Hey mrsgjr! Well done! Both on picking yourself up and getting straight back on the horse, and really getting that exercise going! You're doing a fantastic job :)

Thanks Chessie! I'm trying so keep the support coming please and thank you :)

I've been having problems getting up early this week already. Was VERY tired yesterday but got home and worked out. Didn't get up this morning either but will, again, get my workout on this evening. DH and sister-in-law showed me the exercises from my brother-in-law's plan so can do the abdominal workout today. You break it down by sections of the abs (upper, lower & full) so will probably do lower and full today. The jump rope is done in between reps when you need to rest in between to keep that heart rate up! Again, wish me luck :|

08/04/09
b-cup of gloria jeans hazelnut coffee (my fav) w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-1 c ww penne pasta, grilled chicken, steamed asparagus, roasted red bell pepper, garlic, parmesan cheese in tomato cream sauce
s-sf raspberry jello
d-salad w/ ff cheese, egg & italian dressing
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip

I haven't had breakfast so will make sure to do that in the morning. Think I have nf strawberry yogurt so sounds good to me!

Happy SB trails...

Chessie you learned me well! :-)

First things first:
d-salad w/ ff cheese, egg & italian dressing (POSTED)
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip (POSTED)
d-2 c popcorn topped w/ ICBNB & crystal light fruit punch (ACTUAL)

Got home and did the abdominal workout...and was that a workout. Guess it worked though because I feel it in my belly and back this morning :| Total workout was about 50mins: abdominal workout, medicine ball weigts, 10 sets of 50 jump rope, Jillian Michaels' Top to Bottom (1 set) & 1.4mile walk. Felt great but REALLY tired this morning. Today is suppose to be a resting day but may take off work tomorrow to be with DH so maybe I'll do the No Rest today and walk. If I get it in today, that would mean I hit my 3 day committment goal; if I get another day in then I'll be golden. Best wishes and good thoughts please!

I'm slightly hungry this morning and totally forgot the yogurt this morning :( So will head downstairs to the Cafe' and see what they have...maybe will have an egg and either turkey bacon or sausage link. If they have an english muffin sandwich I'll get that. With this being said I have no idea what I'm eating today at all so won't post until the end of day or early in the morning. You can, however, count on me having my cup of GJ hazelnut coffee! Besos

Quick post tonight:

08/05/09

l-PF Chang spicy chicken, green onions, brown rice (1 c ttl), pork pan-fried dumpling (2)
d-none
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip

Exercise today: 6 mile walk & 6 sets of 20 light hand weights

Since today was suppose to be a rest day, I feel great about the exercise. Tomorrow will be a new day and a new challenge but I'm up for it...BRING IT ON!!!!

08/06/09
b-nf strawberry yogurt, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-mixed greens salad w/ hb egg, nf cheese topped w/ italian dressing
d-grilled chicken wings marinated in lemon pepper & onion

Wishing you all healthy choices and to a successful SB friendly Thursday!

08/06/09 (actually went like this)
b-turkey leg pieces w/ 2 TBSP brown rice
s-nf strawberry yogurt, sf hershey w/ carmel (3)
l/d-grilled turkey hot dogs (2) on half ww bun, chicken wing dings (7), steak & veggie skewer (1) & rib bones (4), 2 glasses of wine
s-sf hershey w/ carmel (2) & sugar cookie (1)

Exercise: No rest exercise (2), 5 sets of 50 jump rope, 1/2 of the abdominal workout and light weights.

The accountability parts are the snacks. With DH being home and grilling yesterday I had a protein overdose, lol  I know I didn't have a side dish and all that meat looks so unhealthy! What I am happy about is that I didn't overeat (portions); I just ate a variety of meats. Just sitting on the deck, chillaxing and enjoying the weather...it was a good day!

Today, back on the horse but it's after 1:30 CST and I've only had a cup of coffee. Taking yesterday off was a good day but then coming in to work had to catch up on things since our Regional meeting is next week. I think I've printed all that I can at this point so may skate out of here early! Not sure what I'll eat right now and don't want to make the wrong choice by eating because I'm hungry. Wish me luck on a meal.

This week I've struggled with breakfast so next week I plan on changing that. Don't expect to see any weight loss on Monday but hope also not to see a huge jump in weight. I know that I need veggies, salads and breakfast to lose anything and that just didn't happen at all this week. Not sure what was going on to throw off my focus...well I do just don't have time to post right now. Been a little stressful around my home with the sister-in-law being there for the past 9 weeks  Pray for me please and thank you!

Wishing you all a healthy, happy SB friendly weekend if we don't virtually speak :-)

Mrsg, I so identify with your having s-i-l there for an extended period of time. My sister 'dropped in' from Ohio once...for about 3 month! Was very difficult and I wasn't even on SB!! Will join you in prayer about this as I know it's hard having extra adults in your home.

Well, the meat overload topic---at least it was protein, not just fats or carbs. I think you picked the best of the three to have overeaten so let's just leave it at that and like I know you did, make wise choices from there on. I wrote earlier today on AA thread that I"m having trouble getting in enough veggies. Stems from being overloaded with other chores and not making time to get those veggies prepared; promising myself to do better by the first of next wk when little DJ goes back to his grandparents.

You're doing wonderful in the physical activity dept...just great!! Are you feeling more energy overall as the pounds come off and your body gets used to the added exercising? Well, I'm heading over to my journal; have neglected it the past two days due to having the baby here. By the time he beds down, I seem drained and in need of rest myself. You have a blessed weekend and don't forget to eat your veggies!! I'll try and do the same :) Hugs.

