Thanks so much for your kind words, cheeky. I can't tell you how much they help me!

Good luck in your own efforts. I love reading the journals here. Just when I feel low, I read a few entries and get right back on plan.

Hi Smurlene! I just noticed your journal. I am a fellow PCOS sufferer. I intend to take sometime and read more of your journal but the struggle for fertility is something that is dear to my heart. Take care!

Hi Pixie--Boy, oh boy, PCOS is a real stinker, isn't it? It has become obvious to be that even though I have now lost 67+ lbs that it is not enough. I am going to try supplementation next. Maybe add chromium and mega B vitamins. I was taking those before, but quit because I lost my job or something like that. It just sucks that drs. claim that dieting alone is enough.

The fertility quest is another thing altogether....

Just updated my front page with my latest results ala Curves.

In brief, in four months I have....

lost 25 lbs
lost 19.88 body fat lbs
lost 22.25 inches

Things have been going pretty well. I have been really, really tired the past couple of days. It took all the strength that I have to get to the gym today. Even then I only did half my circuit. I just didn't want to and didn't feel like finishing. But I am recommitting myself to exercising three days a week starting Wednesday. I mean, I do exercise five days a week with walking, but I need to make sure I am going to the gym regularly.

I think I know why I have been so tired: GERD. I have recently had a GERD flare up and it seems that when I have that problem that I don't get enough sleep. Hopefully, a week or so of Prilosec and I will be fine. That has worked in the past. I am not sure what set it off, since I have had it under control for a long while now. It could be all that Cosmos salad or iced tea or maybe bananas. In any case, the Prilosec should calm things down soon so that my energy levels will go up again.

I am in the throes of a grad course right now, and it is going very, very well. A little time consuming, but in a good way. Well, back to it.

Posted these on the before and after board, but I figured it might give me some inspiration to post them here as well.

If you have read my journal, you know how nervous (and very wary) I am about posting before and after shots. However, I figured why not???

Hi Smurlene!! You look AMAZING!!!! I'm so thankful I checked the boards this morning. I just weighed in and now am officially 1lb. higher than I've ever been. I'm so frustrated with myself but now that I've seen your pictures I'm so motivated! You have come so far and as always you have an incredible positive attitude. You really are an inspiration.

I'm starting phase 1 again today and a new journal so I will keep checking in to say hello!

Keep up the great work. You are gorgeous!!!

Legal--Thanks for taking a look. It took a lot of courage for me to post these. In fact, it was your pics in part that made me do it. The other was my new boyfriend. He took one look at me in that dress and nearly tripped over his feet coming to kiss me, so I figured that I must look pretty snazzy. In fact, he thought I looked so cute that he made an appt. to get our pics professionally done! Nice. :D All of my friends say that I look and sound happy, and I truly am for the first time in years. It is as though I was so unhappy for so long that I didn't realize how bad it was until I was happy again. And seeing the progress I have made sure makes me want to keep up the good work.

tina--I am so glad that you are getting back on track. These boards are just the thing for that. I will always be grateful for the support I have gotten here (and will continue to get). Send me a link to your new journal so I can see how you are doing! Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks, Cheeky! What surprises me is how healthy my skin looks. And I was so unbelievably happy when that pic was snapped. (I remain in my little joy bubble.) :D

Buoyed by my before and during pics, I am wanting to get all aggressive about my exercise routine. I am BORED with Curves, and I actually find msyelf losing whether I go there or not. In fact, my fastest weight loss was the month that I didn't go to Curves at all. I also ate all kinds of stuff that I shouldn't. :? Anyway, I need to switch up my exercise routine before I lose my mind.

I am at an impasse here. I really want to move into this apartment complex because it has a pool and a great gym, but at the same time, it would be a longer walk to the grocery. As much as I like walking everywhere, it is finally starting to get inconvenient not having a car, so I probably have to suck it up and buy one. If only my city was a walking city.

So for now, here is my plan: continue go to Curves three days a week (the walk there and back and the exercise means that I am in motion for about 1 1/2 hours, which is good), then go walking in the park near my house in the evenings and on Saturdays. I take Sundays off.

My question: is it worth it to move to a smaller space for a better workout facility and a swimming pool?

Hi Smurlene! WOW you sound like you're on an exercise rampage :D

I have a friend who was just struggling with the very same thing you are about finding a place with a gym. She ended up choosing a smaller space for a great gym and pool to save herself the cost of a gym membership. She just decided to get rid of some stuff she didn't need to make more room. She's very happy with her decision...especially the pool! :)

Don't feel bad about getting bored of curves. It happens to everyone it seems. I was bored after about 3 months. I need a real gym where I can make things exciting by switching up my routine with swimming or a class or something.

I haven't started my new journal yet. I've decided I'm going to wait until I'm done with phase 1 but I will send you a link when I start it. So far this week I've lost 7lbs in 2 days and that makes me feel so good. I've been to the gym every day so far and plan to go every day except Saturday. Saturday we're taking the dog out for a big walk since phase 1 on the weekend is so hard we have to keep ourselves busy.

You are doing so great! Keep up the good work! Keep us posted about your moving situation!!

Tina--I love the idea of being on an exercisse rampage! That is so awesome. And I do feel like that. For now, I plan to workout at Curves in the mornings and go for a long walk in the park in the evenings.

I am so glad that idea of moving to a smaller place worked out for your friend. I am going to make my final decision on Friday after I have had a chance to explore that area a little more. If I had a car, it would be a very simple decision. I would just move there, but without a car, I have to choose wisely because the situation I am in right now is pretty ideal for someone who is always on foot.

Way to go on the loss! Doesn't it feel so good to be down some more pounds!! Wonderful!

I just want to hang out in bed in my pjs and finish the new Harry Potter, but exercise and work are calling my name.
