Bowled over by work. Blech! Trying to keep myself going, though, by planning some exercise later today. It is rainy here, so I am going to do some yoga and some stretching. I wish there was an online yoga workout available. I am going to check into that.

Today's menu:
B: bacon and eggs, ice cream (dude, I don't know what happened)
S: banana
L: turky sandwich with green beans
D: bacon (wtf?), ww pasta, and a bunch of raw veggies w/hummus
S: milk, banana, almonds

Okay, so not the most Beachy day, but not devastating either. Need to get that yoga done.

I was hoping to go swimming tomorrow, but I don't think it will clear up, so I need to find something else to do. A friend has a treadmill, so I might use that instead.

Okay, so I am doing good in some areas and not so great in others. This week I have had ice cream twice, breaded food twice, and a desert crepe once. Yikes. But, I have been exercising a lot...swimming and walking. Sigh...It will be good to get back home and get into a regular routine again. I will go back to the gym and things will even out. Plus, I will be on my own turf, so I will be eating the things that I normally do instead of stuff I shouldn't.

Now, I am stumped for breakfast food ideas. I have been eating the same breakfast for months and months and months: 1/2 turkey sandwich on ww bread with a slice of red pepper. Now, I need something different. I am thinking maybe those littel breakfast quiches. I don't know. I try to make sure I have one of my grain servings in the morning, so I don't want to change that.

My schedule for fall looks good. 11:30-4:00 TTH. I like it!

So good to be home. I miss my bf, but I am glad to be back in my own space.

I am getting my hair cut and eyebrows waxed later today in preparation for the new school year. I don't dread it, but it will be hard to go back after having such a great summer. I mean, on the one hand it was super stressful and on the other it was the best summer I have had in years. Relaxing and fun.

I am also down to my lowest weight since the 90s, and I feel great about that! I never thought I would get below 315, but here I am at 267! w00t!

It is back to the gym this week, I think. I mean, I don't feel like I get much out of going to Curves, so it is hard for me to persuade myself to go back, especially since I accidentally forgot to pay my dues. I would rather join another gym, one with more options for exercises. Curves is the same thing over and over again. B-O-R-I-N-G! I know I keep saying that, but... I am not sure what I can do in replace of it. The nearest gym is a bus ride away, and I am afraid that I won't go if I have to take the bus.

Today's Menu
B: 1/2 roast beef sandwich, carrots, grapes, milk
S: almonds, banana
L: steak, asparagus, ww pasta
D: veggies and humus, milk

Tuesday's Menu
B: 1/2 roast beef sandwich, red pepper, strawberries, milk
S: almonds, banana
L: steak, asparagus, ww pasta
S: peach, cottage cheese
D: veggies and humus, milk

Wednesday's Menu
B: 1/2 roast beef sandwich, red pepper, grapes, milk
S: almonds, banana
L: chicken, green beans
S: peach, cottage cheese
D: veggies and humus, milk

So, I am back in town--again--after enjoying the holiday weekend. I kept Beachy kind of...I had some ice cream and some watermelon. Other than that, I was good to go. Now, I am feeling like I am coming down with something. I feel a little achy and all stuffy headed. Yesterday, I had a horrible migraine. Who knows what is going on. Maybe it will pass. Maybe I am just tired.

Just started the September Challenge. Yeah!!

Today's Menu wasn't all that hot:
B: Hagen Daas PB and chocolate ice cream (yikes!)
S: almonds and banana
L: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes (yikes!), and a couple spoons of corn (yikes!!)
D: shrimp, green beans, and grapes (now that is more like it!)

Gotta fit in a cardio workout somehow. Maybe some yoga.

Thursday--Did super fine. STayed on the Beach without any problems. Didn't even want to cheat, which is better than Tuesday, when I walked through the grocery store eyeing up every nasty snack in the joint.

Friday--Did great today. Walked a lot and even tried a new recipe, black bean brownies! Wow, those are so good. Glad that I tried them.

Doing pretty good with the challenge, though I need to fit in more actual workouts. Maybe tomorrow night.

My Tallies Thus Far:

Days Beachy--5/6
Aerobic Exercise--5/6
Strength Training--1/6
Stage Points--4

I doubt I will be a warrior this week...maybe next.

My Black Bean Brownie Recipe
1 can black beans, drained, rinsed well, drained
4 large eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
4 T. unsweetened cocoa powder (good quality)
pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T. oil
1/4 c. honey
walnuts
semisweet chocolate chips

Since I have no blender, I had to alter how this was mixed. I drained, rinsed and drained the beans, then mashed them with a pastry tool and then with a fork until they were the consistency of paste. Then, I added the eggs and other ingredients. Stir in walnuts and chips. Pour into a sprayed 8 x 8 pan. Bake at 350 or 375 35-40 min.

Well, I had an iced mocha, and I am not sure what that does to my Beachiness. I think that the syrup puts me over. I wonder how many calories are in regular dark chocolate syrup?? Can this be my sweet treat?

Sigh....

So, I think I did just fine today. I made those California Chicken Enchiladas and they were so good. I didnt have rice or anything with them, but next time I might make some brown rice with lime and cilantro or maybe even some black bean and quinoa salad with lime. Yummy!

I didn't leave the house today because I had so much work to do. I did, however, do Walk Away the Pounds AND a yoga video. Super proud of myself for that!! Never did two exercise videos back to back or even in the same day. :D

Hoping that tomorrow I will see results from the challenge. I am bloated right now, though. I guess TOM is on the way...stupidhead!

Anyway, back to work.

Tomorrow I am trying the califlower and cheese bake. I bet that is good.

Well, today was an interesting day. I had a disturbing night's sleep last night, and so I had trouble getting up on time this morning. I actually slept in until...10 am. I probably wouldn't have gotten up then if a friend hadn't called. Then, when I finally got my act together to go work out, I found that my right knee (the one with the Baker's cyst) was absolutely killing me. So, I took some Tylenol and decided to see how it would feel once I walked over to the gym. Well, it was really hurting by the time I got there, so I completed my errands and came home. Hrrmmm! I really wanted to work out today. So, I guess I will see if it is better by tonight, so that maybe I can talk a long walk in the park. The weather is just so beautiful here.

Yesterday, I was so surprised about something. I had just worked five hours (include walks to and from the bus stop) and decided to get off the bus at the grocery store. As I got off the bus, I was thinking about how just six months ago, I would not have done that. I would have been so tired after working those five hours that all I would have wanted to do was go home, have dinner, and pass out. Now, I felt completely energized, like I hadn't been at work at all. Amazing!!

My weight is fluctuating. It goes from 267 to 270 to 268 to 273, etc. I hate that!!

Well, back to work and to plotting out my walk for this evening. Can't wait to head out doors.
