Hi mrsg! Please don't be down on yourself for the potato pie, you will have to share your recipe cos I can't even think what it would be like! The most I have ever done with a sweet potato is roasted it or steamed it! Brits are quite new to sweet potatoes I think :D
Well you and Gramma with your injuries, you both really got me thinking that this new WOL has its perils! Injury can stop you doing what you are trying to make into a good new habit, and in fact this good new habit can even cause the injury that stops you! What seems clear is that you have to keep yourself moving somehow cos this is a good habit you don't want to break, but BE CAREFUL! Don't run risks with making it worse cos in the long run, that will just keep you off road for longer and we don't want that for you! We want you to be bobbing alongside us on the beach, pain-free and healthy.
Sending you lots of love and healing wishes :) xxxxx

Hi BeachingIt and thanks for checking in on me! Well I "try" to eat breakfast but this is hard for me and has always been  Me eating a yogurt or ww english muffin w/ natural pb would be me being VERY good. This morning, however, dh got up and fixed me "The Freddie" this morning and you posted this...did you talk to him or something :?: :!: :D  I fluctuate from week with brekkie but I do try to eat in the morning. Thanks for checking on me and I will make sure i'm incorporating the most important meal of the day :| :P

ChessieCat, I love ya :!: :!: :!: Thank you for always encouraging me and picking me right back up by kicking me in the rear. Sometimes we need to hear it and somehow you and Gramma always know just what to say  It's such a bad recipe but taste so GOOD...so you know it's bad. This is a family fav and has been "remixed" between me and my mom. My family is from Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee and love to cook (as you can see) and bake even more! I'll send you the recipe via private message just in case you're feeling like a REAL treat

9/22/09 (actually went like this after l)
d-turkey pieces, mustard/turnip greens, garlic bread (sm pc)
s-kashi clusters
Exercise: None (thigh wasn't ready just yet  )

9/23/09
b-2 eggs, ff cheese slice, turkey on wheat bread sandwich, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-qdoba chicken tortilla soup, crisp taco w/ chix, little cheese, pico, guacamole & handful of chips
d-lean ground beef burger on ww bun, 2tsp mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and handful of fries
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip topped w/ kashi clusters
Exercise: Day 2 abdominal workout, 10 set of 100 jump rope, 3 sets of 25 w/ light hand weights, 75 jumping jacks & 15 squats

My thigh was better today and was even able to do some squats...not so lucky in the lunge so didn't continue that rep. Today was busy at work and just an ugly weather day here and just didn't want to do anything but sit on the couch when I got home. But dh told me to make it happen today even though he didn't have school tonight; I love him :D :!: On top of that, he fixed my favorite dish that he makes which are the hamburgers. He made sure he bought me 100% ww buns so I could fully enjoy it as I'd eaten it on wheat bread before. I appreciate that they all do look out after me and what I'm eating so that they don't offend me and why I love them so dearly :D :D

Well going over to my b-i-l's w/ dh just to take a ride so I bid thee farewell. I'd taken some before/after pics for him to see the progress i've made and even though it was his program, he gives me the credit for the work...but now he's making my s-i-l (his fiance') angry trying to make her do it, LOL  8) :P

9/24/09
b-nf strawberry yogurt, coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-carved roasted turkey melt, provolone cheese, vine ripe tomatoes, pickle on sourdough (1/2) w/ handful of onion loaf, roasted red pepper dipping sauce
d-pork tenderloin marinated in white wine, onion, garlic, parsley, s/p w/ steamed green beans
Exercise: None. I "may" do Core Rhythm but have to cook this evening so not sure.

