It is now seven months from the day I decided to change my life for the better and join this crazy South Beach Family. I am down 67 pounds and feeling strong for today. Who the heck knows what tomorrow will bring but for today I am here. Food has less power over me and I am able to eat to live, not live to eat. I have decided it is time to take the plunge and start keeping a journal. This forum and my fellow turtle beachers have guided and supported me through this incredible ongoing life change and I am forever greatful!

Thanks Kathie!
Just returned from a late dinner with friends. Is it only me who thinks it's awful when others try to tell you what to eat! This is my body, my choices and I should stand up for myself and tell them to bud out!

Thanks Crystl! It's scary starting a journal but I think it will keep me motivated and focused on this new WOL. I love reading your journal and new life experiences. You seem to be in a very healthy place and good things are happening. Keep sharing-us married ladies like to live your new romance vicariously!
This week I am tackling arm weights and trying to reach a goal of using them three times a week to start. Hope I can do it!!
I have a 10 week puppy that is up at 3:30 everynight -Grady, and I am trying to make myself go back to sleep after letting him out and cleaning up messes. I think I am a little sleep deprived! Trying to keep our busy family life thriving while improving me! Working it everyday!! Thanks for joining me at my spot on the beach!!

You're doing great! ...and we love puppies...we want pics of Grady!

Let us know how the arm wieghts go...I'm stalling a bit and know I need to amp up my work outs.

With Grady, you've got a built-in personal trainer...gotta love those walks!
Have a great SB day!

Hi Wiley!

Thought I'd stop by and say "hello" and thank you for visiting my journal - I appreciate any encouragement I can get right now! Honestly, tune in tomorrow for that tantrum I promised!

67lbs! That's AWESOME! And here's me complaining about the 10 that I have to lose (okay, they seem to be clinging on for dear life but still!). You know you are an inspiration to people. You are changing the world honey!

I noticed that you mentioned you are working hard on those arms. How's things going?

Fell on my can!!

Postby wileybosco » Sat Jan 14, 2006 7:46 pm

Ok Crystl-That will be my next learning challenge-read up on the stickies that explain just how to add a pic. and get a pic displayed of my two beautiful labradors, Cole and Grady.
Thanks Caffrey for jumping in. I tried your ideas-but used a chair with wheels. Went Flying! Too funny. My father always calls me Grace when I do something physically foolish. This time would have been appropriate. Next time I will try the arm excercises on a fixed chair! I will keep you posted of my struggles and successes!

easy breezy, Wiley...save pic on your computer..then go to imageshack.com and hit browse..which will allow you to access your pic files. Once you open the pic you want to post...hit Host It and wait for the URL for websites to appear.(the first one) Copy/paste it into your post.Hit preview first to make sure it took ...then "submit" the pics for Grady's new fan club!

Morning Musings

Postby wileybosco » Sun Jan 15, 2006 12:41 pm

I will persevere and work through the picture problem. He and all the other furry friends in my family deserve to be shown off. I have two cats and now two dogs(and two teens) and life is very rich! May need an ark....Grady waited until 5:30 this morning to begin his ritualistic yapping to entice me downstairs to proudly show he had pooped in his bed! From then on I have been a domestic queen, folding laundry, emptying and filling the dishwasher, and standing outside in a winter blizzard to have a pup stare at me. Looking at me like I am an idiot, expecting him to pee outside in the snow rather than on the warm rug inside!
Food has been on track...I feel strong for this moment...hope it carries me through the weekend!

Up at all hours!!

Postby wileybosco » Mon Jan 16, 2006 8:22 am

Yup-I knew Caffrey would get the correct visual of my effort to improve my arms! It is three in the morn and I have just cleaned the dog crate again of pee and poop and got the pup back in. I'm tired yet have a burst of energy and not quite ready to go back to bed. The boys have off tomorrow and are looking forward to a lazy day. I need to food shop and be better planned for meals. I know that getting back into the habit of crock pot meals will help on those crazy swim meet nights. Evenings are always chaotic and I know I can make it smoother if well planned. I will try to loosly plan for at least two crockpot meals for this week. Snow has returned and I think there is nothing better than a crock pot stew, or chili, mexican beef or pulled pork. The possibilities are endless-now I must turn it into reality and get shopping. Now where's that lite and easy crockpot recipe book I received for Christmas.....
