My journey. again.

Postby Hunnybear » Mon Jun 18, 2012 4:25 pm

Well I'm back again. As usual I hope this is the last time and that I can see it through to completion. Which means get down to a healthy weight and STAY there. Who am I kidding I have never been a healthy weight. This time is different. We (dh&I) moved into my mom's house last month, We are loosing our house (like over 50% of the population), and I left my job (since it wouldn't cover the bills).
I am glad for the choices we made/making. I am able to see my grandma more, and spend more time with my sister, and help my mom's with her house. It has been and is a struggle to not eat away my stress. Dh and I joined a gym a few weeks ago, and have been a few times, which will be more frequent. I think that with Dh and moms support that I have a good support system. Unfortunetly, with my gramma we never know just when we are going to go see her (she lives about 45-1hr away) so planning will be important, and keeping snacks at her house.

B: eggs, milk, sausage
L: planned lettuce wraps
d: planned taco salads

So sorry to hear about your house! But it seems like the same thing is happening to so many people. My college graduate son moved back home just as we were discussing renting out part of our house for extra income. He's helped out a bit by paying "rent" but is now out of work again. It's time for families to buckle down and help each other, plant gardens, and whatever is necessary to survive.

I'm with you on the stress eating. I've been struggling myself, but am starting a few days of Phase 1 again to get myself back on track! It's challenging living with non-SB family members, isn't it?

DId pretty well yesterday. Went to the gym did 20 min walk on treadmill, and did some weights.
Lost 2.5 lbs!!!!!

Today went to took my grandma to her Dr appt. was really stressed before and after. She is old (102) and doesn't remember anything. She has a lot of complaints but doesn't tell the dr, then she gets mad because he doesn't do anything. It's like DUH you have to tell him whats wrong....

Did good today with eating, did have wheat toast. but that was better then what i really wanted... a drink

B: crustless mexican quiche, from phase 1 low-carb better home and garden cookbook
L: denny's chicken deluxe salad w/ grilled chicken, blue cheese dressing. Did have whole wheat toast.
D: southwest chicken skillit, chicken jicama onion and tomato

I really would like to loose 60lb before the end of the year but would be happy with 50.
195 days till the end of the year = 27 weeks till the end of the year.
If my math is correct that is about 2-3lbs per week
I CAN DO IT.

You're doing great! Having a gym membership is wonderful, hoping I can do one again soon, maybe in the fall. Right now it's nice enough to walk outside so I'm trying to make that a habit.

Do you eat snacks at all? You haven't written them down, but you should be eating something every 2-3 hours. I usually have almonds for one of my snacks and have been trying to do veggies and dip for another. This afternoon I was starving and found some hummus and veggie sticks I had made a few days ago. I like to make extra and have it handy so I don't go digging into the crackers.

Fingers crossed for your job xxxxx xxxxx !! I've been looking for work for months and it's very very challenging in my area. Not much out there. But I had an interview this week, too, hoping it comes through. A couple of other resumes out there, too. My son is home from college for the summer and finally got an interview set up for Monday at a small discount store that he can walk to. Holding my breath a lot lately, not sleeping much. We're caught in that middle income squeeze - too much income for much financial aid, too little to actually pay it without going further into debt.

Too bad you didn't like the quiche cups. There are lots of recipes for them on the recipe board. I usually just make a regular quiche using low fat everything and no crust, just spray the casserole well. The beauty of the muffin cup ones is that you can really just chop leftover veggies into them and have a little variety. I usually make mine with either asparagus or broccoli. You might also look at the frittata recipes - those are just really thick omelets that you bake and cut into wedges.

WOW this week have gone by very fast.
Sunday we went to red robin's for lunch, had chicken salad had a bite of the bread it comes with and it didn't taste good. Taking my neice home after RR, i got sick and was sick most of sunday.
Monday my Dh started to get sick.
tuesday he was really sick, but my mom, niece went to meet my sister and we went bowling.. forgot how much exercise bowling is.... but it was a lot of fun. bowled 2 games and my shoulder and back were really hurting. went to lunch with gramma and had a chef salad.
wednesday, worked in the yard a bit.
thursday, DH had an appointment, nephew (22yo) came to dinner steak and salad...
friday was fun.... DH and I took my niece (10yrs old) to ballard locks, went to lunch at a mexican place (niece and I split a quesadilla and we split fried ice cream, I didn't have a lot just a couple bites) They had this really good salsa.. chipotle, garlic, pineapple... YUMM. From there we went to see the fremont troll. We had a lot of fun and did a lot of walking.
Saturday, worked around the house. had spaghetti squash with pasta sauce and ground turkey

Don't really remember the other days of food... nothing really stood out. Did find Jennie-o turkey dogs and they are good.

Weight this am was 255.5 Haven't really been out of my mind craving anything.. I just have a bite if i want something and that is good enough just to taste it.
