 funny story! And it is so true that if you really need to evaluate what you are about to put in your mouth that much, then chances are, the food will take over your conscience! I'm working toward Thanksgiving as my semi-cheat day but going on Phase 1 the day or two after to cleanse my system of the ickies and curb any cravings that may abound.

It is all about learning and making accommodations!

I learned to carry a piece of string cheese in my bag, and sugar free candy. If the cravings or hunger really hit the fan, I just pull them out and try to make it home or to a decent diner to have something that fits SB.
Biggest lesson, it never tastes as good as we imagine while fantasizing, and is rarely worth the guilt feelings after. Now, when I am tempted, I just think of how bad I would be kicking my own butt after going off, and that is enough to get me to stop! (Yes, I can be pretty cruel lol).
I will try to start putting down menues. I have been a bit disordered.
Bkfst (very late) leftover lf tuna salad with veggies
S- not really, late bfast
L chicken soup with veggies and salad
S string cheese
D turkey balls with salad; sf jello; few grapes (my late evening "sin")
Keep up the SB, now you now that you are missing nothing not eating the ff's ;-)

Yeah, okay, too funny! :) I just had to write about it because I was laughing out loud while I ate that nasty stuff. It's a wonder they didn't call the police on me!

I think having an "emergency" package in the car might be a good idea. Most of the time I'm pretty good about planning ahead. But this was a pretty big tumble even from me!

jh, love to see your menus here. Gives me ideas. And now that you're in P2, grapes are not exactly a sin, right? :) Lately I've been treating myself with an after dinner coffee with amaretto and splenda. It makes it worth staying on SB all day to get it! LOL! The kids have started calling it Grandma's Fun Coffee.

AND!... yesterday I moved!... on purpose! The tots have this sit and spin toy and it makes the most obnoxious music. The three year old likes to pretend he's Riverdancing to it (who does that!? :)) So, I hit the button again and again and again and the one year old and I danced and shook and shimmied (not a pretty sight!) for about 10 minutes. I'm too busy to sit inactive all day, don't get me wrong, and my part of the house is down a flight of stairs so there's lots of up and down on those, but this was just something extra.

Be kind to yourself today by walking the beach!

So far (will edit as I go!)
B: 1/2C refried beans topped with 2oz lf cheddar, 1C no fat, plain yogurt with spenda and vanilla, coffee
S: Cocoa Almonds
L: two SB friendly tacos on ww tortillas (all veggies included!)
S: Completely forgot
D: Ham slice, mixed veggies drizzled with lf cheese, milk
S: SB friendly popcorn, fudgecicle

Hi Sharley,

Thanks for the nice note on my food log. Thought you might enjoy the Soup recipe I made last night. Found it on the crockpot link on this site I think, but wasn't sure so I thought I'd post it for you. Ate it with some FF Sour Cream. As I said my DH loved it! Having leftovers for lunch today. Have a great day!

3 Bean Turkey Soup
1 c dried kidney beans
1 c. dried great northern beans
1c dried black beans
8 cups water
1 lb ground turkey
1 c chopped onion
3/4 c green pepper, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1-14-1/2 oz cans whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped coarsely
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1-1/2 cups sliced carrots
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp chicken boullion granules
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
(The tomato products are no salt added)

Cover beans with water to 2" above them in a large dutch oven, soak overnight. Drain well, Rinse. Mix beans with 8 cups water in pan, boil. Cover, reduce heat, simmer 1 hour. Put 1/3 c beans in a bow, mash into a paste.
Using cooking spray, saute turkey, onion, pepper & garlic in a an over med high heat. Crumble the turkey while stirring. Drain, Add drained beans, reserved 3 cups water, the bean paste, tomato and other ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hr 15 mins or till beans are tender.

Oh, yummy! I love soup recipes! I make homemade soup at least once a week to keep it as an "I can't find anything to eat!" staple. I'm gonna try it, thank you! :)

Hi Michelle!

Looks like lots of things have happened in the past few days. I was glad to see you shimmied and moved to the music! Every little bit of activity helps! And to top it off, wasn't that one time fun?!?! Acting like or playing with the kiddies is always a blast!

I don't have much time right now, but did want to pop in to say howdy. I'm working a half day today due to my wonderful military travels yesterday/this morning.

We'll be in touch later this week, I'm sure!

Take care!

Hi Sharley, Still laughing after reading your conversation at Long John Silvers. lol. Made my stomach flip thinking about all that grease.

You're simple entertaining suggestions are fabulous. I am not a domestic goddess so any help is good. Still in denial the holidays are upon us. Your suggestions are a good foundation for my entertaining and I can make most of it vegan....I think.

And once again, thanks for stopping by my journal and the friendly scoulding regarding skipping meals

Hope you are all WELL there.

Hi Michelle.
You asked for a food journal, I will try
B Sardines plus cottage cheese, mixed
L chicken soup with veggies ( parsnips, turnips, celery, peppers of colors, onions, cilantro for flavor) then piece of salmon with zucchini (with garlic)
and half an apple (first attempt, hope it won't lead me astray)
The rest to come...
Glad you MOVED, it's hard, but the best is to dance to music, any way you like, just dance around, best is with the kids...enjoy. Makes one feel young. I was over 42 when my son was born, and I keep saying that my secret of looking young is that I can't get old while I am on all fours going quack quack quack! (Well, that was some years back...).
I am still exhausted from the party, plus I worked out on Fri after a long hiatus and now I feel every muscle in my body, not to mention bones and joints lol...
I think your Amaretto coffee sounds delicious, your daily dessert, what the heck. I am sure if you watch the rest, this will not be bad for you. (Here I go making new rules for SB, RedRox would tell me off.)
Keep up the good stuff. We should go and start some new P2 forum, as we abandoned the one you started a while ago.

Good morning jh!

How'd the apple work for you? So far the things I've added in haven't given me any problems at all. It's nice to have so many choices. Now if I could just get someone to come actually fix my meals, and if he's super cute and built like a rock, I might consider letting him feed me too!

Great job on the exercise! I am so impressed. I promise to "move" again today sometime. I'll let you know how that works out! :)

Sardines and cottage cheese? Hmmm, may have to try that one. I like sardines in mustard sauce on saltines. You inspired me to make a crockpot of chicken soup. I hope it's yummy. Thing about these dump soups I make, some are better than others.

Maybe I will start a new P2 Forum post. Thinking on that one.

Enjoy your day and be nice to yourself by walking the beach!

Hi Michelle,
Yes, sardines with cottage! A protein binge. If you can mix with cream cheese, why not with cottage? And yes, sometimes I mix it with mustard. Put inside a half a red pepper and you got a meal! Chicken soup is my savior. It's warm, has protein, veggies and makes you feel like you ate something. I sometime top it off with a salad plus/minus salmon. I don't really cook, my babysitter does it for me, might as well work for the full time i have to pay to keep her. Unfortunately, she is no handsome hunk, rather a plump lady from Guatemala, so I settled for cooking without feeding :-)
I don't like exercise, but I think bodies must move, so I keep this on and off schedule with this trainer of my son, he does soccer with Michael, weights and some floor stuff with me, I am in PAIN! I hope it's worth it.
So far, the apple did no damage, but honestly, it didn't taste as great as I imagined every time I looked in the fridge, so I am only going to eat it sporadically. I think I am losing better this time, on SB, since I don't eat fruit.
Keep dancing, keep the food journals, let's DO it!
