Thanks for the advice ... I just thought I'd give them a try, so now I know! Maybe I'll mail the rest to LB ...

Well, it's been quite a weekend. I spent about 4 hours at my one building yesterday, working on report cards for a while but mostly prepping the room for the summer cleaning. Basically means I have to pack up/put away everything so that they can empty my room and clean the carpets, scrub down the countertops, etc. DONE!!! Today we did church, then lunch out and errands, then home to drop off DH and the kids, then to my other building. Got all the report cards done, copied, and to each of the teachers' boxes. Back home, grilled burgers for dinner, then went for ice cream at our favorite place - no way was I saying no to that tonight! Reasonable serving, much enjoyed. Back home, kids bathed and in bed, and I finally got to work out (killer cramps laid me out this morning :x). Decided to end the week with an exercise trifecta - a 90-minute workout that used 3 different videos in succession, one of which was brand new to me (more points), AND incorporated weights and cardio. Scored some insane points for my team on that one! I know I won't be working out in the morning - too much to do for the retirement party, which turned into a breakfast first thing - so I decided to push myself harder tonight. I am SO ... revoltingly ... drenched in sweat. SO glad I took the time to install the window air conditioners tonight - it feels wonderful as I sit here and type!

I'm baking an egg casserole and some banana muffins for the breakfast in the morning ... maybe another egg thing, as I have no idea how many people will actually show for this party thing! SB-friendly, so I can eat all the leftovers - ha! I'll have to peruse my favorites after I shower.

Lots going on the next three days, but then I am officially ON VACATION!!! No plans at all for Thursday, but it looks like my MIL will be coming to visit on Friday or early Saturday from Cleveland. I haven't seen her since Christmas, so that'll be fun. DH and I get to go to a friend's birthday party being held at a private tent at Island Fest on Saturday - should be a blast!

Hope everyone is doing well ... sadly, I'm not going to journal-hop right now, as I'll feel much better if everything's organized and ready for tomorrow. Thinking of you all, and I'll check in again when I can.

Hey, there! Such a busy lady!

Weird about the tanning wipes. They work so great for me and bkro9. Hmmmmm.

Yeah, mail them to me!

Hope the retirement party is a raging success, and good luck at your check up, skinny!

Hello, hello, hello!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by ... feels like I've been gone a week! Board has been super-slow, even at night, so posting took longer than I had patience for.

Retirement party was a huge success ... good food, good gifts, and just enough people. Egg dish was loved (and eaten) by all, so no leftovers. I kept it strictly beachy and then worked on my room. Afternoon inservice was, as predicted, a complete waste of time, but I got done all the grades/report cards/gradebook/paperwork, etc. Just realized, however, that I need to move anything on the computer hard drives that needs keeping as they are ghosting all the machines this summer. Maybe I'll stop by tomorrow to do that.

Today has been, thus far, a most excellent day! Weighed in at 147 this morning, so had high hopes for the check-up weigh-in. Colored my hair, showered, ate breakfast, got the kids ready and dropped them at the sitter's house, then had my haircut appointment. Back home, got the dog and her, um, sample, and took her to the vet. Minimal monetary damage, she's super-healthy, and we just need to keep doing what we're doing! Back home, had a snack, then left to hit the consignment shop before my appointment - I need shorts, and am looking for a dress for a party we're going to on Saturday - outside - at Island Fest. NSV - found a really cute J Crew dress (size 4) on the rack ... laughed, then picked it up, figuring I'd at least try it on. Tried it on. It fits like it was tailored for me. No sucking in my tummy, nothing - just, fits! I literally had tears in my eyes. May have to take a picture.

Appointment was, as usual, totally great - I have the best nurse-midwife on the planet! She just acts like you made her day just by showing up, and then proceeds to boost you up with praise for all the things you're doing right. She commented on my weight/shape immediately, then asked lots of detailed questions about what I was doing. It was a great visit, and now I'm getting my thyroid tested and my first mammogram. Can I get a woohoo? Didn't really think so. S'okay - good to have data to compare in later years.

Oh, and the official weigh-in at the office? Fully clothed and after breakfast and a substantial snack, plus two quarts of water? 146.8!

So that's it! I'm off to collect the kids, then home for dinner, then to DS#1's baseball game. Tomorrow I'm at church for a "listening" workshop - should be really interesting! That's from 9-4pm, so that's my day. Thursday is the first true vacation day - no clue what we'll do, as the possibilities are endless! Probably clean, as my MIL is coming up form Ohio that day or Friday.

Once again, I'll try to play catch-up later once I have more time and the board is running a bit faster. I miss chatting with you all, but know you're always in the back of my mind, like a little Greek chorus, keeping me company as I move through the day. Big hugs to you all, and thanks for all your encouraging words!

What great news on the appointment, the weigh-in AND the size 4!! You rock! What you have been able to accomplish with your eating and exercise is fantastic - you should be very proud of yourself.

Have a good day at the workshop - and happy hump day too! :D

Gimme an L...
Gimme a J...

YAY!!! You deserve your very own cheer with all of those awesome accomplishments! I just threw away (gave away) all of my size 4 jeans when we moved - it's been so many years since I've been able to wear them, and we've moved them so many times. I finally decided that if I ever see size 4 again, I will deserve to buy new ones! Congratulations!!!
