The beginning of Sept. so far so good. Exercised yesterday and today and was beachy despite several urges for decadent dessert. The scale said 148 today which felt good. I am trying to figure out how to link my journal to my other entries etc.

SEPTEMBER WARRIOR CHALLENGE

Postby mauijoy » Thu Sep 06, 2007 3:04 am

Wed Sept 5th, 2007

30 min brisk walking.(1pt)
Ate Beachy (2pt)[b Feeling crabby and a little bit of cravings. Think it is PMS related.

My birthday is tomorrow. I am bringing veggies and hummas and a beachy modified fruit crisp. I am going to eat a decadent dessert at some point if I want it. I have been doing very good for a few weeks now. Overall feeling better. Only complaint is that with bowels. I am not as regular and have very stinky gas. Will try drinking more water.

Sept. Warrior Challenge Week 2

Walked 30 min 1 pt.
My stomach has been bothering me for the last couple of weeks on and off. I am thinking that the sugarfree gum I am eating is contributing to the problem. I tend to be sensitive to the product in sugarfree candy etc. so I may be overdoing the gum. I will lay off it and see how it goes.

I have been feeling a little bored, sad and lonely today. I really miss my friends. I have been here eight months and have no real close friends that I can call to just hang out with. Gotta keep being open and get out there and connect with people. There ought to be some people that I enjoy and enjoy me, there certainly are plenty of people around here.

I want ice cream. Luckily there is none in the house. :)

I bought some free weights today so now I can lift at home instead of having to go to the gym to get the strength training in.

I can see you have friend issues just like me. I moved 600 miles from all of my friends and family to be with my fiancé now hubby. I still don't have that many friends over here, to be accurate 2. One I inherited from my hubby, and second one girl from my country that I meet at the gym. Its hard to meet new people this days. At least you have your SBD friends, I know that is not like real friends that you can go out with or have lunch, but at least you get to talk to some one. I talk to my old friends everyday over the phone. That helps too. Good luck with SBD and finding new friends.

That is great you got some free weights. I love having
mine in the house. I keep them in the den where I can
just reach down and grab some and start wt. training.

They are very convenient and just as effective as
gyms - cheaper too in the long run.

you will love having your own wts!

Mauijoy- sorry you are missing your friends, that can be really hard. Where did you live before - Maui?? Are there any aerobic classes you could go to? I've met a lot of nice people that way.

You are doing great on your weight loss, four more to go! The final four - I can't wait till I can say that! Hope you feel better soon, guess it wasn't the rollercoasters!

mauijoy--I have the same problem you do. I moved to my city in 2003 and have made only one friend. Before moving here I had so many friends, so I know it isn't me. Then, I kicked my husband out, so life here can get lonely at times. I have been getting out more, though, and have met people recently that might turn into friends. It is hard to be away from your friends.

Sounds like you have been doing pretty good on the challenge! Way to go!

Sept Warrior Challenge Week 2-

Thur Sept 13 beachy 2 pt, Walked 30 min 1pt My energy is feeling a bit better and my stomach has definately calmed down by eliminating the sugar free gum and diet soda. I think the cleaner and healthier I eat the less tolerant I am of things that aren't good for me.

Friday Sept 14- I have been looking on the website at different recipes. I just made the bean brownies yum-yum. I hope they sit well with me. They do have a pretty good amount of Splenda in them.

I used my new weights today. It felt great. I am going to go walk or bike a little later. The weather is great right now.

Thanks for all the encouragement!! I really appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the message. I am not sure if this is the best way to reply or whether I should have done something else. Anyway, yes I did move from Maui. I had lived in HI for the past 17 yrs and was well connected. Maui is also still pretty small town so you see the same people on a regular basis. I got married and moved to Northern Virginia rather suddenly. It is a very busy place with a very different mind set. I feel a like a fish out of water at times.
I am not a big exercise class fan, except I do like yoga classes. The gym I go to here is a great facility but everyone is plugged into their ipods so it is not real social. One cool thing I recently discovered is meetup.com it is where people post activities and you can join whatever you want. I have gone on a couple of walking outings and will go on another one tomorow. I think it is a good friendship/exercise venue.
It looks like you are just a few pounds away from your goal as well. Good job and good luck on shedding them :) Enjoy your weekend!

Sept Warrior Challenge Week 2
Friday: Beachy 2pt Walked 1pt, Lifted weights at home 1pt.
Saturday: Walked 1pt, Beachy 2pt. Ate out veal with lobster sauce - divine, with Zucc. probably high fat but I have been soooo good. I did not eat any of the bread and just looked at the dessert but didn't feel I needed it. I have been enjoying the bean brownies as a nice snack treat. I have eaten quite a bit of them. I hope that I have a weight lose this week. I have added in more fruit and complex carbs this week so we shall see. My digestion and elimination is much better with a little fruit and complex carbs thrown in and the sugar-free gum and diet soda thrown out.
