Congrats on turning in your thesis!! My friend was sooo happy to be done too...what a load off your shoulders! I hope you are able to take a break (or a vacation!) to celebrate your accomplishments! :D

Gosh, your workouts are really intense. I'm a lazy butt. I walk my dog every day, and work out for like 45 min at the gym (maybe) two or three days a week. I need to be more like you!!

Keep up the good work!!

Haha thanks guys!! :D

My workouts have been intense lately because for some reason I get really motivated when I get to the gym. I figure- I might as well jump on that feeling while it's there!

I didn't work out yesterday because I had to stay at school until after 7 at night so by the time I got home it was after 8 and I was exhausted. I'm working out today though! My menu was beachy but a little weird because I ate a bunch of snacks leading up to dinner because I got home so late. Then for dinner I had pb and celery. Eh well.

This was my menu for yesterday (I'm writing it out so I can see what it looked like  )

B: two quiche cups
S: coffee w/ milk
L: pizza beans w/ cheddar cheese, 1/4 of a green pepper, a 1/4-1/2 a cup of this barley salad mix w/ onions and some raisins among other things (nice lady at school brought me another salad to try, thank god these things are whole grain!)
S: 1/4 green pepper, cup of yogurt
S: apple on the way home from school and a diet coke (to keep me awake)
D: 3 stalks celery w/ pb (prob 2 tbsp)

And that was it... guess it doesn't seem THAT bad when you add up the snacks to a dinner. For some reason the celery tasted REALLY salty. I don't get it!

The View just came on and they are watching some couple get married- they look like mother and son :?

I'm off to eat a late breakfast/lunch (prob a quiche cup and pizza beans) then digest and workout! Tomorrow is most likely another off workout day because I have to work my FINAL day at my retail job! Ah!

So you're enjoying the Pizza Beans eh? I made them once and they were pretty icky, I think I screwed up the recipe though, they were really dry. Maybe I'll give them another try.

The new spin on the quiche cups sounds yummy... I LOVE sausage! A friend of mine who is sort of on SB was giving me some good ideas for recipes - ground chicken with taco spice, with mushrooms & cheese, wrapped in a ww tortilla. Yum! I think I'm going to try it out soon.

Have you been tracking your results since you restarted? You seem to be doing so well :)

Cheryl~ you screwed up the pizza beans?? Hun, there are three ingredients with an optional fourth one... how could you screw them up??

Marnie~ do they soak them in salt water or what?? I usually love celery and buy it all the time... this was ICK!

Ok guys so I have kind of an embarassing question. I'll start with the story....

So DBF drank "for charity" the other night- (Monday). It was all you could drink for X amt of $ to raise money to send some med students to a third world country to help give medical care to children. So I didn't go b/c I had to do work, but DBF came home pretty drunk and came in to tell me a story. I knew he was drunk, but I'd seen him way drunker in college before. So he left the bedroom after he was done talking and drank water and ate something. One of the things he LOVES to do when drunk is sleep naked... not sure why- he even used to do it when he was sleeping over in my dorm room when I had a roommate!!

So I was totally out from not sleeping the night before. I woke up in the morning and he was in bed but I didn't realize he was naked. Usually if he's REALLY drunk he'll sleep on the couch because he passes out watching TV or drinking water or something. So I didn't think he had been that drunk and he woke up bright as day at 8am.

Fast forward to last night. I was sitting on the couch doing work, and was kind of sitting on the edge of a couch cushion (so my butt slid down lower than the cushion next to me). I get up and it seems like my pants are wet. I felt the cushions- they were fine on top. I flip one over and it was soaked, along with the pull out bed underneath it. I smelled it- smelled like the couch. No color to it, so I assumed he had spilled water and flipped the couch cushion over. So I took off the cushions to let them air out so they wouldn't get moldy.

I asked him when he got in from studying last night. He said "uhhhh. I woke up naked in the morning in bed and panicked that I had a dream about peeing in my sleep. the bed wasn't wet and neither was the couch so I thought i was ok.... OMG. Do you think I peed on the couch?" WHAT? You WHAT? You PEED on our COUCH?? He kept saying that maybe it was water because he had drank a lot (and I interject, then you peed it all over the couch) and that he might have spilled a glass of it on the couch. He's NEVER peed himself after being drunk in the entire 2 years 9 or so months we've been dating!