My thoughts are with you and my fingers are crossed! It can be hard to get the sheer volume of veggies in, but I agree with Gramma that if you're going to overeat anything at least protein isn't the real baddy on the beach!

You have been doing so well on your commitment to exercise - keep it up!! :)

d-turkey italian sausage w/ red, yellow bell pepper, onion, garlic atop a slice of rye bread (GRAMMA THIS WAS AWESOME even though I remixed it a bit 8) !!

08/09/09 Exercise - abdominal workout, light weights on medicine ball & 10 sets of 60 w/ jump rope

This weekend was a tad busy but we finally confirmed a location for the Sweet 16 party!!!!! I was so happy I didn't know what to do yesterday. We'd looked at so many places and seen so many halls that we didn't look right in our backyard. Location is perfect, room is great and now can begin working on the details and the save the date! DD is happy and now for the theme, "Cinderella Masquerade"...

Today's post is short because I may have a blue nose pit bull puppy and she has grey eyes...wish me luck as she is so gorgeous. I've been looking for a pup and if this works out, even though not the breed I preferred, I would be a happy mommy again :D Trying not to get attached while she runs around my yard and trying also not to get on DHs nerves while he is working on us keeping her. Good thoughts. If it is in His will, then it shall be done.

Wishing all a SB friendly Sunday :!:

Great to see you back online with us, Mrsg! Missed you as I said above. Thanks for making it around to my journal already, you're right on the ball!!! Wonder where that phrase came from, by the way??!! Weird when you think about it...hummm... Glad you stayed pretty beachy while you were gone and that you're ready to jump back on the exercise wagon with us. That's the toughie in this new way of life for me, consistently keeping exercise a priority. Whew...tires me thinking about it  Well, you have a marvelous day tomorrow, knowing your encouraging all of us will in turn bless you in a big way. Hugs and prayers as you seek to let God live big in you!

Re: MrsGJr Back At It Journey 2009

Postby mrsgjr » Tue Aug 18, 2009 7:56 pm

Thank you everyone for your kind words! It was a long week and I felt so blessed to come back to the ones that are cheering me on :D I have missed you all more than you may ever know :!:

Work and home have been stressful and just taken me off my game a bit but this week is a new week. My s-i-l and DH had some words last week but not enough for me. Don't want arguments but civil conversations so that we are aware of the situation in its entirety. My view/thoughts initially were, "What if it were my sister/brother?!" Indeed I would want DH to be there for me and my family so this is why I felt we needed to open the door. God blessed us so that we were able to do that and I will let His will be done. HOWEVER, when will this end? There is no plan in place and even though I don't reflect this in my eating, I consider myself to be an organized person. I've worked since I was 15, going to school and working 2 jobs at one point, lived on my own since 18 as I became a parent early and have responsibility to my husband for 13yrs now. She is single, no children, and works each day at a decent salary but can't seem to organize her finances at all. There have been times where I have been down and may have needed to reach out to family but feel somewhat taken advantage of at this point. Just a little bit further, my b-i-l & his 2 boys used to live together so the boys (well one until next week) will be here as they start school next week. I have prayed that He allow me relief in knowing this is His will so that I can be comfortable with the situation. We do love our family but have been used to 3 of us and now there are 6 which is putting a strain on both finances and patience. I ask for prayer and deliverance, Amen!

A little bit of positivity. We have the air & water show in Chicago around this time each year and it was this past weekend. On Friday when my meetings were over, my God-daughters came over for the weekend. Each year I do something with them and they are now 10, 11 & 3 (new one :-). So this year we decided to go the this event which is CRAZY crowded but is free so thought, hey, what a better deal can you get?! We packed up a nice picnic lunch and were headed down for the 10:am-4:pm show at 8:am arriving around 8:30 to claim our spot for the day. Even though the day started out a bit warm, right after 11am it broke and what a beautiful day for an air & water show. It was still crowded but we got a Great spot right in front of the water under a shaded tree, the kids napped as they got up around 6:30am, ate, enjoyed the show and didn't depart until 4:15pm. While it was a long day, I haven't had a more relaxing day in such a long time it was awesome :D

On 8/3&10 I gained a lb, so a lb each week. Yesterday, I'd lost those 2lbs! I know that the scales don't measure your progress but felt good to know that I could still lose some lbs especially after you see my menu for last week  What has been going on are cravings. Even though I'm trying to make sure I include veggies and/or salads at least 3-4 days a week so that I have some intake, which has been a struggle. When they do come on, I don't get crazy but I do indulge and that wasn't so in the past weeks. Believe I've said in the past that I feel that alcohol triggers the cravings but haven't seemed to completely stop drinking. Not doing so every day but doing so on the weekends. Someone posted a question asking if you get enough food in on the weekend because you end up sleeping late, etc. and a response was: prepare more portions on Thursday and Friday so they are readily available. I think that was worth trying so will being this week doing that. We get up pretty early but then may lie back down but then I miss brekkie (which we know if my problem in the first place). So I hope this will work for me and will, of course, check back in on that but give me a few weeks to see how/if it does work.

Exercise was a total wash this past week  The good news is that I did get lots of walking in...on purpose. I know I was gone and doing lots of drinking but let me tell ya I'm not looking forward to the pain I just opened myself to! When I do the workout again, it's going to feel like the first time  Did it to myself though so can complain but then I'd have to blame me and that's no fun :x

Since I have LOTS of menu posting I'm going to end here. I wish you the bestest of Tuesday and hope your day and week is SB friendly filled
