WAY to go workout woman!! I watched the Biggest loser finale last night, and it was SOOOO inspiring.
That is a very interesting line of work that you're looking to get into. My two main focuses right now are HR and finance. Either one would be fun. I just went from 1 interview to 3 so far. I have 2 tomorrow and 1 on thursday night. There is some definite potential there. I'm kinda excited, but now i have to go find something to wear!! :? Ugh, hate hate hate being fat. But at least i'm doing something about it right??

We didn't do much exciting stuff on NYE either. We just went out to dinner, then watched some hockey and a movie. I was exhausted and managed to get a migraine in there somehow too. Its okay, i went to bed at 12:30...am i old or what??

Hopefully i'll be able to resume exercise too. I'm just really nervous right now with all of the stuff i have to think about. I'm going to quit my current job (YESS!! ) Then try and get a new one, diet and probably have to find and apartment and stuff to put in it!! Talk about crazy!!

Keep up the good work and hopefully this is the beginning of a prosperous new year for us both!!

wow, three days and i didnt post? hmmm thats weird...

so tuesday, back to work. it was ok, not much to do. i cant even remember what i ate, but exercise:

no elliptical!
did 30 min core workout, 30 min stretching/yoga

amazingly, not sore at all on wednesday. must have been the stretching.

wednedsay:
took the day off of work. haha one day back and already taking a day off. i love my job. anyhow, went shopping with mom and sister.

b - cereal with raspberries, v8, turkey bacon, milk (in cereal)
l - red snapper, green beans with mushrooms, steamed veggies, cherry tomatoes with basil, 1/4 slice of sourdough bread, ahi sashimi
s - apple with yogurt
d - ww pasta with ground turkey and pasta sauce, salad
d - banana with pb

exercise -
30 min elliptical.
cal - 381
distance - .97

arm work with free weights

today:
have a moderate cold, didnt go to work until noon, but worked until 5:15!
was supposed to have shabu-shabu for dinner, but did not go due to random drama between families. we had no dinner planned, what were we to do? i wanted to make chili, but needed to go to the store for the makings. ray too tired. we said we would go at 7, didnt go until much later, had to improvise, no chili tonight. so sad.

b - same as yesterday
l - salad with chicken, banana with yogurt
s - carrots
d - santosha smoothie with 4 cups spinach!!! cottage cheese with tomatoes
d - tortilla with pb and sf preserves, vanilla chai (using davinvi syrups, so good!)

had lots of tea today, orange pekoe in the am, i love lemon and apple cinnamon throughout the work day.

not feeling well but not bad enough not to exercise, i used the neck up rule. nothing sick below my neck, so ok to exercise. however, did not want to overexert myself.

elliptical, 20 min.
cal - 250
distance - .63

felt good after, but hungry due to small dinner, i would guess. hence the tortilla and chai.

however, the cold has seemed to get better since this morning. amazing.

on another note, horrible news. the oc is over next month. im quite sad. but its not the same without marissa... and thats all i will say about that.

i posted my exercise plan in the jan. challenge for next week, im really looking forward to the whole challenge, it will keep me focused as well as accountable. i havent been working, going to school, and doing this amount of exercise yet, but i think the past 4 weeks have made the exercise part of my routine, so when i go back to school monday, im hoping i will be ok! ugh class mon, tues, thurs 5:30-8:30 pm. good times.

not bad for having a cold, actually its the same reading as i got on wednesday, so... yay!

ok today has been good, but ive been thinking about going back to school tomorrow and am really dreading it. not because i dont like school, i love it! but its just... you know, after like a 5 week break, its like ugh oh man.
i think as soon as im back in the swing of things, it will be a-ok.

went to 2 farmers markets today, and ran some other random errands.

b - cereal, strawberries with yogurt, 2 pieces turkey bacon, tea
s - carrots, cheese and 1 cracker (weird, why just one?)
l - broccoli with cheese sauce, chicken apple sausage
s - pb cookie dough ricotta
d - not yet. sunday is pizza night, always. and steamed veggies. mmmm!

it feels really weird not to exercise today, its the first day this week! but we did alot of walking around today, so yeah.