We're having a conference call but wanted to document my meal today. Beaching It, breekie was eaten on your behalf today  :D

OMGoodness was that pork tenderloin good :!: :!: :!: I'd never cooked it before and just threw some marinade together based on the smell. DH said to me he only knew the difference between tastes good and tastes nasty and that was a good one :D

9/25/09
b-grapes 1/2c, strawberries 4, manderin oranges 1/4c, starbucks grande skinny iced hazelnut latte
l-pizza w/ sausage, ground beef, onion, bell pepper (abt 6sm squares)
cocktail: vodka tonic w/ lime
d-roasted rotisserie turkey breast sliced OR oven baked pork tenderloin on wheat bread sandwich, mayo, lettuce, tomato, sun chips 1oz
Exercise: None

I had lunch w/ DH today and got to spend some quality time together talking among ourselves. While I know the meal wasn't SB friendly, the time meant more and felt as if I didn't overdo it (because I LOVE pizza). He went and bought a chicken but saw the turkey and got it for me knowing lunch wasn't SB friendly for me...again, love him  Tomorrow I'll be getting up before the running begins to get in a workout though. I got a little discouraged this week and my menu shows but want to get back on track so best get my third day in and start the week off right :!: :!:

Going tomorrow to make a payment on the mansion and take pictures w/ dd and then go to a 1yr old birthday party. Having dinner w/ a friend for her birthday Saturday evening so pretty full day and then Christening and best friend visit Sunday. Please pray for God to fill me with the words his wishes for me to relay to my best friend as she just informed me of a possible divorce :( I want her to be happy, as well as my God children (3 girls) so will be bringing them over for fun on more weekends than not for awhile.

Wishing you all a SB friendly weekend walking the Beach  8)

You are doing so well! I have read so many times in so many different places how important it is to eat breakfast to kick - start your metabolism each morning. It drives me crazy when my 7 year old doesn't want breakfast... then I hear myself nagging at him because I know how important it is to his body and his learning. Keep up the great work!

Beaching It, I "know" it's the most important meal of the day, I've just never really been a brekkie person. As a child, my grandfather was a chef/butcher so he made breakfast every morning, even things I didn't care for he made me eat  I think this is where my thought process stems from (yep, blaming him :D ) but I try to ensure my daughter has something, even if it's a piece of toast w/ a glass of OJ...funny how the tables turn and she doesn't like to eat in the morning either. Vicious cycle I've created but find that she's eating better and DH credits my new WOE to that so baby steps 8)

9/25/09 (actually went this way for dinner)
d-roasted rotisserie turkey breast carved topped w/ rf monteray jack cheese placed in a ww pita, side salad lettuce, tomato, ff american cheese pieces w/ italian dressing
s-pound cake slice 1

9/26/09
b-nf strawberry yogurt topped w/ kashi clusters crushed, cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer, equal (4)
l-pork tenderloin, steamed green beans
d-tbd, possible the roasted rotisserie turkey breast carved topped w/ rf monteray jack cheese placed in a ww pita (I mean there was a lot and want to use it before it goes bad!)
cocktails: either usual vodka tonic w/ lime or red wine
Exercise: Abdominal Workout Day 1, 10 set of 100 jump rope, 4 sets of 20 w/ light weights balanced on medicine ball, 2 sets of 20 squat w/ light weights (third day today, Whoot!)

Got up early this morning to get the day started right as we've got lots of running to do today. It is my hope to have lost at least 1lb this week or some oz. would even work. My menu hasn't been the greatest, as stated yesterday, but trying to remain focused. Read in someones journal that they didn't document the meals that were bad decisions and I disagree with that thought myself. When I document, I try to document everything even the bad items so that I can refer to that and say to self, "Self, eliminate that item this week as you allowed it the previous week and this didn't help you!" I, for one, am not here to judge anyone or to be judged for that matter. What I've found here is a support system of people who are traveling the same road as I and understand when a "bad" decision is made but encourages you to move on without guilt or beating yourself up about it. I am guilty of feeling this way after I've made a decision like that but can also attest to the ongoing support I receive when I do so. Stress levels have heightened over the past few weeks and, while not making excuses more of a confession, know this has probably led to more bad decisions than I had been making.

Woke this morning from a bad dream; really worried about my best friend and not sure how to help except to support her. Missed my nail appointment yesterday so will try to fit that in as well...you know we all need that from time to time  My girlfriend's son's 1st birthday party is today with the adult portion to follow so may have a few cocktails today but won't overdo it.

