Ok
getting myself psyced up to start SB on Jan2...yes going to get through
all the xmas crap first....no sense in setting myself up to fail before I start
Hubby is doing it as well and he has never done any sort of eating plan before so didnt want to kill him on the first week!

We have been on a blissfull eating binge since we met almost two years ago and both have kept with us about 50 extra pound over that time (and we weren't small to begin with!)

Here are some of the things I hope to accomplish:
*I want to be able to paint my own toenails
*I need my blood pressure to go down
*I want to be able to run up a set of stairs
*I want to shop in a "normal" store
*I want to have more energy
*I want to sit cross legged in my chair
*I want to have collar bones (most sexy part of a woman)
*I want to fit in a booth
*I want to dock jump neekid next summer
*I want to lower my cholesterol
*I want to feel hipbones (I know they are in there!!!)
*I want to learn to bellydance
*I want to be proud of the way I look
*I want to learn how to cook all those recipies
(still unconvinced mashed cauliflour can be disguised as potatos...but will try anything once!!)

guess that is enough wants for now.....
maybe writing all of this stuff down as I go will as well as reading the other posts on the board will keep me motivated and able to recognize the triggers that set my eating off! Failing is not an option at this point

well crusin along on day 3...
so far it hasnt been to bad
scale says 4lbs but i KNOW that
is just water - i have been doing
the bootcamp so have to drink
120oz a day
so far with all the cooking i have
gone thru 8 big bunches of garlic
and almost a big bag of lemons
the garlic lemon roasted veggies are
to die for!
i am not a huge fan of vegetables obviously
so this is a good thing!
i have to stay on top of my planning...i know
that is the key for me
i got so sick of all the junk before this that i
dont even want any of it anymore
just walked past a bag of chips and didnt
even think twice

day 4

felt super good this morning and not too bad this afternoon
just found out i have to go on a business trip mid jan for a
week

both me and C are worried about what i am going to eat there
and what he will eat here (he doesnt cook)
so think i will spend the weekend before making meals for him
for supper and portion them out and i will make our lunches and
somehow take mine with me so we both stay on track

hotel i am staying with has a gym so i can use that or swim
starting to feel better about going away now that i have a plan
was thinking about canceling because i thought it would be
hard to go away and stay on the WOE
too easy to go back to bad habits "just for a week"
but figured that if it is going to be a lifestyle it's going to be a
lifestyle and i just have to get my sh*t together and
make it work :)

well you can hardly blame yourself for skipping the gym - especially if you arent feeling good - and then looking at your weekend you wont need the gym!!

Hi Diva Dee! Just thought I'd stop by since you were kind enough to visit me. :D
Congrats on the planning ahead for your trip! That was where I had trouble in the past, too, but it was all due to NOT planning ahead. That's when I would fall off the wagon and surrender to the "what the hell" effect.

It's great that there's a gym where you're staying. I always feel so good when I get exercise in while I'm out of town.

Good luck, and good job! I'm rooting for you!

Hi DivaDee -

I saw your post about the business trip and as zillionth pointed out, you are way ahead of the game because you have a plan. Planning has been the key to my success this week and will have to continue to be in order for me to make this work.

You mentioned (on my journal) that you are a former WW dropout. Don't you find SBD to be so much easier than WW? I mean, I know there is more freedom over there as far as food choices but I found myself always trying to calculate points and having to write really, really teeny tiny in those little food journals they gave us that I would pitch 'em after a few weeks. But they do have a really balanced approach which is why DH and I nearly went back until we dug up some info on SBD. Hooray for SBD!

- Kelsey

P.S. I have to tell you I really like your avatar with the sparkly eyeshadow :)

hey Kelsey
thankx for stopping in!
yes this is sooo much easier than ww!!

it feels wierd not measuring or counting but i am sure
we will do well as beginners because we KNOW the size
of our fist is a portion :)
i hated the food journal and would end up counting in my
head...then figuring out how to starve myself for something
bad and just count the points
yes i do have to say this is going to be an easier woe!

(thanx re: sparkly eyeshadow - thought it was kinda cool )

Hey, Diva Dee!

Just popping in to say hello and try to get some more of your secrets. 10 lbs. down: that's fantastic!!! :D :D :D
I think you are right on track with planning ahead. I will definitely take a lesson from you, there. I am already thinking ahead to our trip to England and wondering how I'll fare. We are staying with a friend's family, so I don't know how in control of meals I'll be. But my plan is to eat less of what is served, and balance out un-SB meals with healthier ones. That's what I love about SB - it's so flexible that I really feel like it's workable for the long term.

I tried WW too, but only for a couple weeks. I used to save up my points so I could go to McDonald's for dinner, or eat a Blizzard, or something equally unhealthy. Not the healthiest plan for me. I went too crazy with the knowledge that I really could eat ANYTHING.

Anyway, thanks for visiting me, and keep up the good work! I'll be checking in again soon. :)

yup thats about the way it went for me too zill
figured out all the angles...

so my weekend went good - C had a really hard time on sat
he stayed in bed most of the day - if he hadnt i am sure he
would have been at the nearest restaraunt eating lasanga
havent missed that stuff yet...not sure why because it terrified
me to start this because i thought i would miss it all

i sure wish C would have weighed himself before we started this
because then the progress would be his motivation he just figures
he will see it in his clothes
i can see a little difference in both of us and he noticed some on me
last nite so there is motivation :)

well i borrowed a yoga dvd last nite to give it a try..
you know...realx...stretch...etc
well i got about 2 min in and it licked b@lls!! (not in a good way!!)
horrible and flaky - coulda been the person doing the video
anyhooo
quickly determined that yoga is NOT for me
so decided to crank the music and get on the treadmill
(much more my style)
dummy me went barefoot cuz my runners were bugging me yesterday
now i have huge blisters on the balls of my feet
(i am pretty not smart)
other than all that day was ok - still on track didnt have supper till
real late but also put on some chili for tonite - C is looking forward to
that (until he realizes the chili doesnt come with fresh buns and butter)
maybe i should go get some work done....
