Stats for Thursday:

B: Uncle Sam cereal with bananas, 4 oz yogurt, 16 oz. water
S:
L: (Lunch was spread out and more of a couple snacks because of errand running): steamed broccoli and squash, dried apricots
D: WW Spaghetti w/homemade sauce, spaghetti squash, salad
D: apple with peanut butter and 100 Grand (That's all become my staple dessert!)

Since I've limited my Halloween candy bar consumption to 1 a day, I thought about it all day long yesterday trying to decide which one to choose. It's become quite the conundrum. I'm not even going to waste my time on anything that is not chocolate. I love Butterfingers, but they are so sweet that they hurt my sensitive teeth, they have gotten chintzy with the Baby Ruths and Snickers, with Twix you only get one little stick, 3 Musketeers are good, but not very substant (if that can be a word), Reeses Cups are just gone too quick... Do you see where I'm going with this? So for the last two nights I've gone with the 100 Grand, the bites are chewy and I can make it take two or three bites to make me feel like I'm eating more. My husband prefers Kit Kats, because there are two whole sticks (but he also eats about 67 others along with it). So that is today's analysis of Halloween candy. Hope you are enjoying yours!

100 Grand's are the bomb! But I love anything with caramel in it. I did find a treasure buried at the bottom of my son's treats; MilkyWay Dark Caramels! Oh.My.Gosh!!! I <3 them very much!. Good thing they are teeny, tiny.

I'm feeling really cruddy this evening. I think I'll be turning in soon. Hopefully my low back won't be giving me fits tomorrow.

Hope you have a pleasant evening.

OK, now those are the bomb! I love anything, and I mean anything, that has dark chocolate involved! I am soooo lucky that it is an allowed treat on SB. Just a little of the really good stuff is enough for me.

A church friend of mine emailed this to me... I thought you might enjoy and appreciate it...

Subject: only in Utah

A man was being tailgated by a woman on Foothill Boulevard in Salt Lake City. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the
intersection. The tailgating woman slammed on the brakes and leaned on the horn. She opened her window, stuck her hand out and made a gesture, all the
while screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police
officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose The Right' license plate holder, the 'Families are Forever' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Angel Moroni emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

....Oh, how i DON'T miss Utah drivers (especailly in the salt lake area!)!!!!!!!
Have a good weekend!!

Food for Friday:

B: Uncle Sam cereal with bananas
S:
L: Leftover spaghetti squash with meat sauce and 1 corn dog (I know not a good choice, but I hate to see food that I have bought get wasted, I'm cheap that way!)
S: dried apricots
D: Martha's Vineyard salad (see vent below) from Arby's w/ chicken, apple chunks, dried cranberries
D: None, I had a stomach ache (from the dried cranberries maybe?)

Here comes my vent about the salad from Arby's...

The cashier read the ingredients from a list he pulled from under the counter. Grilled chicken, apple chunks, dried cranberries, cheese, toasted almonds on a bed of spring mix greens. OK, so I ordered it, it sounded pretty good and SB friendly (and I would only use a touch of the Raspberry Vinagrette). I opened and much to my dismay, it was made with a cheap and wilted iceberg lettuce (yuck!), no tomatoes, very little chicken and way too many dried cranberries. While those were good, I think that's what pushed me over the edge. I agree, I didn't have to eat them, but I needed something because the entire salad barely covered the bottom of the container. Usually salads like that have a lot of lettuce to make you think you are getting something, but nope, not this one. Have to say I wouldn't recommend a salad from Arby's unless you ask to see it first and make sure you know what you are getting. Don't rely on what they tell you!

I just had to say, I went to Arby's last night also, and really wasn't impressed either. I (using the coupons I had), just ordered two beef & cheddars and two lg fries
(for dh for dinner last night and lunch today) and one chicken sandwich, which should have been about nine bucks, but somehow it came to over eleven. I think it's because when the cashier asked me whet kind of fries, i said curly because i assumed they cost the same. They never tell you if something costs more, which i think they should do, because who has the time at the minute you're ordering to seach the menu and find out the prices (ESPECIALLY if they are visually impaired like my husband, who can't read the board). I think the cashiers should always as a courtesy say when something will cost more, and i am going to write them a note and complain and suggest they do this.
As far as not throwing food away- i am exactly the same way (except i will do it with sandwich buns, because i can at least feed the birdies with them).

Hope you are feeling better today!!

I remember eating one of those salads back when I first started phase 2 and the kids wanted fast food. Frankly, I think Arby's to be vastly overpriced for the quality of food you get.

Had a good day, my low back seems better. I've been at a scrapbook crop all day, so I need to exercise tonight. Then a nice, hot shower. Mmmm, heaven!

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Oooh, a scrapbook crop, I'm jealous. My stuff just sits on my extra table calling me, and I just don't get to sit down to have any fun. Hope you got a lot done!

Happy Sunday!

I updated my exercise in the previous post. I actually got up early today and did my workouts...before church even! I amaze myself sometimes.

Hope you are having a great Sunday. I'm doing laundry, making potato soup and general tidying today. I would love to crop more, but I've got tons of laundry so....yeah.

I'll do a final food update tonight!

Week Two Exercise Plan

Postby meemoo » Mon Nov 06, 2006 4:39 pm

Well, I got on the scale this morning. No change. Still 134 lbs. I don't know why I keep weighing myself, I'm OK being at this weight. I can tell my chipmunk cheeks have gone away, I can see my cheekbones, and my bra is not a little too big. Those two things will make no difference in what size of pants I wear. I don't know why that is such an issue for me.

I did a Gilad workout today from FitTv. I've never done anything by him until today when I was scrolling though things and his was on. You have to respect a guy with an accent who can quote "The Karate Kid" with a move he calls "Wax on, Wax off". So I gave him a try. He kicked my buns! Literally, it was a thighs, buns, abs, shoulders workout, and the thighs and buns were a killer. I set my tivo to get more of him! My legs are still shaking!

As for food this week I'm going to keep it all in one post. It's driving me nuts scrolling through all my posts to find the day I'm on. Here goes:

I joined Spark People today (as well as joining my husband). It's a pretty cool website, if you haven't checked it out yet, it's totally free and really cool. It has some great features.

I have documented my food intake obviously for SB, but never actually saw where all the nutrients were coming from. It's interesting to see where I get my fat, fiber, iron etc. Today for the most part, my fat grams came all from cheddar cheese. I haven't actually bitten the bullet and bought the LF stuff. I've had problems with it in the past, and have been reluctant, especially when melting and cooking. But I'm committing myself to buy a small block when I shop in the next couple of days and try it again (maybe it's improved since I last tried it. ) I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but I guess it might.
