Thanks YB and sending the same your way

So yesterday I began to post and lost it :x My own fault as I know when it takes too long to post, it times you out so normally I’ll copy what I typed before hitting submit but, of course, didn't do that. Hope I can remember because I was TOO angry at that one!

On Tuesday evening, my menu went as listed below with the addition of s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip, s-dark chocolate pistols.

8/19/09
b-starbucks venti skinny iced hazelnut latte
l-baked chicken w/ green beans, onions, spanish veggies & 1 ½ TBSP mashed potatoes
d-cheetos 1oz bag (made a white rice dish for the family & just felt like I shouldn’t eat that since I had the TBSP of mashed taters for lunch)
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip

8/20/09
b-ww english muffin topped w/ ICBNB & natural pb, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-deli sliced ham, ff cheese, evoo mayo on rye bread (1 slice), yogurt (flavor TBD)
d-salad greens w/ boiled egg & cheese, balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Since we all know I have NO clue how to attach files here I am posting my new exercise plan. B-i-l gave me a new program and even though I got an A+ and smiley face, he majorly upped my numbers. He said that I was “more advanced than he thought”. Imagine that Ladies…me…”advanced”, lmao. Even though last week was a wash on exercise, I got back on the horse and it hurt something horrible, let me tell ya! BUT, I don’t feel as if it was in vain. The goal is to go down the list once and back up again. I got down the list yesterday but it was hard. What I did, however, was incorporate my medicine ball along with light hand weights and worked the obliques to get in a full workout. He’s got me on 4wk increments so I have this time to work my way back up the list. This week, of course, I will focus on getting down the list and next week possibly going up from 20-15-10. Feel like that is a steady climb without becoming discouraged. Planning this way allows me to feel that even though I didn’t work out last week, the progress I’ve made isn’t thrown out of the window which was my ultimate goal. When I trained for a mini-marathon I worked out 6-7 days a week and the moment you stop that, it all returns and that just isn’t cool at all. Hopefully, with God & you all, I will persevere :)

I’ve got a recap-wedding party to go to on Saturday so had hoped to eat very well this week to offset all the drinking that will go on. Didn’t do Too bad but not too good either. I’ll get there though; I promise. Send good thoughts and prayers please and thank you!

I’m hoping you all are having a most wonderful week and only one day left in the work week…whooo hoooo!!! I’ll be even happier next week when Baby Girl is back in school  She starts her sophomore year and can’t wait for volleyball/basketball season to start…Go Panthers! Peace & Blessings to all.

Postby mrsgjr » Fri Aug 21, 2009 2:20 pm

YB, lmao :!: This is the new plan he gave me as the older one was a beginning point. For record keeping purposes, I will post the beginning workout plan below. I did this for a total of 8wks and went down twice and up once = 3xs. This worked for me so he increased the numbers to the last posting. The jump rope alone is good (he says) when incorporated with another exercise 8) I do the no rest exercise 2 days and same for the abdominal & jump rope but not on the same day so get 4 days in the week of workout. My goal was to get in 3-4 days so if I get to 3, I’m good and 4 is a wonderful week!

So I'd posted the following menu for 8/20/09 so following is the update:
l-deli sliced ham, ff cheese, evoo mayo on rye bread (1 slice), yogurt (flavor TBD)
d-salad greens w/ boiled egg & cheese, balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Flavor of the yogurt was blueberry and d-roasted zucchini, squash, yellow onion, red bell pepper and garlic, s-2 sf hershey caramel filled 30 calorie candies. I felt so good after my workout that I didn't want to put anything too bad back into my body. Today will go something like this:

8/21/09
b-ww english muffin topped w/ ICBNB & natural pb, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4), 1 1/2 cup of strawberries and grapes, 2 TBSP plain yogurt topped with a tsp granola
l-deli sliced ham, ff cheese, mustard on wheat bread & roasted veggies
d-baked chicken breast & roasted veggies

I am so very full after the brekkie this morning. The reason I ate like that is because we have early Friday and I don't always eat lunch because I want to get out of here. Normally I walk and if I haven't eaten, well we all know how that can do. Felt like a big brekkie would hold me over until my walk to the train (about a mile). Since I hadn't gotten in any exercise last week and only began this week on Wednesday, I have to work out today and tomorrow to make up. Proud of my commitment to do the back to back days as I'm a tad bit sore today but that's what happens when you take a week off (b-i-l talk, not me ).

