Day 11

I am down 17 lbs!! I weigh 320. (If I had more room, I would do a cartwheel.)

I eat all day. (Like a hog goin' through corn, my grandma would say.) But, this diet is so balanced. 2,000 calories a day. 2-3 servings of dairy. 1 serving of grain or fruit. Around 6 cups of fresh veggies. Good protein. Good fat. And, did I say delicious!!

Plus, my cardiologist/PCOS specalist has given it his seal of approval. :D

I am disappointed in msyelf, however, because I woke up later today (11:00 am) after working so hard to get up early yesterday. Tomorrow, I have to be up at 7 am, so I have to make myself go to sleep earlier. GRRRR!!

My tummy is noticeably smaller, but I can't measure myself until Friday.

I am a little freaked at the moment. My right leg is hurting. My legs used to hurt all of the time for no reason that any doc could determine, but they got better once I started ovulating regularly. It was my theory all along that it was tied to my cycle because during the three days before ovulation and the three days before my period, my legs would hurt. In the case of ovulation, it would hurt on the side that I was ovulating on.

Anyway, so now it hurts, and I am 7-10 days from having a period. It is not swollen, and it doesn't burn. (I am scared of blood clots.) It could be:

1. Change in the weather.
2. My period coming early.
3. Sitting at my desk too long.
4. My Baker's cyst.
5. Something else entirely.

I just hope the pain goes away soon. I have had cheese today. Maybe a glass of milk wtih lunch will make it stop.

So, it is probably the weather with my leg. I talked to my Mom and she has the same problem that I do. Our legs often hurt at the same time, and it is usually during a change in the weather. I know there is no science behind it, but personal experience tells me otherwise.

My Mom had good news today, too. They found a lump in her breast at her last mammogram, so they had her do a second mammorgram and then an ultrasound. It is a fluid-filled cyst. The relief is immeasurable!

Today's Menu:
B: 2 boiled eggs, 3/4 cup oats, V-8
S: LCL, pistachios
L: chicken, broccoli, black beans w/a side of cuccumbers
S: 1 cup plain yogurt
D: lean steak, mashed cauliflower, green beans

I took a hot bath, some Tylenol, and took a 10 minute nap and the leg pain is gone. It has to be the weather.

No problem with the menu! I make up my menus a week in advance in pencil and adjust them as needed. I feel like I have more control that way.

The boards help more than anything else on Earth. I always felt like I was alone when dieting or trying to make a life change. Now, I feel like the Beach is not only populated, it is crowded, and I love a good crowd!

I am tired and irritated right now because I have to get up two hours earlier than usual to go to a breakfast meeting, and my day is all screwed up tomorrow because of several other meetings. Adminttedly, this doesn't happen very often, but still!

Also, my ovarian pain has come back after being gone for a couple of days. I just don't know where it is coming from. My doc thought it was an ectopic, but my hpt is negative, so I am going to repeat it tomorrow. If the pain gets worse, I am going to have to go in for an ultrasound in the next couple of days.

But, everything else is going swimmingly. Still no temptations. No desire to eat anythng I shouldn't, though I did have butter tonight. I don't think butter is the demon most folks think that it is. I don't want to eat it everyday, but once a week or so isn't all that bad.

I came in at 1900 calories today with about 1/3 of each protein, carbs, and fats. I have been drinking 3-4 cups of hot green tea per day, too, and at least 10 glasses of water. Feeling good. Lots of energy. Lots of excitement and hope.

I took two tests this morning. (Okay, so it is 4:14 am, and I haven't been in bed yet. I think it is anxiety because I know I have to get up so early 6:30.)

A pregnancy test because I have been having right sided pain in my pelvic area. It was negative. The first time I have prayed for a negative pregnancy test in 10 years. My doc thought I could have an ectopic again, but nope, negative. Must just be a cyst.

A hip measurement. On Sunday, Jan. 15 my hip measurement was 66". It is now (on Tuesday, Jan. 17) 64". Two inches lost! I measured my waist, 36", and it was the same. My hips are my biggest problem. I didn't dare measure anything else for fear of jinxing it. :D

Well, I think I am going to try to get something like sleep for two hours. Maybe try the couch. Sigh....

Sounds like a cyst Smurlene. I wouldn't worry. They can cause mega pain tho. My neice had one the last couple of months that put her in a lot of pain.

Get some sleep girlllll. Have you seen the studies done on sleep and weight loss?? I got that problem to tho. I dont want to go to bed. But I know it is good for me!!! Google the sleep thing. That will get you on regular hours!

Wow I took all my measurements even my neck roflol. Cuz I know it can help when the pounds are not coming off. I did arms, above bust below bust. I lose weight in the weirdest places. I did that when I was doing Bob Greene. I still want the extra tonnage gone tho!

The only thing that would jinx you is you thinking it is all right to eat more cuz you are losing... I am good for that too

Dawn--Thanks for writing. I don't really wonder why bad things happen to me and not to others, though in my darkest hours, I do a bit of "why me?" crying. The house burning down five days before Christmas was the last straw. I went into severe depression that finally lifted at the first of this year. This board has really helped me a lot because I know that there are so many people out there who deeply care for the health and well being of others and this is a wonderful feeling!

Paradigm--Oh yikes, I do need some sleep. I try to get at least six hours a night. I often get eight, but last night was very weird. Too much green tea with jasmine? Anxiety over my early meeting? Who knows, but I am going to try to be in bed by 9:30 tonight, so I can wake up bright and early tomorrow.

Awesome that you took measurements. I was really inspired by the results from them because we you have a decrease in measurements then you cannot possible think the weight loss is all water.

I haven't gotten to that point where you eat more because you are still losing, but that is definetely me in the past. I think I have more control this time around because I am not hungry and I know I can always have something delicious at the next meal or snack. I swear that my resolve must be steel to not eat all of the Laughing Cow Light in the 'fridge. I limit myself to one ounce a day.

This can be done, this can be done, this can be done....

Hi Smurlene-

Congrats on the loss of inches! 2 inches is amazing!

I hope that all your pain goes away very soon.

I remember when I was doing my Masters sometimes I would be so anxious about a test or exam the next day, I would lay in bed unable to fall asleep all night. it was a terrible time because i so badly wanted and needed to sleep but i couldnt. i know this may be very hard but it really helped me just to stop worrying and not think about having to wake up for a meeting or exam. if my body didnt want to sleep i wasnt going to make it... so i would watch tv or read and not worry about sleeping and it really helped me fall asleep. i dont know if this will help you- but maybe it is worth a try.

Jumanah--I finally got to sleep last night at 10 pm. I feel asleep almost instantly. This wacky sleep stuff doesn't happen that often any more because I usually have nothing to get anxious about. Part of the problem was that I was so excited about a project I am about to undertake that I wanted to work on it even though I knew I should be in bed. But, hopefully, getting up this morning at nine will set my schedule right again. I can't read before bed because I will stay up all night (if the book is good).

It's a brand new day.