the challenge starts tomorrow, im really excited!

oh i bought a tailor's measuring tape this weekend and will begin taking measurements once a month.i think that will be a great inspiration to see how things are changing besides my weight!

ohhh so tired. but school was not nearly as bad as i had imagined. actually, it went very very well! and although i have to work every day this week, i can survive. hopefully. and i dont have group therapy tomorrow, so i get a break. tuesdays i usually go to work at 10, work until 2:45, therapy 3:00-4:30, then class 5:30-8:30. and all on campus. i cant get away! but for some reason, no therapy this week. yay!

although i sometimes dont feel like going to therapy, its a great program that our school/department has. its all counseling psych students, and we get hours towards licensure for participating the in the group. and we can practice! its great, but the day/time is icky. however, i have decided this quarter i will take tuesdays off of work. but must work this week due to new exhibits opening this weekend...

anyhow, about diet/exercise:

b - ww waffle w/ sb and sf syrup, strawberries with yogurt and sf vanilla syrup, milk, 2 slices turkey bacon, breakfast cheesecake, v8. wow alot!
l - 1/2 BLT, cottage cheese, 2 c. steamed carrots, some raw carrots/tomatoes with ranch
s - apple with cheese
d - hot dog (no bun) 2 c. steamed veggies, about 1 more c. steamed carrots. man i love those carrots. tortilla with pb.
s - not yet. must have fruit. with something. im guessing i will have pb ricotta with a banana. yum!

i also had a piece of dark chocolate (TOM). mmmmm. ray got me dark chocolate balls from sees candy for xmas. what was he thinking??? hey, at least its dark chocolate, and ive only had 4 pieces since then, not bad.

exercise:
30 min elliptical
cal - 410
distance - 1.07

ab work on mat and stability ball
arm work with free weights
stretching

good day.

so i said one of my goals for the challenge is having less sf products. so what did i do today to work towards that?

1. again, less sf products in yogurt in am!
2. would normally have apple with yogurt and sf syrup, had it with cheese instead!

good start.

hmm today not feeling so great. around TOM, i get these killer headaches that will not go away unless i sleep... for a long time! today was the first one. it really puts a damper on things. of course, i was fine at work, but coming home getting ready for school, it hits me. luckily, our professor let us out 45 min early due to freezing cold room temperature. yay! i had my big puffy jacket, so i was fine, but she was very cold!

exercise for the day has been done, but it was not as good as i had been doing lately. i really honestly didnt work as hard as usual due to major headache. however, it didnt feel so bad when i was workign out, which was nice. but now its back with a vengance.

b - cereal, strawberries with yogurt and sf vanilla syrup, turkey bacon, v8
l - chicken ceasar salad from work. yucky, made my tummy all wacky.
s - chocolate spinach shake before school
d - kidney beans with cheese, sour cream and salsa; shredded chicken, steamed summer squash and zucchini
d - banana with pb

still would like to have another fruit tonight. probably strawberries with my homemade chocolate syrup. yes, it does contain splenda, but i do feel better eating it (splenda, cocoa, and some liquid... water?? i dont remember i made it a few days ago...) than i do the sf chocolate nesquick which has more fake stuff. and it has much less calories.

as stated above, feeling crappy today so exercise numbers reflect that:

elliptical, 30 min.

cal - 378
distance - .96

no school tomorrow, but still work in the morning. ah....

oh and i have so much enjoyed the posts by the troll whompus and subsequently nessa today. quite entertaining.

Hey Jen!! Just wanted to stop by and say hi! I have been super busy preparing for the move and stuff....UGH so much stress, not good on the diet! But hey, i've been doing better than i could have been. Looks like you've been doing great. Your food looks fabulous. I love anything with strawberries in it! And way to go on avoiding the SF stuff...that just makes me feel weird, with the exception of the jello and popsicles, but the candy and stuff...YUCK!