Well it is my hope that you all have a Fabulous Friday and an even better weekend! Wishing you all success and remember, "I am available to more good than I have experienced, realized or imagined before in my life!" Peace & Blessings on our journey on the path of a better WOL

Yesterday's menu actually went like this

8/21/09
b-ww english muffin topped w/ ICBNB & natural pb, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4), 1 1/2 cup of strawberries and grapes, 2 TBSP plain yogurt topped with a tsp granola
l-roasted veggies
s-garretts popcorn (3 c)
s-pb ricotta (2 TBSP)
d-mc'd 1/2 big mac, 1 c french fries
s-sunflower seeds
Exercise: No rest workout, 4 sets of 15 oblique rotation

If any of you have been to Chicago, then you know what Garrett's Popcorn is. The family placed an order and I just couldn't resist having some cheese...but even worse that we were so busy yesterday didn't get home and resorted to a Big Mac for dinner. I recall someone posting that sometimes when you feel that you have strayed, you continue as you feel like, "well I already got off the path so may as well indulge in this!" Thankfully this was not my thought process so this morning I got back on the horse. I didn't get a full workout in but I did get some walking and hit my goal of working out 3 days yesterday so feel good about that.

Today my daughter and I went shopping for a few additional outfits for school. I freaked out just a bit as she has been in Catholic School for 12yrs and we had to transfer her to a public school. Translation: No more uniform and have to buy street clothes for everyday wear. So this morning off we go and you may recall me saying she just got her drivers permit and today was her day to drive us where we needed to go. It was her first day driving on what we call a highway at 50mph and while we were both terrified, we got through it together. She actually did a good job being this was her first time going that fast. I could see her gripping the wheel and she made mention of her tight shoulders at the last store so told her this was due to the nervousness. There were occasions where I needed to correct her but did so calmly and she received it well (patting myself on the back  ) I think after this, I deserve a nice cocktail:!::!: DH & i are going to a friend's home for apps & cocktails. Knowing my girlfriend, there will be healthy apps at the gathering so should be easy to find something SB friendly to munch on. Now the drinking...that's another thing :? I am in this for life so it is up to me but ask for good thoughts please and thank you in advance.

8/22/09
b-cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
s-pb ricotta (2TBSP)
l-ww pita pocket (1/2) stuffed w/ roasted veggies & rf monteray jack cheese
s-garretts popcorn (1 c)
d-tbd
Exercise: Walked 2miles (5579 steps) shopping with daughter

I'm going to have to see what the allowance is on the pb ricotta. I used 1/2 c of ricotta w/ 2 TBSPs of natural pb but only eating 2 TBSP at a time but it is SO good wondering if I can eat a small amount more often:?: :!:

Well have to get ready so wish me luck! Hoping your days find you closer to you goals. Wishing you a healthy and successful SB friendly weekend

Greetings!

As I said, my girlfriend was going to have some SB friendly foods at the gathering: d-shrimp cocktail (1), spinach dip w/ Hawaiian bread (2 TBSP), tomato slice & fresh mozzarella topped w/ basil (2), smoked pork breast on italian bread sandwich (1/2), white wine sangria (5 sm glasses) and fruit (kiwi, grapes, apples, pears & strawberries)

8/23/09
b-ww english muffin topped w/ ICBINB & natural pb (1 TBSP), cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
s-pb ricotta (2 TBSP)
l-qdoba chicken tortilla soup w/ a few chips
s-sunflower seeds
d-ww pita pocket (1/2) stuffed w/ roasted veggies & rf monteray jack cheese (2 TBSP)
Exercise: abdominal workout, 10 sets of 100 jump rope

Family things going on this afternoon so short posting today. Take care.

Hello Mrsg! Sorry it's been so long since I've had time to visit you here :) Before I forget, I use 1/2 c reduced fat ricotta and 2T natural pnut butter, a little splenda and a splash of vanilla extract. You can sprinkle in some cinnamon for a new flavor! The pnut butter's label says 2 T is a serving and the prob about eating more is that it's high in calories even though we don't count them; also it's healthy fats, the oil is, but fats nonetheless. Hope that helps.

You did marvi at the party...so happy for you! And your riding with dd and the shopping trip brought back fond memories of my hanging on for dear life while dd drove us home from church in Houston one evening. She ALMOST rammed into the back of a semi, not judging how close she was to his tail end. If I'd not grabbed the wheel at the last second, we'd have been folded up like an accordian, smashed into his rear end. Those were the days....NOT!!! Yeah, those street clothes after uniforms is a little scary for us moms, huh. Lots of changes for you, sending happy supportive wishes your way :)

Can't believe you're in shape enough to do all those exercises. I'm like YB in that just reading the list totally wears me out AND it scares me...will I have to do all those to get to goal weight...oh my goodnes...say NO...please!! I've lost 93 lbs so far, so excited to hit the 100 pound off mark and then head farther down the scale. Such a crazy thing to have allowed myself to get so big and stay that way for so many years. So glad you're getting healthy from a lower beginning weight so you'll never have to know the pain of being over three hundred pounds. Hey...you take GOOD care of yourself, get plenty of rest and enjoy your dd all you can. How quickly they grow up! Hugs and best wishes for your week ahead. Gramma

