Hey Beth, so glad to hear you dropped weight this week. It's depressing to see that scale go up and for no real reason!! My kids did well with the Easter egg hunt. They read the clues which lead them to the next eggs, but missed a few. Anyway, long story short - they enjoyed it.

I posted in my journal about your run with DS. I said it gets better everytime I go out with my kids. I just tell them that if they want mommy to WIN the race, they have to keep up and stop stopping. Starr always tells me she knows I will win LOL  We have professional athletes from around the world come for our race weekend every May and they do the 10 km (6.2 miles) in something like 17 minutes!!! Ha ha! I'll be happy to get it done in under 1 hour.

Postby purenavygirl » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:27 am

Still tryin' to get used to posting at night instead of first thing in the morning! Oh well, change is inevitable! And usually a good thing... Sometimes.

Today I got my arse outta bed at 5:30 am and was on the treadmill at 6:05 am. I set the pace for 6 mph and jogged/ran it straight thru to 1.5 miles. It took me 15 minutes (and a few seconds... 4 I think.) I was so happy that I didn't have to stop and walk for any of it. With that being said, I know if I push myself next week, I can get a decent time. I'm going to keep conditioning and it'll do my body good!

...anywho....

After my 15 minutes on the treadmill, I bounced over to the E-Beast for 15 more minutes on interval training plus about 2-3 minutes of cool down. Then, I went through the weight room and did all the leg machines and most of the arm machines (no butterfly and no row machine). I did the lower back machine and also worked out my abs/obliques. Of course, I ended my workout with stretching out for a few minutes.

 I'm proud of myself today.

My food has been really decent, although odd. I got everything in (I think). I was so happy to be out the door early this morning that I forgot my morning snack. Then, at lunch, I was running late getting back and didn't grab an afternoon snack.

However, I contained myself when foods were available again. I wasn't about to make my workout this morning not worth it! heh heh heh

Hi Wanda - I got your PM, so you're on my list. I'll definitely keep updates with anyone who wants to keep in touch.

Christin - Thanks for stopping by! I usually am a more leisurely walker, but with PRT coming up, I need to push myself a little harder. But, yes, DS love to go on bike rides and he'll usually ride fairly far for all the older he is. I will definitely take advantage of that as much as I can! And, as far as the deployment goes, I would go over there in a heartbeat in order to keep the mess over there and off of US soil. I couldn't imagine our little ones growing up with that in their back yard...

Lisa - Thanks for the encouragement on DS. He's just a bull headed almost four year old! LOL (A little like his Momma!) He is usually so competitive that I thought he’d want to “beat” me, and he did, but was too lazy to put forth the effort. I think until after I do my run next week, Family Exercise will be put on hold in my household.

He he! Another turkey ball lover! Yeah, girl, go for it! They DO taste good and are good cold in a salad, warm w veggies or straight up for snacks. Just roll w the turkey balls! :-)

Of course I want to keep in touch. Don't you disappear on me! You have my info from way back, so there....

Love your stories of family activities w DS, so cute! Mine turned 13 yesterday! Can't believe it. Looked at some old video clips from when he was a baby, figuring out how to make it from table to sofa on two legs, almost cried. Too touching. We forget how adorable they are when they are that small.

I am OK, more in my jrnl, just wanted to come by to visit and see what you have been up to! (running on the dreadmill, then ebeast...wow).

xoxo

It always amazes me reading posts of people that get up and workout at 6am!!! You rock. I'm just not a happy morning person. I used to do that when I was in my 20s but not anymore. Sounds like you're doing awesome Beth. Keep up the great work. 8)

A Woman of Many Hats

Postby purenavygirl » Sun Apr 11, 2010 9:51 pm

Hi Guys!

I'm here, just in for a quick update. I don't have much time on the weekends, and now that I have internet, I probably still won't post much. haha! I guess that's just how Life goes...

I didn't exercise today. I think I needed the weekend off. I've been doing alright, although, I can't remember what I've eaten most of the day! (Faulty Memory error...)

However, I just made DH a batch of chocolate chip cookies and I did eat 3 of them. I feel all stuffed and yucky from all the sugar. Dinner is in the oven and I will make up for it by eating healthy veggies and some chicken. DH and DS are having baked potates and I'm having rainbow slaw. 8)

Tomorrow starts another week and I'm planing to get up and do the E-Beast at home before I get DS ready for preschool. I'll probably add some ab work and push ups as well.

As for Tuesday, I plan to get to the gym and do the dreadmill for 30 minutes and some weight lifting.

Wednesday will be something, just not sure what.

Thursday I will be at my NOSC, so it will be whatever PT is. I'm hoping some type of cardio.

Friday will be my PRT: 1.5 mile run, push ups and sit ups. (Keep me in your thoughts, I'll need the strength to do good!)

Anyway, with that, I better get going. I'm not posting my menu as I can't remember it all. I confessed my cookies, so I think I'm good. I know there might be a trip to Dairy Queen later, so I might have an ice cream. A small one. It's my treat for the day (with exception of the cookies). I'll be back hitting the sand tomorrow.

With that, have a wonderful evening.

