Thanks Leigha! I actually lost some of that over the past year or so. I am only on week 2 of phase one right now. I have done this before though. I'm not sure why I stopped previously. I think if I had a bad day I just felt like everything was wasted. The mindset I need to make sure I keep now is to keep coming back here and making myself accountable, regardless of how I have done that day. So far so good this time around though.

Looks like we have a similar profile. I am 5'11" and it looks like our starting and goal weights are similar.

Yeah- I noticed that too!!
I'm starting phase 1 tomorrow- VERY excited (which is NOT an adjective I usually associate with a 'diet')
I'll be rooting for you too!
Have a great week!

Good Luck! I know you didn't ask for my advice..but here goes anyway;

The single biggest piece of advice I can give you is to be prepared! Pack your meals AND snacks the night before if you are not at home during the day. It makes it soooo much easier.

I find now that I am not even hungry between meals, but I still have my snacks so that I don't ever let myself get really really hungry.

I also chose to lay off the gym for phase 1 so I can concentrate on changing my eating habbits. I knew that would be hard enough. I'm glad I did because I am looking forward to going back now because I feel great. Plus I won't feel so badly about adding a few grains into my diet. That is a personal decision, though, that I don't imagine a lot of people would agree with. It worked for me though.

Anyway, best of luck. Don't hesitate to reach out if you are having a hard time!

Well - I promised myself that I would keep this updated...so here goes, even if it is brief.

Things are going well. 8lbs from mini goal number one. From there, things feel so much more manageable for some reason. Long way to go, but definately steps in the right direction. I also feel very good these days, enough of a reason to keep up this WOE.

I am not really excited, nor concerned, about moving to P2. I plan to add a very small amount of grains each day for the first week..maybe a WW english muffin in the am. I want to see how my body reacts to this before I add fruit. I am not craving anything specific, so I guess P1 is doing exactly what it is intended to.

More later..........

ugh...terrible day. D on my son's report card. Work was a wreck. Will be working long into the night with no end in sight.

Stayed on plan, but probably did not eat enough. Too late to eat now and I am so annoyed that I can't eat anyhow.

Stress stress stress stress.....there I feel a little better. More later

Today was another positive day. Stayed completely on plan. I am learning to slooowwwlllyyy incorportate items into P2. Today and yesterday it was an apple and the day before was 1/2 ww english muffin. So far so good. No cravings. I also find that I am now getting in the habit of eating when I am hungry instead of eating just because I enjoy it. Now I don't even think about food unless my body tells me it is time. I used to eat anytime, anyplace. Such a great feeling. Thirsday is week 3 on plan. Hopefully will have lost another lb or so by then.

All for now.....

Breakfast - Cheese Stick and Apple
Snack - 15 almonds
Lunch - Grilled Chicken Salad
Snack - SF Jello
Dinner - Veggies (a lot) and a chicken breast
Dessert - NSA Fudge Pop and about 2Tbs of FF cool whip

You're doing so well!!
You seem to take everything so calmly. You've been SB-ing for 3 weeks now? Tomorrow's day 10 for me on phase 1. I haven't ventured near a scale (in fact, truth be told I think I'm too petrified to- imagine I've PUT ON! I don't feel like I've lost anything at all and I think I've been following pretty well so far) I don't want my flying hopes to be crushed...

Have a groovy Thursday!!

Thanks Leigha - Yesterday was Thanksgiving, so I cheated quite a bit. I will be staying off the scale for a few days

So I believe today is the final day of P1 for you? When do you plan to weigh? I understand the anxiety. I tend to go overboard and weigh daily, which is the wrong way to do it. What can I say? I am a slave to the scale.

As of Wednesday am I was at 235 and feeling pretty good about it...however, I am sure yesterday's splurge will set me back a bit. Anyway, at least I am able to get back on plan today. This has always been my challenge in the past.

Let me know how your weigh in goes Leigha. And remember, regardless of what the scale says, you have already made great strides in the good choices you have been making and your willpower!

Oh, yes, happy Thanksgiving!!! (we don't celebrate it, so I don't remember what date it is). Don't worry about cheating- just carry on like it never existed!! Tomorrow's weigh-day for me!! (Day 12) I'll let you know how it goes.

Leigha, Yes! A great step in the right direction. Good job. Are you feeling your clothes feeling looser yet?

Scale has been up a couple of lbs lately. Not sure if that is due to the cheating on Thanksgiving, water weight, the extra workouts....who knows. Ultimately, I know the clothing is looser, so that will hold me over for a while. But I sure would love to see that scale go down!!

Leigha - Yes they are! However, mine was kind to me this morning. I am down to 233 (woohoo...3lbs from mini goal 1). Probably a bit of a fluke. I imagine I will be back up a lb or so tomorrow, but boy, what a nice surprise!

Today was a bit of a battle in terms of cravings though. No idea why since I have been very good. I think it is all the people snacking around me at work all day. I know me though.....one bite and it's all downhill from there. I still need to work on that.

More later.
