Was really yummy, but lots of calories and not as satisfying as a stir fry or something else~~~~~~~ maybe should look for a different choice next time or not have it as a main dish

One of my favorite suppers (even pre-SB days) is a big salad topped with taco meat, cheese, salsa, and ranch dressing... I imagine the ranch is a no-no now but the rest should be fine. I had a modified version of that a couple nights this week using the chili recipe you posted in this thread. It was very tasty and filling.

oohhh. I always forget about taco salad!

Actually ranch dressing is fine! Any dressing with less than 3 g. sugar per serving is legal. WOO HOO!

Cool! I'm at work, too, so couldn't check... actually, I'm out and have just been having Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar on salads.

I really like topped salads in the summer... nice cool meal. Can do the same with all kinds of cooked protein, served cold!

Love your journal. I was cracking up about your comments on Alton Brown & Bobby Flay. I am a total Food Network addict. I watch it most of the time.

Question on your chicken mole recipe. Do you have to add tequila or will any liquid (ie chicken stock) work? Not that I am opposed to alcohol or anything, I just do not keep tequila around....too many bad...err embarassing memories

I have banned tequila from my life as well, as it has embarassed me more times than I can count

VAgirl0213- What is so funny is that it seems tequila is everyone's liquor that has been banned from their life at some point or another  I have so many friends whose stories start with "there was this one time that so and so and I were at the bar and started doing tequila shots...." and the story always ends badly for them...but entertaining for me

roffle at the tequila situation!

tequila hasn't been banned at my house yet. It does make me pretty.. ahem... punchy though. I'll never say no to a tequila shot.

But, back on topic, chicken stock should work fine.

haha I know! those guys are so... unattractive... I'm making a mix tape of all the songs that they played at our jr. high dances. It's bringing back some wild memories.

They are unattractive...and the one guy looks like Kenny G  In their defense though...really who could look attractive wearing those outfits!

ETA: Sorry to pry but I saw in the beginning of your journal that you are on sparkspeople. I signed up there too w/the South Beach Babes team.

yeah those outfits are ... different.

I was thinking the exact same thing: Kenny G!

What do you do on teams on sparkpeople? Is it for sparkpoints? I haven't really explored much there outside of the nutrition tracker.

The sparksteams are basically just to track sparkspoints and chat. There is separate forum for each team but it does not seem to have a lot of traffic. I mainly use the nutrition/exercise tracker and peek at the forum but not much else. I find this forum much more entertaining!

Hey I did not know my picture was still out there....I thought I took that down

Found another baked pasta recipe I'm going to try:

Beef Talerine Casserole

http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/0 ... serole.php

Should be pretty easy to beachify. Just cut down on the cheese, use ww noodles and add more veggies. I still have tons of leftovers to eat though, so this might not get made until early next week. Just wanted to mark the recipe so I'll remember.