So I'm convinced it's pee and it's STILL wet. I think it just sank to the bottom of the cushions leaving the top dry. I febreezed it but don't know how to go about cleaning it. What do I do???? HELP! I feel like I have a bad dog or something!!!

soak it up with paper towels.., throw some febreeze on there-- as long as it doesn't smell like pee you're prolly okay.

poor thing- just tell yourself it's water.. it might be...

Hey Crystal...
I've heard of that kind of thing happening to people after a lot of drinking. In fact, one of my girlfriends woke up in a puddle courtesy of a "one night stand "guy" one night.

I'd say same as Marnie, Febreze it and hope for the best! At least it would be diluted by all the alcohol...

PS Yes I screwed up the pizza beans, I think I didn't use enough bruschetta. There is no Trader Joes where I live so I used a jar from the grocery store but I think it was too small of a jar.

I febreezed the crap out of the couch last night. I think it's mostly dry- I had originally tried to get a bunch up with a paper towel but it just seemed to go further into the cushion. Oh well, at least it doesn't smell!

Yesterday I didn't get as much done as I hoped- thesis edits took WAY longer than I thought. Was going to get them done by 2pm... which turned into 11pm! Then I had to get my lunch/dinner ready to leave early this morning since I'm working 3-8 at my retail job (LAST shift ever!). Got here earlier than usual though so I'll be working on my presentation until I have to leave. I'm getting soooo nervous! I'm going to spend this whole weekend studying because they ask me questions for like an hour after the defense- YIKES! I'm so scared.

I'm already planning on making SB mac and cheese for Tues night. And Lady and the Tramp comes out Tuesday too!! I'm a huge Disney fan so I'm so excited to finally get this on DVD! I may even go to get it before my defense- HA!

Yesterday DBF and i went to "body sculpt" at the Y. OMG. I almost died. The little powerhouse that was teaching it (we're talking LITTLE- like 4'10 at the tallest) was CRAZY. She was like 45 and kicking everyone's ass! There was so much arm work- at one point she even came over and asked if it was my first time because I was "making faces". haha. That was because DBF and I would laugh everytime we would look at eachother because we'd catch ourselves making these horrible straining faces.

No workout today, but I may try to run again tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. I think I might have to go in to school tomorrow too which would suck because Fridays are the WORST for driving. Oh well.

Have a great Thursday everyone! :D

Thanks marn! They bought me a cake too!! It made me sad to leave. I only had one small piece of the cake though, but then had another when I got home (since I had to take the whole damn thing home! it was HUGE!). My tummy really hurt  Oh well, I brought the cake to school today and put it in the conference room so it'd be AWAY from me. It was my first real cheat on the beach and I don't feel that bad about it. I'm not beating myself up and I hopped right back on this morning- even ate lunch in the conference room next to the thing and didn't even want any!!

Another victory: it was a late night at work for most people (2am) b/c we've got "roll out" for the last spring line/first summer line for women so there were a bunch of people there. When they have to stay late they buy pizza for everyone. They asked what I wanted on it and I said I wasn't having it. My manager pushed a little and finally just said "well if you WERE going to have some- what kind? cheese?" so I said sure.

THEN I go to ask if I can take my break, I walk out and my other manager hands me the TWO piping HOT pizzas and says "just in time!" So I sat in the break room with two HOT pizzas right next to me while I ate my nf plain yogurt w/ jello in it and my pepper slices. HA HA SB Gods!

So all in all, two little pieces of cake won't kill me and I resisted on the pizza... even after one of the employees kept going on about how good the pizza was.

AND I FINISHED my thesis today. We're talking DONE- revisions finally done. Handed out copies to my committee so there's no turning back now. I did some extra research on tuesday and my advisor had another student run one of my samples on a different instrument and got some interesting results late yesterday afternoon... so I check my email last night at MIDNIGHT and there's the email- "hey Crystal, could you write this up? add this this and this to the end of your results section." Yeahhhhh. So I got no sleep but it's finally done. Thank god.