Thanks for dropping by Gramma! I know you've been busy so I've been in your journal so you know I'm sitting waiting for you on the beach  I am so very proud to have read you total weight loss; you have to feel a sense of accomplishment and if not, you should! Even though I don't know your starting weight, I do know the pain even at a lower weight. I'm only 5'2" and at one point was in a size 18-20 and that was not comfortable to carry around at all. Please know it's not easy at ANY starting weight when you're overweight  You keep up the good work, focus and will achieve that goal of hitting that 100lb mark...will be waiting to celebrate with you  BTW, do you eat the ricotta all in one sitting or over the course of a few days? I did use your exact recipe as you listed below but used equal as I don't care for splenda but only ate 2 TBSP at a time for 3 days. Thoughts on that??

8/23/09 actually went like this
l-qdoba chicken tortilla soup w/ a few chips (POSTED)
s-sunflower seeds (POSTED)
d-ww pita pocket (1/2) stuffed w/ roasted veggies & rf monteray jack cheese (2 TBSP) (POSTED)

l/d-qdoba chicken tortilla soup w/ a few chips, nachos w/ ground beef & chicken crispy taco (ACTUAL) Yesterday was my little sister's birthday so had a bit of a treat!
s-sunflower seeds (ACTUAL)

Was very happy to find the scale on 145.0 this morning as it meant i'm down another 2lbs from the previous week after gaining for 2wks even with my menu this week. I posted the following on a thread:
I am so happy to report the scale reading 145.0lbs this morning which is 2lbs down from last week :!: I'm realizing, however, that 140lbs may not be my ultimate goal but need to get some measurements because that may be what I want more. My initial goal weight is 140lb and this may be realistic if i'm losing the inches at this weight. Been doing my exercising & hoping this will help me realize what it is exactly that I need more than want. What I want is to be healthy and comfortable in my body, not skinny, just comfortable. Family body structure leaves me curvy, which i'm fine with, but don't want the excess weight to drag me down. I've got more energy today than I have in a few years (when I stopped the beach back in late 2007) so feel optimistic about achieving the goal but concerned about maintaining. I know with you all by my side, I can achieve anything!

I am getting ready to take my sophomore daughter and senior nephew to school this morning so will be a short post. Not sure on the menu for today but will make sure it is mainly SB friendly so that I don't ruin the work i've done :| Wishing all a SB friendly week!

Ugh, probably added back those 2lbs this afternoon
8/24/09
b-starbucks grande skinny iced hazelnut latte
l-china chef szechwan chicken, onions w/ shrimp fried rice, veggie egg roll w/ soy sauce
d-scrambled eggs w/ ff cheese, grits (2 TBSP), biscuit (1) OR nf key lime yogurt (thinking the latter of the 2 as I'm still full from lunch)
Exercise: None today. There is a very slight possibility I may do 10 sets of 100 jump rope but not certain :|

Planned 8/25/09
b-nf strawberry yogurt & cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-turkey honey roasted deli meat, ff cheese, mustard on ww bread, fruit (strawberries & grapes)
d-hamburger on ww slice of bread, ff cheese, lettuce, tomato, mustard, french fries (1 c)
Exercise: No rest exercise, 4 sets of 15 oblique rotation/stretch & 3 sets of 20 light weights

It is very difficult for me to plan out a menu sometimes when I don't have a taste for anything. Pretty much plan around what dh and dd want each evening and sometimes don't find that out until I get home from work. One of the reasons I come straight home and get my workout in or it may not happen. Still able to get dinner done by 7:00-7:30pm so they're not eating too late. But when I do document what I'm eating prior to the meal, it almost makes me feel "obligated" to follow it to the tee. I'm alright knowing this about myself though and live with it well, lol.

Back to the fam as the kiddies are back from school. They came up with this breakfast for dinner idea but after the lunch I had with dh, I don't know I can stomach that :( G'night...

