I just wanted to stop in really quick to say that I weighed in at 143.6 again today and I am very happy about that because I felt like I ate a lot this weekend but I didn't gain and usually I gain a little on the weekends so this week I am starting even! I feel like I have been cheating because I made the zucchini lasagna and I added spinach and mushrooms and it is sooooo delicious and I have been eating a ton but it is all south beach. It is a great thing to have in the refrigerator for when you are really hungry. I am looking forward to this week....hopefully it will be full of lots of exercise, vegetables, and water! I am so relieved that I finally feel a little better and that I am sticking with it. It totally makes a difference if you stick with it and not go off for too long but the occasional cheats are ok, they just can't happen too often! I am so lucky to have this board to gain motivation and ideas and support. Have a great day everyone!

Wow Maureen, you are doing awesome!! I'm so happy for you and you are motivating me to get back on the proper SB track. You must be so proud of yourself for dealing with the hospital visit so well this time!! I wish I could say I'm where you're at but I'm not. Just got back from the week away (see my journal) and need to do some serious work on myself. I'm not really sure what I'm doing except that I'm eating too much and definitely eating way too many carbs while I was away!!

Can you post the zucchini lasagna recipe? Sounds yummy. I have a plan for the week, and a fun weekend to look forward to (2 in a row) so I'm motivated. Thanks for your kind words in my journal.

Thank you onami and Lisa! I would not be as motivated if I didn't log in here & see everyone else
trying hard too to change their unhealthy habits. I am on my phone so can't say much but I wanted to write in that the scale said 143.0 today.....I am excited that I am still down and this is the week before my TOM and since I have been really watching my carbs, my pms symptoms have decreased a ton.....usually I am miserable, grumpy, and mean right now & I don't like to be me the week before I start but I feel ok right now. I don't feel as bloated & heavy which is great.
Lisa, I don't go by measurements usually when I cook, I go by taste & feel but basically, I made lasagna but mixed spinach in the ricotta cheese & sliced a zucchini long ways to look like pasta noodles and layered the zucchini with mushrooms, marinara sauce, cheese mixture twice then topped with mozzarella....yum, yum, yum! I am making more this evening with Turkey meatballs on the side.
I did p90x shoulders and arms on Sunday & 1 hour of cardio yesterday...I found that I need to do at least 1 hour of cardio machines 4-5 times a week to keep the scale going down....the other days I am going to do a p90x weight dvd. I feel like my body is responding without being horribly streased or time- consuming. Gotta go, I am taking my MIL to an all day eye appointment since she is losing her vision due to macular degeneration & can no longer drive. I am so happy to help her but o am also so tired of spending so much time waiting in Dr. Offices

I was very excited to see the scale this am...142.7 lbs. I am sure it will go up again but this is the first I have seen 142 since my son had his emergency surgery last summer. That hospitalization put me in the worst funk and I gained back over 10 lbs that I had already lost. I am tired of working so hard to lose the same pounds over and over again. I am going to stick with this because I finally feel so much better. I know that I will feel even better than this so I can't wait! I am craving chocolate right now because of my TOM so I might have a little later. I know that it won't ruin me and I am not going to feel guilty about it. I will savor it. :P I have a crazy busy day today so off I go.......going to make some black bean soup to keep in the fridge and some sort of veggie casserole. My daughter ate all of my zucchini lasagna!! This WOL is great for my whole family. Going to get some water right now then face my mountain of laundry from the girls being away at camp. UUUgGghhhhhhh....

Thank you Lisa! Well......I was not so fantastic this weekend. I had horrible cravings and let them get the best of me. :( Oh well, got my TOM this am and there are no excuses now. I am back on and I am going to try to get some exercise in today. My daughter had 6 girls over for a sleepover and there is so much junk food in the house and I didn't get to exercise but I am over it and getting back on track. I like the feeling that I have when I am doing well much better than the feeling that I have when I cheat. The cheats that I did this weekend were not worth it. Oh well, they are done and I am looking forward now. Going to start cleaning and hopefully drive on the beach later to have a family day. I golfed 9 holes yesterday with my husband and I did really well for me. I truly think it was because I felt so much more comfortable in my body since I have been eating well for the past few weeks. It totally makes a difference in relaxation on the golf course when your body feels good! :D Hopefully I can get to the point that I feel like spending money on some cute clothes soon! Have a great day everyone!

HI Lisa! I am so glad that you are having such an awesome week! Life is so much better when we finally get in control. I had some weak moments last weekend and a couple this week but I actually went down a smidge which is exciting for me. I was sure that I was going to have a gain. The scale said 141.8 lbs this am which made me very happy. We are right in the path of the eye of Hurricane Irene and my MIL, SIL, BIL, and niece are coming to stay with us since my MIL's house is on the first ocean block. We are about a mile from the ocean. My mom is not happy that we are staying, she wants us to evacuate to her house which is about 2 hours north inland because of Beau and his medical equipment and everything but we are going to stay. It is so much work to move him and we have 2 generators, lots of water, and of course food. Hopefully it is not as bad as they say and hopefully I can stick to my eating plan through it all. I got 3 workouts in this week and hopefully will do something today and tomorrow if I have time. Right now, I have tons of cleaning to do with the "guests" coming. I am feeling stressed so I might do a yoga dvd this afternoon after some cleaning is done. It feels so much better to do yoga with a few pounds off of my frame! I like my body a lot more this month than last month and I am hoping next month will be even better!

141!!!! That's AWESOME! Is that your lowest since starting SB?? I'm down a couple now that I'm on top of how much healthy food I'm actually consuming! I'm away for the weekend having a very healthy time. Loving healthy weekends away.

Stay safe with all this hurricane news. We're watching it on TV up here...

Hi girls! We were safe through the hurricane but I think that I gained some weight back and I can't face the scale until Friday. I am so mad because I was so motivated on Friday morning and it all went down hill because the gym closed for three days and I didn't get a chance to get a workout in. We had in-laws stay with us and we just sat around watching the weather since there were tornado warnings and they wouldn't know until the last few moments. I did get a shower at one point and there was all this banging on the door and my daughter was yelling that we had to get in the basement because a tornado was coming for our actual development. It was kind of tense but funny too because I ran down with wet hair and my robe and my almost 15 year old was mortified that I wasn't dressed in front of her grandmother. LOL! We were very fortunate because that tornado missed us but damaged about 15 houses that were a few minutes north of us. There were no injuries in our area and our power stayed on which was great. It seems like the flooding was a lot worse inland so I am so happy we stayed home. My sister lost power on Saturday and she isn't supposed to get it back until Thursday or longer. It is dreadful, especially with 4 kids and 3 that started school yesterday! She is handling it well though.
Well, I have got to get my eating back on track. I don't feel as relaxed as I was and I think the carbs are making me feel anxious. I did go for a 6 mile walk/jog on the beach and did some yoga on Monday which felt wonderful but I need a really good gym workout. I also need to try some new recipes.....getting bored with what I am eating even though it has been working. I need to start to change things up a bit. Hopefully the next couple of days will be ok and I won't be horrified when I get on the scale on Friday.

Maureen,

So glad your family is safe and not flooded, that looks like such a mess! Don't stress out too bad about your weigh in on Friday, stressing won't help, just get back into the groove and I'm sure you'll have plenty more success to celebrate. You've been doing so well lately!!

Glad you and family are ok (hug)....yeah,unfortunately,Life happens and throws our plans off But only the strong can get right back on that horse and continue or find another way to get'er done and you are definitely strong.Whatever the scale says Friday will be OK cause you're mentally in the game, will get back to your routine and will continue to fight for what you want. :)