Off to work on the presentation! Then maybe home early for a nap. I gotta work out today since I didn't have time yesterday. I'm still hurting from that body sculpt class! Ah!

Happy Friday everyone!

So I had a pretty eventful day yesterday... well, in terms of SHOPPING! HA! It was the last day I could get my discount at work so I took advantage. This is what I got (and how much of a discount 8) )

- a navy pinstripe suit (50% off)
- new pair of jeans (that look AMAZING on me!) (50% off)
- a pair of dark brown linen trousers (50% off)
- a really cute top- kind of like a halter but looks a bit Audrey Hepburn- navy with tiny white poka dots (I LOVE IT) (50% off) It's going to look amazing w/ a white skirt!
- three tissue tees w/ little cap sleeves and a scoop neck in solid green, solid navy, and white w/ a turquoise flower pattern all over it (30% off each)
- two vintage polo shirts- turquoise and white (30% off each)
- navy blue cropped pants (60% off - special deal for employees to promote the new line)
- a brown polo (already on sale for $5 less, got it an additional 30% off of that)

And then three gift cards that I got at 30% off- one was for DBF ($50) and two ($50) were for me!! I would have spent a lot more if I had had the money though!! I can see myself buying clothes WAY less often now that I don't have a discount!

Then I stopped at Trader Joe's and bought some stuff- got bean sprouts which I LOVE, and some sweet potato fries I'm excited to try. DBF and I are going to make pizza w/ the pizza dough I bought tomorrow or tonight I think. Also more bruschetta to keep in the cupboard for the next time I want to make pizza beans.

I was really tired when I got home and even passed out in bed for a little bit, woke up at 8:30- layed there trying to get up for 20 minutes, then went to the Y and worked out for an HOUR! How awesome am I? I was one of three people there - ha! I ran at 4.6 because I have only run twice since my hip injury. It's crazy- I actually can FEEL that it's stronger!

Today is all work on my presentation, then working out sometime before 7. Gotta get the presentation done today!!!

Have a great weekend![/code]

Been bad w/ my diet today... more like I haven't been eating b/c I was working on my presentation.

B: 2 quiche cups, 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ strawberry jam

L: 1/2 cup cheesecake pudding, steak w/ tomatoes and onions w/ cheese and sprouts on top (I know, weird)

S: 1/2 cup jello
S: coffee
S: 1/4 - 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ strawberry jam, a tbsp or 2 of pb, can of tomato juice

Don't really have anything else in the house to eat and it's almost 10:30pm. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Just did my Tae Bo DVD that I haven't touched in about a year. The Y closes at 7pm on Saturdays and I was working on my presentation until 8:30. It was the Ultimate Butt one- I've never gotten through the whole thing and I did it all tonight! I could actually feel that I was stronger! Although my hip hurt a little I think I did really well.

I can definitely tell a difference in my body in only 3 weeks. I feel better than I ever did on this diet- I really think it's the working out and not stressing about eating. Still haven't weighed myself since the fitness test. Gotta get a battery for that scale!

Milestone today! I put on a pair of pants I haven't worn in a while, and they fit great! They used to be REALLY tight in the hips and thighs- mostly where my hip joint is.

I mentioned it to DBF when he got home and he goes "yeah! I was noticing, you look really good!" and I said "yeah they used to be really tight around the thighs." and he goes "yeah, I remember- they pulled right there [points] and the pockets stuck out."

my reply: "YOU NOTICED they looked bad and you DIDN'T TELL ME?!?!" And he goes "oh my god I couldn't do that!!!!!"

He's probably right- he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't

Still no scale but clothes are fitting great and my saddle bags are going away 8) I want to be down to 135 by May 6th. I suspect I'm a little over 140 right now but I'm not sure because I've gained muscle. I think my ultimate goal is 130 (or maybe 125 in my head, but I don't remember being that weight since... umm... 9th grade?).

Off to make some pizza w/ my ww TJ's dough!!!