Love ya!

Turkey balls. *giggle* Because I'm 11! ha haa.

Your menus are always so inspiring. I just stink at planning and I never really can tell how much of anything Ive had. I'm not GOOD at this SBD thing, but I do stick to it best I can.

And at the risk of sounding like Im blowing sunshine up your behind, Im also totally impressed with your dedication to exercise. I am a laaaaaazy girl.

Morning Beth! Glad to hear you're doing well and back on the Beach today after the weekend 8) We all deserve an 'off' day without guilt as long as we don't make them day after day after day!

'Planning' on trying the turkey balls and zuchini parm recipes this week. Key word planning :| It's sometimes hard for me to plan dinner when I exercise the nights DH doesn't have school and he usually had dinner done. We'll see what the week brings for me. Need to get it under control with the stress drinking as i've been bad over the past few weeks. But again, back to the Beach.

Wishing you a marvelous Monday...come on, let's Roll Out 8)

He he he I see my turkey balls are a success!!!!! So glad I could contribute! Take a look at the veggie soup blended in my jrnl. I kind of like it and it does make you feel full.
Myself...having some yucky days. Won't complain here, as I did in my own jrnl already, just sayin'.....
Have a great week, Beth! You are doing SO well! Wish it would rub off on me a little! :-)

A Woman of Many Hats

Postby purenavygirl » Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:19 pm

The days are really flying by... I can't believe tomorrow is already my last day at work!!! I'm a little excited and nervous. It means D-Day is quickly approaching.

I didn't post yesterday. I was extremely busy and ended up doing some things after work and didn't have time to log on. I did really well until dinner time. We decided to have order out from our fav local spot. I ordered a half of a fried pork tenderloin sandwich and an order of real fries. Wow, was I hurting later that night. The grease about did me in. :( I know, my own fault. I did have onions and pickles on my sandwich. That counts for veggies, right? I did say no to the SF ice cream sandwich my Mom offered me. Oh, and to top things off, I didn't get my rear in gear yesterday morning to exercise either. What a flop of day.

On to better things, with an exception or two... Today has been really good to me. I got up and went to the gym this morning. I paced myself at 6.5 mph on the treadmill and did my 1.5 miles in a shake over 14 minutes. In a week, I've skimmed a minute off my time. Yay! I know that if I push it on Friday, I'll hit my goal of under 14 minutes. (13:20 would be nice, but I'm not sure if I can skim that much off my run yet again...I'm going to do my damnedest!)

I also did all of the arm weights, except the butterfly machine, and some ab/oblique work, finishing it out with some decent stretching.

I just pulled Jeff's zucchini mock cheese sticks out of the oven. I'M IN LOVE! OMG - I was going to save them for dessert, but I've eaten half of them!

Heather - Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I've read that you've been going thru a ton of difficulty and I'm impressed that you've been able to take care of yourself as well as you have. You rock it too! As far as exercise, you'll learn to love it one of these days. heh heh I have to stay in shape for the Navy, so that's most of my drive. Plus, I hate to admit, I'm becoming slightly addicted to the sweaty feeling of exercise! Oh, btw, I giggle at Turkey BALLS too!!! I’ll stop by when I have a few minutes one of these decades…

Wanda, dear, thanks for the lovely words, as usual! I’m still rollin’ along the best I can. I am so addicted to stopping in here, it’s not even funny. I love all the support and it’s so great seeing all of you so close to your goals. I’m so happy we made our gym pact and are sticking to it! I know it’s helping me handle the stress and I hope it’s helping you somewhat, too. And, kudos to you for acknowledging the stress drinking and attempting to do something about it.

Judi, Love, you’re doing alright, too. I wish I knew how to send some of me your way. I’ve been reading your updates, but unfortunately, I’m really not sure how to respond. The whole sabotage idea is pretty much foreign to me so I wouldn’t have much content worth a crap if I did write. However, I will continue to be one of your biggest cheer leaders and support you in the best way I can. I know you will stick to SB. You’ve done it this long and have seen some positive results. I know you will get to your goal weight in due time. You know the WOE, you know yourself and your limits, you are excising. As you’ve pointed out, we’re all different and it will take some time. And, of course, our slip ups here and there all make a difference. I guess it’s just learning to be patient with ourselves. Accept that we will make mistakes and that they will temporarily slow us down. It’s all part of the cycle. But, we’re still strollin’ with our heads held high! By the way, I did check out your veggie soup blend. Sounds delicious! I will have to try it some time (before I leave, hopefully).

With that, I'm off to do a BUNCH of house work/chores/tasks/etc. I will be back tomorrow. Love to all! xoxoxox

PS – I can’t remember all what I ate yesterday, but I already confessed my fried indulgence for dinner last night.

Hey Beth, you are doing great! I hope you enjoy your last day at work tomorrow. You must be getting nervous with D day approaching so fast. Your menu looks great too. I've never been one to try too many new recipes but zuchini and turkey balls actually sound quite yummy. Maybe one of these days I'll venture out and make something. I'm addicted to the BBB and would never have known that had I not tried the recipe in the first place right?

Anyway, hope you had a good evening Beth.