Right now i'm apartment hunting and i'm leaning toward places with fitness centers on site, because the city i'm moving to doesn't have a big gym like 24 hour fitness or Bally or anything like that. So unless i want to pay an enormous amount for a pass at the Rec on campus (because i'm not a student right now), then i'm going to have to do it on my own! I think i'd be more likely to do it if i had a gym setting than if i just went out and jogged. I'm a wuss!! ENough, about me...Keep up the good work!!

I feel you on going back to school too! I remember those spring semesters were always harder because of the long break. I think i took summer school every summer for most of my college career!

So you're doing a challenge this month! That is fantastic. Once i finally get settled i think that would be fun. I've done a few before, and even though its "virtual" you still feel a sense of commitment or something!! You'll do great!

Talk to ya soon, and stay warm!!

not much time to type, should be working. but i really dont feel like it. thats bad.

ok yesterday the internet was being really slow at home so didnt get to post last night. so here it goes:

b - 1/4 ww waffle, yogurt with strawberries, turkey bacon, v8, milk
l - shripm scampi cake (like a crab cake....) soooo good. steamed carrots and zucchini.
d - sauteed paprika garlic shrimp, steamed asparagues with shoyu, steamed carrots
d - banana with pb, cheesecake pudding. mmmmm!

exercise was 30 min core (sooo hard!) and 30 min stretching/yoga. im feeling good today! oh and a 30 min brisk dog walk with ray.

i got a call back for a new job at the university last night. i applied like 2 months ago and had my phone interview, thought it was over since i hadnt heard from them, registered for the cbest and a yoga class friday late mornings. and last night i get a call from HR saying i have an interview next week. wow, was not expecting that. exciting. there are apparently 5 of us being interviewed out of 40 who applied. to be honest, ive never not gotten a job ive interviewed for, but i still always get nervous. so thats on my mind, and will be until next wednesday. scary. if i get it, bye bye yoga class. sad. ive really been looking forward to it!

today, so far, as been well. have a lunch meeting, get to see a friend who is returning from studying abroad...she is taking over my position as OA here, since i will be leaving soon whether it be subbing or the receptionist job on campus. i cant wait to see her!!!!

so far...

b - chocolate santosha smoothie, yogurt
l - whatever they have at the faculty club. it better be good. im hoping for soup, small salad, and some protein. and fruit!
d - crab cakes and some sort of veggies. most likely asparagus and carrots... we have so many!
d - fruit and something.

more later. must type for work, not pleasure.

just wanted to add in exercise stats.

elliptical, 30 min.
cal - 416
distance - .91

yes, those numbers look weird, since usually when i do that distance, i am not even past 400 cal. however, today i decided to up the ante and raise the resistance one level. amazing how different it felt!

also did arms and a little stretching/yoga.

katelynn - there are two different versions.

snack version -
a little spinach
unsweetened cocoa powder
milk
ice
splenda

meal version -
about 2 c. spinach
about .5 c. tofu
1 c. unsweetened vanilla soymilk
about 2 T. sf hot chocolate powder
ice sometimes

both very good. the snack one is much smaller, i usually have it before i go to class, it keeps me full for those 3 long hours! but the breakfast one keeps me full for about 5 hours. i have it mornings i "accidentally" sleep in and get a late start. and sometimes i put a little fruit in, usually strawberries if i feel like it.

ahh last day of the work week, no school. no work until wednesday! wow. but stayed at work much later than planned to help get ready for the opening of the winter shows and the reception tomorrow. im glad ray and i will be able to go to the reception and enjoy it, since i am not working!

i think this morning was the first time since starting the diet that i looked in the mirror and realized that i am getting smaller. it weird, i was trying to like make my tummy bigger but it wasnt happening. it felt really nice.

ok so food today:
b - cereal with milk, strawberries with yogurt, v8, 1 slice turkey bacon (burned the other one, gave it to the dog)
l - ceaser salad and chili
s - popcorn, apple with cheese, 3 crackers
d - home made beef and broccoli
d - not yet, will be fruit. i will guess the last banana and pb

exercise:
30 min elliptical, at same resistance as yesterday
cal - 430
distance - .96

amazing! it was much easier today, but still my legs are burning while im working out! did lots of good stretching afterwards. that is all, im tired.