G'day to you, Peace & Blessings

I pop by other people's journals for inspiration-- either on what to eat or for when I'm feeling discouraged-- and I just wanted you to know that I found you encouraging on both fronts and that I will keep you and your friend in my prayers!

Hey Wanda!

I enjoyed reading your journal! You are soooo close to your mini-goal and even your goalgoal!!

I have to say, your husband sounds like such a sweetheart! I love how supportive he is of you! You have a busy weekend planned - enjoy! Hopefully your thigh will feel better and better each day!

PS - have you tried eating leftover dinner for breakfast? I've always loved doing that.

Love, Ky

BevvBevv, thank you for stopping by, for your compliments and prayers :!: :!: I appreciate meeting you and please feel free to stop by anytime. There are good days and not so good days but there are many people here that can provide all kinds of encouragement. I'll be checking in to find your journal too

Hi Ky! Funny he was sitting next to me when I read this so I showed him...he said "Thank You!" and so do I  It's so natural for him as he's such a kind heart man and I'm truly the lucky one. I never really thought about eating dinner for breakfast but maybe I will start. Sometimes I make dinner knowing it will be leftovers for dinner the following evening that I don't take it for lunch because of this but would take part of it for brekkie. Thanks for the suggestion as they are welcomed and appreciated

Chessie, I sent you a message so let me know if you get it. Love you back and thank you :!:

First things first, I did not get to get my nails done :( She was booked and the time she could have fit me in wasn't good for me. The birthday party went well so let's wrap up the evening meal which was not SB friendly:

9/26/09
d-chili beef, bean, cheese mixture on tortilla chips, celery, broccoli w/ ranch/blue cheese dressing
s-cake 2sm square pieces
cocktails: vodka tonic w/ lime (3), shot of tequila

We went to the mansion where we're having the Sweet 16 party and they were having a play there so pictures really wouldn't have helped but gave us ideas. The last time I was at the nail shop I had a conversation with a woman who advised me to contact the theater for prop rental. One of the things my daughter did when she walked into the room was give the sign of the cross. The room she chose was the chapel but when we went in yesterday the theater had covered the window. My guide wasn't there to let me know if it was truly property of the theater of or the mansion but will be contacting him to find out as an option and if not proceed accordingly.

DH's trade is auto repair even though he is in school for electronic engineering; changing career fields. Why, however, is the wife of the autobody repairman the last one to get her car painted??!! SSSOOOO he Finally painted my car this morning :!: :!: Thanks Daddy  8) He got up early this morning and let me sleep but when he did wake me up he asked that I cook cabbage for him as he wanted to put a corned beef in the crock pot and of course I did since he was painting my car

9/27/09
b-skipped sleeping :D
l-nf raspberry yogurt w/ kashi clusters, ww bun topped w/ ICBINB & natural pb
d-cabbage, sm slice of corned beef on half slice of rye bread w/ mustard
s-sf vanilla pudding w/ lite cool whip
Exercise: Abdominal Workout Day 2 & Core Rhythm Latin Synergy

Hoping that there is some difference in the scale tomorrow but not sure with the cake yesterday. Wasn't a lot but have noticed some bad decisions and may be what's going on with me. I talked to my b-i-l and he said that I should switch up the ab workout doing it more than the no rest as it won't hurt my progress. This is the area of concern and the sweets will not help that area at all so best get it together  :| :(

Yesterday was a depressing day for me so had NO energy to workout. Today wish I has as dh doesn't have class tonight and could cuddle up with him on the couch. But I'll make sure I get home, do my workout and then cuddle :) Dd and I have begun truly planning her party and she's getting excited about it! We're going to contact the theater to see if we can rent props for the big day as you can't really "decorate" the room she chose. Will begin searching for the dress today too as a friend is already on the shoes; she lives in FL and her hubby works at Disney!!

Well I best get to doing some work before the boss arrives. Wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday and hope it is a healthy walk on the beach for you  :D