Terrific Tuesday to you, Mrsg! I lay in bed last night remembering that I'd forgotten to address the quanity of pnut butter ricotta with ya....sorry! You got me crying and my brain was too wet to think straight  Before I forget again and need to come up with yet another excuse....your idea of eating only a few spoonsful at a time is awesome. Me...I make AND eat the whole 1/2 c at a time! (Not that I couldn't make half that recipe...not me!) That's why I don't make it often anymore...portion control with this is VERY hard for me and I just don't use common sense as you have! I commend your thinking to use it sparingly...hoping to get to that point with it soon so I can treat myself to it again. As you see in my food logs, I've not been making it at all lately just because I go overboard. To think I've ever mastered my portion control issue is sheer insanity...so there may be things I really like that I'll just have to abstain from until I know I can control that portion-demon  My friend Liz suggested sensibly that I use the ricotta as a spread on ww english muffins or some such healthy bread to which I thought, yes, for you that would work...for me, I want to eat it by itself and experience pnut butter ricotta heaven each and every time I do so! See how I am!!! Whew...

On the menu-making issue, I kind of see what I have in the freezer, meat-wise, see what's on sale at the grocery stores that week and put it all together to plan ahead so I'll not have to make last minute unwise choices, cause I'd for sure do that if left to my own spur-of-the-moment devices! For you, with kiddies home, I understand you can't be as disciplined in this area so give yourself some slack and continue to eat as healthily as you can while allowing them some leeway in the menu as well. Besides, all that physical activity you're getting in lately, that should go a long way towards keeping any non-beachy foods from hanging onto your hips! You're doing a swell job of working your program overall, so happy for you, so thrilled to watch your progress and realize that this plan, this SB WOL is a winner!! It'll take us across the finish-line of life in excellent shape :!:

Have a blessed day, Mrsg, as I know you will.

8/24/09
d-scrambled eggs w/ ff cheese, grits (2 TBSP), biscuit (1) OR nf key lime yogurt (thinking the latter of the 2 as I'm still full from lunch) - (POSTED)
d-nf key lime yogurt topped w/ bites of kashi pb granola bar (ACTUAL)

Today is already off to a halfway decent start and will actually go like this:
b-kashi baked apple spice cereal bar & cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-chipotle salad w/ pinto beans, chicken, cheese, pico & guacamole, no dressing
d-hamburger on ww slice of bread, ff cheese, lettuce, tomato, mustard, french fries (1 c)
Exercise: No rest exercise, 4 sets of 15 oblique rotation/stretch & 3 sets of 20 light weights

Still staying SB friendly but changing the menu up just a bit. Always happens when the boss is in the office; a Chipotle day, lol. DH has the Bestest hamburgers so truly looking forward to dinner tonight. We’ve had some issues in the home over the past few days so looking forward to just hanging out with him. BTW, he’s in school for electronic engineering, has been on the highest honor list for the past 2 semesters and guess what…made it again! So I’m just such a proud mother and wife to say the least :D We just bought our home 2yrs ago in November and didn't really use the deck last year but boy have we done so this year. Maybe I can get him to fire up the pit that he got over a year ago

Peace & Blessings

So I've exercised on 8/23, 25 & 26 which hits my weekly 3 day goal!! Will hopefully get another day in so I can have a great week but happy with the current progress. DH is on break for 2wks so going home to workout will be challenging because I want to spend time with him. BUT my eye is on the prize which is living better so I can be here longer for them

Wrapping up here at work so will be a short post today. SB rules!!!!!!!

Chessie, I'm trying to get on your level Miss SB Poster Child :) Thank you as you have encouraged me too

Dinner yesterday was accompanied by a chicken leg smothered in ff chicken gravy. And can I just say that the pb ricotta & green apple tasted like an Affy Tapple (Taffy Apple in some parts of the world) ...UUUUUMMMMMMMMM!! Even though I was full from dinner, once I began to eat the apple (sliced) and dip, I ate the entire thing  Still only 2 TBSP of pb ricotta but dipped all of the apple slices in it and was simply in heaven 8)

8/28/09
b-starbucks grande skinny iced hazelnut latte
l-au bon pain bbq brisket bowl w/ 1/4 c brown rice & baked beans (3 TBSP)
s-sunflower seeds (1/4 c w/ shell on. Pk says 1/4 c w/o shell = 1 serving)
d-ww pita pocket (1/2) stuffed w/ chicken leg meat (no skin), roasted veggies & rf monteray jack cheese (2 TBSP)

Not real sure on the meals just yet. I brought things in to the office but today is early Friday and not sure if I want to eat just that or have my co-worker take me out on the company :? It may or may not be healthy but will, of course, try. Will log on later and edit the above so that today is documented...rather its bad news or good. I can share that here because we're all in this new WOL together!!

Edited: So DH just told me we would be attending his cousin's birthday party this evening  This is fine but wanted to make sure I ate something before we left so will be fixing the beloved pits & veggies. Not sure if I'll have a snack this evening but may put a nf fruit yogurt in a lunch bag just in case to take with. Probably will be drinking but will be very light and stick to the vodka tonic w/ lime to stay calorie free but still enjoy meself

Peace & Blessings
