Hi Grace & Maureen,

Glad you're pumped Maureen! Today I did the back to back class. The Jam was kind of tame today so not as energy intense as usual, so the Pump didn't seem too bad... 2 hours!! Wow! I will hurt tomorrow. Went for dinner after the workout at Wendys and needed sugar, so had a tiny junior frosty. It was delicious. Although more than my 80 calorie sweet treat, totally worth it.Tomorrow we go for a 50th b-day dinner party at a great restaurant! I may allow a carb in there - maybe sweet potatoes? Not sure yet....Day 11 down and feeling fine.

B: 1 egg/eggwhite omelette with spinach, peppers, lean ham, lf cheese;
L: spinach salad with lf cheese, x-lean salsa taco meat, oil&vinegar dressing
S: grande NF latte, celery and cream cheese;
D: Wendy's baja salad with large chili, Wendy's jr frosty
S: 15 almonds
Exercise: 60 minute BodyJam; 60 minute BodyPump

I just posted this in Maureen's journal but thought I should put it in here too... just some lessons I have 'remembered' doing this fresh P1 on SBD.

When I eat carbs and / or sugar in the morning, say cereal or toast for breakfast, I set myself up to want sugar / carbs for lunch and dinner too. It's like I crave bad things for the rest of the day. If I eat carb free for Breakfast and Lunch, and have that healthy carb (say whole wheat pasta) for dinner, I'm good! I also save fruit for the afternoon, after lunch. I found the past 2 months with the Disney vacation, and Christmas parties, I was having carbs at every meal (like the old days) and sugar treats every day!! No wonder I gained 10 1bs in such a short time.

I find walking the SB is really a lesson in discovery, learning what works for me, which could be very different than what works for you. It's quite cool!!

My body HURTS today...... :mrgreen:

Lisa, I'm the exact same way with carbs in the morning. I know other people can have their oatmeal, but if I have even a slice of ww bread with my protein and veggies, I'm ravenous the rest of the day. And if I have a sandwich with two slices of bread for lunch, I could sleep all afternoon. So I try and save my carbs for dinner or at least until my late afternoon snack. Lots of people seem happier with their starchier breakfast, but I can't do it. Once in a while I'll treat myself to a ww pancake with my egg, but I'm usually sorry by around 11am!!

Hey Lisa,

Happy Birthday!!! Hope you are enjoying your day. :)

Love the tips you posted with your fresh eyes view of P1. I have been encouraged reading your thoughts and ideas. Great work on your weight loss and your constant commitment to exercise. Got a walk in today and am walking at school a lot every day connecting with our high school students, BUT I need to lift, etc.

Have a good one today and an awesome year, Lisa!

Hi Chris, glad I'm not the only one. :lol:
Hi Grace, it's not my b-day, it's a friend of mine, but thanks anyway. :mrgreen:

So yesterday was good. No exercise but did get my house cleaned, and enjoyed dinner out with our friends. I had some tortilla chips with spinach dip that was sitting on the table when we arrived, but other than that, kept it very P1!! This is how the menu went yesterday:

b: P1 ricotta waffles with sugar-free syrup
L: chili and salad with oil&vinegar dressing
S: low fat yogurt, 15 almonds;
d: sirloin steak, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, caesar salad, spinach dip with chips (just a few)

Today I'm heading to my super fun Zumba class with a newbie. Love taking new people. I see movies in my future until the 3 pm class. It's FREEZING here!
I'll post today's menu later.

Thanks for sending that arctic Canadian air our way, Lisa! It's -6 F here, my dishwasher line is frozen and I'm washing by hand. Definitely working out indoors today!

You're so amazing sticking to P1 again. I just can't do it myself, mostly I think because I need to have some fruit. But you're inspiring all of us.

Time to get moving and do my workout....Stay warm!

Thanks Chris! So I made the transition to P2 today. Started with some much wanted whole wheat pasta at dinner. It was yummy but I'm so exhausted right now and wondering if it's a reaction...? Or I'm just really tired from not getting enough sleep on the weekend. :roll: Really enjoyed my Zumba class yesterday. Pushed it hard. Fun!

