Hi SP. You are on fire. And it seems like you are in a zone far beyond that of wedding dress angst. Great motivation for me to read about your dedication. Keep it up, you are going to be a smokin hot bride :D

Thanks RG. Yes, yes I am

Today was 142.2 (I know, I know but I'm an obsessive weigher. I just like to see trends what can I say)

Yes, my motivation has gone beyond wedding dress angst. I like the running and I like seeing the weight go down. My weight loss has been really sporadic even though I do all the right things. (well for most of the time at least ;) )
My mom is coming to visit for 2 weeks so it may be a little tough to get my hour long runs in. I will definitely try though. Either we will go to the park together or I'll try to slip out to the gym while she is getting over jet lag. Morning is not much of an option since she gets up waaay before me anyway!!!

Hey, long time no talk! GO YOU! There's nothing like a wedding dress to get a girl motivated! Hmm, maybe I need to get married again. ;)

....NO, no , no...don't do it!!!! :)

skinnypeep...man, i finally took the time to come back and read your journal and i have been missing out. you are doing great. and i hope we get to see some wedding pics. i like what you said about not being a runner and now you are. i have always had that as a secret wish. i will have to try that couch to runner thing you talk about. not that i am on the couch, but i find actual running to be so hard for me. so i am going to make it a point to try it out. it would be nice to be able to add another option to my workouts. you are a great inspiration. i am encouraged to see your weight going down, when in my opinion, you are already at a pretty good weight. because many times it seems the smaller someone is, the slower the weight comes off. you know, the whole, the closer you are to your goal thing.....i set my goal for 140, so if i was you, i would almost be there :).

Awwwww thanks KT.

I told DBF that someone is inspired by me and the stinker actually said "They clearly don't know you very well". grrrrrr. And this is what I choose to marry. Sigh.
I told him well I guess i don't need to lose weight any more since the wedding is off

I am at a pretty good weight now. I just feel a bit "fluffier" than I want to be I guess. It's more about definition for me.

But you know KT if you feel running is really hard for you it may be that you go faster than you really should. That is something I learned during C25K. I still go pretty slow. But better that than quitting. And I'll tell you a secret... I take walk breaks. shhhhhh  I figure if it gets me there it's all good!

Hey, as long as you get there, right??

I wonder if C25K will work on a treadmill ... I can't deal with running outside right now. It's way too cold! I'm such a weather wimp.

Yup- I did all of C25K on a treadmill. I found i could regulate time and speed much better than outdoors. Also easier than carrying a stopwatch.
It really helped me slow down which is very important so you don't overdo it and end up thinking "I am just not a runner". Trust me if I can run you can run.
To give you an idea I stared off at a pace of 4.5 on the treadmill. Yeah. People walk faster than that. Now 6 months later I start off at 5.2 then work up to 5.6 for a comfortable run then crank it to 6- 6.4 just for fun later in the run. And I do recovery walks for a bit till I feel like running again. I run 4 or 5 times a week, for 4 or 5 miles. And I love it!!! :D

Another good recipe:

Balsamic Chicken with Mushrooms

POINTS® value | 3
Servings | 4
Preparation Time | 10 min
Cooking Time | 10 min
Level of Difficulty | Easy

For a different flair, substitute dry white wine for the chicken broth, then sprinkle on a few spoonfuls of chopped sun-dried tomatoes with the mushrooms.

Ingredients

2 tsp vegetable oil
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 large garlic clove(s), crushed
1 pound uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast(s), four 4-oz pieces
2 cup mushroom(s), small, halved
1/3 cup canned chicken broth
1/4 tsp dried thyme, crumbled

Instructions

In a nonstick skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of oil.

In a medium bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar, the mustard and garlic. Add chicken and turn to coat.

Transfer chicken and marinade to skillet. Sauté chicken until cooked through, about 3 minutes on each side. Transfer chicken to a platter and keep warm.

Heat remaining teaspoon of oil in skillet. Sauté mushrooms for 1 minute. Add broth, thyme and remaining tablespoon of vinegar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are deep brown, about 2 minutes longer.

Serve chicken topped with mushrooms

Shan- I do about 3 mins each side. do the mushrooms and broth and then put the chicken back in for maybe 2 mins on low. Hope that helps I am cooking challenged so don't know if you really want to follow my lead on this. You may starve!!

Thanks Tits! Hey I waited 8 years- sooner or later yours will wake up and ask too
