If the guy was shooting my dog with a pellet gun, I might bite him, too. People can be so stupid.

So, last night, we're sitting in my inlaws gazebo eating dinner, and we hear a gunshot (they live in the country). DH says "oh, that sounded like a 12-guage" then he and FIL were commenting that it was *dove season*. So I had to be stupid and ask: "They're using a 12 guage SHOTGUN to hunt doves?" They're looking at me like I've lost my marbles. So then I ask "Is there anything left of the poor thing?" And what, exactly, is the point of hunting doves? I mean, FIL said the only thing worthwhile eating from a dove is the breast. Isnt' that like, 2 chicken nuggets? The bullets cost more than that. I understand hunting elk/deer, but I definately didn't get the dove thing. Whatever....

Then, at 2 a.m., the fire alarms went off at the Charter school right behind us--no fire, just REALLY, REALLY loud alarms. And then of course, the firetrucks came flying in, sirens blaring & lights flashing. I was thinking to myself, isn't it a little early for a fire drill, I mean, there aren't even any kids here this time of the a.m. I'm so exhausted....

Okay, I'm pretty convinced that my tummy troubles are being caused by artificial sweeteners. More splenda than anything else. I didn't have any artificial sweeteners yesterday and no tummy trouble. I just had one packet of sweet n low on my Uncle Sam's, so we'll see what happens.

B: Uncle Sam's w/ strawberries, ff milk & 1 packet sweet n low
S: a few carrots
L: Huge salad w/ baby greens, orange pepper, tomato, cucumber & turkey; olive oil; water
S: either a pear or an apple
D: Haven't decided on meat, but steamed cauliflower, crispy zuchinni coins, large salad
S: Probably a piece of fruit

Hope everyone's having a wonderful day!

I don't get the whole hunting thing anyway... unless they're going to be eating what they kill. Of course, I came from a family that went target shooting every year, not hunting. The only thing we shot in the woods was our camera.

Oh, I just love fall in Colorado. I woke up this a.m. and the view from our bedroom balcony faces west and the mountains were SOOOO beautiful. Made me want to play hookey from work today and go for a drive. No can do, though....

Well, made a date with my mom for Saturday to take off & go shopping. We want to do some birthday shopping for DD. We don't do this real often, so when we go, we really enjoy ourselves. I've been blessed with wonderful parents & my mom is also my friend.

B: leftover crispy zuchinni coins from last night; kashi gl w/ ff milk & strawberries
S: Pear
L: large salad w/ all the goodies; steamed cauliflower w/ a little cheese; water
S: Apple w/ pb
D: Not sure yet; DH bowls tonight, so it's just DD & me...maybe I'll steam some artichokes and ???

Thank goodness it's Friday!

Had coffee with DH (Starbuck's) this a.m. before heading off to work. We usually do that on Saturday a.m, but since I'm heading shopping with mom tomorrow, we decided to do it today.

It'll be a busy weekend. Shopping with mom tomorrow, then Sunday, we will be having a picnic to use up all the food that we had ordered for our bbq over at in-laws about 3 weeks ago. We'll be heading to the public park at the Adams County Fairgrounds. There'll be a playground for the kids, covered shelters w/ tables & such for eating & plenty of room to set up the badmitten set. Should be an enjoyable day.

B: Coffee; Kashi GL w/ ff milk; strawberries
S: probably skip
L: Wendy's chili & salad
S: pear or apple
D: ????? I really need to start planning this better. :?
S: ???

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Now our Savior Jesus Christ is the vine and we are the
branches, so you may ask what is this fruit? The answer
is found in the Book of Galatians, for it is written; THE FRUIT
OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE,
KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS
AND SELF CONTROL. AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS
NO LAW. (GALATIANS 5:22-23 )

I subscribe to God's Minute online and receive a daily devotional. This was from today's email. Interesting, because this was my DD's memory verse last week for school....she really struggled to remember the words in order, but with lots of practice she had it and got 100% on her memory verse on Friday.

Had a wonderful weekend. Shopping with mom on Saturday. Drank lots of water & didn't do as poorly as I could have at lunch. Went to Olive Garden & had salad and the Chicken Castellina - chicken, mushrooms & artichokes in a smoked cheese/tomato cream sauce. "Whole wheat" linguine (who knows if this was really whole wheat?) Skipped dessert & the bread sticks. Had a wonderful time visiting with mom. Went to Cost Plus World market & picked up a "Turtle" flavored coffee - choc. & caramel. and the Davinci SF white chocolate (had used up my previous bottle) - it's a beautifully dreary fall morning here in Colorado-- I do love an occassional overcast, foggy, drizzly cool morning. So hot coffee will soon be becoming the order of the day!

Also went to the Wild Oats Market (a local health food market) and picked up some bulk whole wheat & whole wheat pastry flour. Mom has a great french bread recipe & I think I'm going to try making some with the pastry flour. Yum. I've also been wanting to try to make a whole wheat kraut burger. Also got a buttermilk whole wheat pancake/waffle mix and a couple different whole wheat couscous--haven't tried that yet, so it will be something new. Also found a whole wheat graham cracker.

Had a picnic yesterday & kept it pretty beachy, except for the 1/2 of a oatmeal raisin cookie (my absolute favorite). It was a beautiful day & truly enjoyed everyone's company.

I've got to get online today & register for the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure on Oct. 2. We usually do the 1 mile family walk. I don't think MIL will be able to do much more than that. Last year she did the 5K walk, but she just doesn't have the energy for that right now. I'll be making up pictures of her "In Celebration of...." and her mother "In Memory of..." to wear on our shirts.

B: WW tortilla breakfast burrito w/ eggs, green chilis & onion, a little lf cheese
S: Maybe a yogurt
L: Salad w/ a little turkey, cukes, tomatoes, etc.
S: Pear
D: Chili & salad

Hope everyone had a great weekend & is having a beachy Monday!

Oh, your shirts sound wonderful. What a great idea. Good luck with the race/walk.

I probably would've caved with the cookie, too... those are my absolute faves... (as long as they don't have nuts in them).

Is it really only Tuesday? For whatever reasons, I'm wanting it to be like Thursday or Friday already. :?

Had my piano lesson this a.m. I'm feeling a little more comfortable with keeping my counts, so I'm really starting to enjoy myself. I really need to get over to the pawn shop, though, and see about getting a keyboard for home. Working until 5 p.m. then over to in-laws for practice, then trying to get dinner on the table before 8 p.m. is really getting old  If I had a keyboard at home, I could practice while dinner is cooking. I love going to in-laws, but it really hacks out a huge chunk of time...

DH & DD have Adventurers tonight, so I'm planning on getting some housework & laundry done while they're gone- Yes, laundry...you know, actually washing clothes. (just in case LyndaB is reading 8) ) I put chili in the crockpot this a.m. before I left for work, so at least dinner will be 90% completed--just need to throw a salad together & shred a little cheese for the chili.

Got everyone registered online yesterday for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure on Oct 2. Now I just need to start rummaging through boxes to find our one & only picture - long story - of DH's grandmother for our shirts ("in memory of....") We really enjoy doing this walk and have done it for the last 8 years, since MIL was first diagnosed. The first year, she was still having her chemo treatments....She's something...

B: Kashi GL w/ ff milk; coffee w/ ff milk & sf caramel syrup
S: leftover acorn squash (about 1/2 C)
L: leftover oven baked almond chicken; salad w/ all the goodies
S: apple w/ pb
D: Chili & salad (maybe a ww tortilla--we'll see)
D: probably a piece of fruit
