My trip to Maine!
We had rain for the first two days, but we stayed in Freeport (an outlet shopping town and the home of L.L. Bean) during that time and shopped. I bought new ankle boots and almost bought a new handbag (decided at the last minute that it was too expensive, even at the outlet price). My dad bought a new jacket at L.L. Bean.
Next, we made our way up to Bar Harbor. The first full day there was cloudy, but we were just happy to be rid of the rain! We went to a Native American museum and then spent the rest of the day in town. We bought my Grandpa a new cap, and I bought the tee shirt that I'd liked the last time I was there (sheep saying "Baa Haa Baa," the native Maine pronunciation

).
On Sunday, it was finally sunny! We spent the day in Acadia National Park. The place is just amazingly beautiful. The breathtaking views from Cadillac Mountain are really something to see. Sand Beach was lovely (but the water was very cold). We didn't swim (just took a walk on the beach). Another interesting site there is Thunder Hole. The water hitting the rocky shores creates the sound of thunder! In the gift shop, we bought a few presents for friends and family. My mom also bought some jams, and she and I each bought beautiful salt and pepper shakers. We left the park and spent the evening having a light dinner at a waterfront restaurant (outdoors) overlooking the pier.
I ate so much delicious seafood on this trip! I think I had 5 different lobster dishes (I had TWO lobster rolls on two different days)! I also had shrimp, crab, scallops, and tried haddock for the first time. Liked it! Oh, I wasn't at all Beachy, so I have a pound or two to lose this week.
On the way home, we stopped in Kittery, another outlet town on the Maine border (right before hitting New Hampshire). We didn't buy anything this time.
Well, that was my trip. It was very nice to get away from everything that's going on in real life and just escape for a few days.
