, so I'm forging ahead.

Thanks for stopping in, Chris. I guess any exercise is better than none! Halloween through the end of the year was bad for me. I really don't want to do a full 2 weeks of P1, but I'll see how long I can hold out. A banana sounds wonderful right now, and I also have a half of a loaf of homemade banana bread in the fridge. I found a wonderful recipe using KA white whole wheat flour, and I sweeten it with brown sugar splenda and agave. Kids thankfully are devouring it, so I won't be tempted.

Yesterday was about the same as the day before for food.

Today:
B - chili omelet w/cheese, coffee
L - "light" hotdogs with oven roasted broccoli
S - string cheese and the rest of the oven roasted broccoli, more coffee
D - Jimmy John's "unwich"
S - salted in the shell peanuts, 1 square of dark chocolate (had to go for something sweet, or I was going to eat a leftover cupcake - helped a friend make a b-day cake for her daughter today)
