We have had some time to relax since we have been home (on Monday) and boy did I need it!! I have enjoyed being at home this week. I went for a massage and had a dip in the jet tub this week - 2 things I promised myself I would do!! Everytime I do something like that for myself I think, I ned to take care of myself all the time!! And it never happens..........well, this is a new goal for me! I need to take care of myself physically............which I have been working on since Sept and continue to do.............but I need to take care of myself emotionally as well. I need to do what makes me happy!! And that is doing crafts and scrapbooking!! I need to get going on my daughter's books before they start school (they are only almost 3 and 10 months but I am starting to understand how time can get away from you).
I have done ok in the eating department. I have been very "snacky" lately which hasn't really helped but it hasn't been terrible either. DD2 is more mobile now so that has kept me more on my toes and busy. I have been trying to get some things planned for going back to work (school) at the end of April.
Have a wonderful weekend all!!

Hey Deb, I know exactly what you mean about taking care of you. There's definitely a feeling of 'mommy guilt' when we leave our kids behind to do something that makes us feel good (massage, manicure, gym, vacation with DH)... but over the years, I have learned how important that is for my mental wellness and overall attitute on life, and have made it a priority in my life. My kids are always well cared for and happy little kids and I believe it's because they're mommy has a well balanced life. There father on the other hand has some work to do in that department, but hey, we won't go there.

Anyway, really glad you got a massage in. I did too this week. Hope you get back to scrapbooking soon.

My DH and I went out last night to a supper and comedian for a men's bonspiel fundraiser (for you US folks that curling:). It was a real treat to be out for the evening. Our kids were well cared for and we had a great supper without inhaling it so I would actually get to eat something, eating cold food and having a toddler whining about their food...........it was very enjoyable!! The entertainment was Big Daddy Taz...........from Winnipeg I think and he was a riot!! My guts and my cheeks are still hurting from laughing so hard! He was pretty clean, funny and made me laugh so hard I cried a few times................just an overall great evening out!! My DH and I needed it  as I feel that we have just been too busy and tired to really meet each other's needs lately.................. :( We need to make a point of doing something again in a month or so before I go back to work. I'm sure I will need the break from the kids and to reconnect with him! Anyway, had a blast!! Going out tonight (I know, twice in one weekend! Such a party girl...........lol.) One of our dear friends and her family are moving back to BC to start their own restaurant. Both of their families are there and I completely see why they decided to move but we are going to miss them dearly!! It will be so hard to say good-bye!! They have been a huge part of our church family and our community for three years now................I wish them all the best with a heavy heart. :(
Been pretty beachy today.............except DH1 and I made rice krispie nests today for the party tonight and we taste tested. There are oh so cute, and yummy!! (but small, does that count??)
Have a beachy day!!

Morning Deb! Glad you came to the realization that you need to take care of you. But you 'have' to do it and planning has been my best friend lately. Because we are mothers, we are on auto pilot for the kids and don't plan out things for ourselves but it's due to being a good parent  You'll do just fine and since you've written it, it Shall/Must be done!

You were a little party girl this weekend. Totally agree with you about DH. We have a date night every other week (usually Friday) but this semester he has class on Friday so changed it to Saturday. It's important to get that QT in with DH for reconnecting purposes. We've found also that we like being in the kitchen together so is a time for us to reconnect/recap our week and/or day. Monday or Thursday is family night each week so we get QT with DD while she still has too

The rice krispy treat was your less than 5% so you're all good  Wishing you a marvelous Monday!

Hello All and thanks for dropping by Wanda!
Things are going ok for me.
I am still sleep deprived and looking into that causes of that. I am going back to work in 3 weeks and if I'm getting up this much at night when I'm working.................well, let's say it won't be pretty!! I am thinking it is gas related because she doesn't burp well (anymore, but did before Christmas). She has been doing a fair bit of solid food since Christmas and maybe I just went into that a little too gung ho....?? I feel like I'm beating her to get a burp (especially when she has solid food............not so bad when she has a bottle) and I spend a lot of time per day trying to get burps/farts out. I have been using ovol and gripe water but at times she still won't lay flat at night. She has been sleeping in her car seat some nights (almost all night). I googled it and I will try some new strategies to work her gassiness out (different movements and ways of holding her as well as, feeding her less food more frequently) but I also need to look into her diet as well. Apparently, dairy products can cause gas so I am first going to try avoiding yogurt (as she eats it daily). We will try it for a week and see what happens.
SB eating is going ok. I have been sitting at the same weight for awhile now and that's ok. I would be ok staying at the weight that I am. I would like to "firm up" a bit but the weight is fine.
I am excited to have my DH home on Good Friday, then her works Saturday and home Sun and Mon........yay!! The kids will be thrilled as well. We will be having Easter supper at his Dad's with lots of family around. It should be nice!!
I am also going to organize and set up my office.............gee I may want to start that one early  Looking at the state it's in............it could take awhile!