Today was a good day.

b: 1 egg/eggwhite omelette with spinach, peppers, lean ham, lf cheese;
L; spinach salad with lean ham, lf cheese, oil&vinegar dressing, chick peas;
S: celery and cream cheeese, 15 almonds; V8 juice
D: whole wheat pasta with homemade meat sauce, salad, oil&vinegar dressing
S: BBB with nf cool whip

Tomorrow I'm doing my regular spinning class after work, followed by a NEW aqua Zumba class in the pool! Then dinner with a friend. Sounds awesome! Better bring some good snacks to get me through it. :wink:

So I'm home from work SICK right now... and I'm 99% sure it's from over-exertion last night!! I went to the gym, as planned... did my regular 50 minute spinning class, followed by some abs, stretching, then a few laps in the pool. Then did the 60 minute aqua Zumba class... never did it before, thought it was a bit lame (compared to land Zumba) but pushed it hard. So after that 2.5 hours, I felt weak, dizzy, starving (had snacks before/during but...) so friend and I went to find food and I was feeling very hungry. Ate a nice greek salad with some chicken and even treated myself to a non fat gelato after.

This morning, got up to very sore muscles but felt fine. Got to work and BAM! Just weak, tired, dizzy... blah! barely wrapped up a few things then made it home and slept for 3.5 hours! Woke up starving!! So I'm enjoying some green tea and a quiet house now, and feeling somewhat better but still not normal. Man... I really think I overdid it... didn't drink enough water, pushed it too hard, maybe didn't eat enough... Lesson learned - never again.

Good news is I lost another 1 1b so 7 1bs gone in 2 weeks. Feeling great about that.

Hope you're all enjoying your week.

Having only a salad for dinner after a 2 1/2 hour workout! Of course you didn't eat enough. A huge bowl of chili and a salad would have been better. Or your BBB's - ya need those good carbs. I'm surprised you didn't collapse, LOL!

Well I had a big chicken breast and a skewer of 5 shrimp with my greek salad, plus the gelato for the sugar. I probably needed some carbs too. I almost did collapse!! CRAZY EH?

Hi Kyan, it's hard to watch BL because DH despises it!! Too bad... plus I tend to go out Tuesday nights. :| But I'll check in there.

So I stayed home again today from work. Just think I need to take it easy and STOP for once. So I enjoyed the house to myself, watching TV and surfing the net all day, and just doing nothing. I'm still feeling off and I'm not sure exactly what it is. I'll see how I sleep tonight but may take tomorrow too. Last night was not a good sleep at all.

So I had a doctor appointment this morning (scheduled previously) to get a medical certificate so I can take a scuba diving course with DH so we can dive when we're in Mexico. I have exercise induced asthma so need the note. Well the doctor said NO!!! :cry: He said because i have to use the inhaler before I work out, it's too risky to dive. I'm so disappointed because it's something DH and I wanted to do together, and now it's off the table entirely. I guess of course I have to stay safe, but I'm really hating asthma today. :twisted:

So the menu went like this today:

b: 1 egg/eggwhite omelette with spinach, peppers, lean ham, lf cheese;
L: ricotta pancakes (P1); V8 soup
S: fat free vanilla yogurt, nuts
D: Subway chicken salad with ranch dressing on side
S: home made banana loaf... just had to have a slice.
Excercise: NONE today

Hey, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by my board. I can't believe how much exercise you get! The only exercise I'm getting is chaseing after the baby. I did get the jogging stroller out. We've used it a few times. But most days it's been too cold or rainy to have him out. I hope you are feeling better. It's good that you are able to take the time off of work. When our bodies tell us it's time for a break, we better listen!

Too bad about the scuba diving, Lisa! That must be a big disappointment for you. Maybe you can at least snorkel somewhere. The snow is flying here, so just the thought of being somewhere warm enough to swim is exciting!

I hope your body gets back to normal. Maybe you've got a little ketosis going on. Maybe you need a batch of your black bean brownies. Oops, I see you treated yourself with some banana bread. I had a little square of crumb cake last night that I made for the guys. All that bread staring at me isn't helpful either. But my son who works at the bakery is staying home - he's done with college. So I have to keep my will power going somehow!!

Yes maybe it is Ketosis Chris... Just light headed and a bit dizzy when I move around. I stayed home today too and am feeling okay but not 100%. I'm kind of wanting to go to my 4:30 BodyJam class, but will see how I feel around 3:30. Maybe not a good idea today. Have plans to go with a friend tomorrow so will likely wait and skip today.

Getting bored lying around my house but kind of nice to just stop and do nothing for days on end. Busy weekend coming up so hopefully will get a good night's sleep tonight - did last night thank God!!