Hey Deb, good luck with the gas. I'm so happy those days are over for me. And good luck with the clean up this weekend. I'm looking forward to doing some spring cleaning too and yard clean up - putting out the patio furniture and having a BBQ!! I don't know what it's like for you in Winnipeg, but here in Ottawa it's like summer! It's going to 25 on Friday (that's 80 to you U.S. friends) so the convertible is coming out of storage and I am going to have FUN driving it all weekend long with the kids. And oh yeah, I have to plan the Easter egg hunt... fun!

Hey Lisa, I'm in SK and it gets up to about 10 or 15 during the afternoons here...........so nice!! We have spent more time outside lately and will do so this afternoon again. We will make Easter eggs this afternoon and have an Easter egg hunt on Sunday............DH1 will be so thrilled!! Oh yes, and I need to clean up my office
The gas thing seems to be goin ok. I cut her off of yogurt 2 days ago and she only woke up twice that night. Last night she was up 3 times. In comparison to what was happening before this is progress but we still have some work to do.
Happy Easter all!!

Hey Deb!! I haven't had to deal with a child being up for years but will keep you uplifted in prayer. We surely don't need things to be 'not pretty' when you return to work :P Hoping that eliminating the yogurt does the trick.

Chicago was so nice this weekend! While it really doesn't matter what the weather is for him to pull the grill out, DH did so Saturday and watched the God-daughters while I went do get nails and pedi. Toes weather here since last Thursday but it's against the law to go out without having a pedi here

Hoping you had a wonderful Easter, enjoying DH and the kids today and wishing you a marvelous Monday

We had a great weekend! We had lots of outdoor fun - playing in the park and the sand! We also had lots of chocolate and an Easter egg hunt. We looked at a 5th wheel trailer today and bought it - bring on summer!! Woohoo!! I can't wait to spend tons of time outside this sumemr with my DH and my adorable, rambunctious girls!!
DH2 is sleeping much better - since I cut her off yogurt she has been up 1-3 times/night. I am thrilled!! I don't know if that did the trick or it was coincidence.............or the amount of prayer that has gone out for me and my family........thank you to all that have prayed for us.......we sure appreciate it!! (sniff)
Oh my office..........well I spent a bit of time in there cleaning up but more time with the kids!! The office and the mess in it aren't going anywhere..............too bad!
I hope you all had a great Easter weekend!!
I just love getting a pedicure............I just feel so girlie!!

SCORE for Deb!! Baby steps with her staying sleep all night but sounds like you're heading in a good direction. Again, continuing to pray for you on this.

Now I have to say, do you mean DD2 or DH2?! I cracked up when I read that as I thought to myself initially, 'Her ex lives with her too?' That office will clean itself, just wish what you want it to look like and it'll happen 8)

Hey Wanda.................DH2.............who could deal with 2 of them?? LOL Thank you so much for your continued support and your prayers!
We are heading out this morning to see my girlfriend who lives 7 hours away. With my kids, I'm guessing about 9-10 hrs driving today. They have 2 little boys to play with my 2 girls and she is due in July. She has also built a new house since I was there last so I figured it was time for a visit! If I don't get there now.............it will probably be quite a long time until I see them again! We will be back on Saturday night.
P.S. DD2 has only been up once the past couple of nights..............YAY!!!!! Woohoo!! I sure hope and pray this continues!!
Have a great week all!
Deb
Oh, I weighed in this week and gained 1.5 lbs............. :( I deserved it the way I've been snacking.
Back on the beach today!!

Happy Hump Day Deb! Yet another SCORE for Deb on DD2 waking up only a few times at night  Wonder why the dairy kept her up but hey, who cares if it works, eh?!

Love the way that you're making sure to visit people lately; very motivating. I hate driving so don't get to see friends too much and they are only about 45-60mins away  Keep it up and safe travels to you

p.s. We all seem to be gaining these past few weeks but so is life and back on the Beach and onward bound we go

Hey Deb, I LOL above because I had the same thought as Wanda - DH2??? Hee Hee LOL  You are right! Who could handle 2 of them :?:

Hope you had a great visit with your friends. It's great you are on the road seeing people and the girls get to experience that. I always get nervous going on long car rides with the kids but we make it through. I too gained a couple of weeks ago but was able to drop it the next week. This weekend has been too much snacking and carbs for me, so have to nip that in the bud before Weds weigh in or I'll be up again for sure!!

Take care. 8)
