Postby Giddypop » Mon Apr 16, 2012 6:41 pm

How does my first day's diet look.
Spinach Frittata with Broccoli for breakfast with Morrocan tea.
Celery stuffed with laughing cow cheese for snack
Tuna salad with low fat dressing and 5 olives for lunch
5 x pistacho nutsplus another celery with cheese stick
Haddock fillet with cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage for tea.
Plenty of water and spiced tea.
I haven't had a sweet as I didn't have any ricotta.
Plus where dies the dairy come in?

Any comments /help welcome-I'm a learner.

Do you like tea lattes? I like chai ones with skim milk and also just strong builder (yorkshire gold) tea lattes. I microwave the milk separately and froth it up and add it 50/50 to very strong tea. I used to have a big aversion to milk, so making lattes sort of eased me into it. I get low on energy in P1 around the third day, so this time I made myself drink a few swallows at a time throughout the day to keep my dairy in. I think it helped keep my blood sugar stable. :D
Your food looks good to me, try to get in some more veggies (until you pop!) beans or chickpeas :D

Hi! Welcome to the Beach!

Food looks prety good to me. Here's a few board pointers:

1. Journals are meant to be a one-thread type deal. Basically you create a thread (your journal) and then you keep posting in that same thread rather than making a new one each day. So you are "replying" to your own posts and others are adding in. This way it cuts down on the amount of threads and also keeps all of your "personal" postings all together so that you can look back and see the trends or whatever.

2. While there is no right or wrong way to do it, a standard way to post meals (especially in other areas of the boards) is:
B: breakfast
S: snack
L: lunch
S: snack
D: dinner/supper
S: bedtime snack/dessert
This format is easy for everyone to follow when helping out by making suggestions, etc. Many people (me included) post our daily menus just for our own information/to keep accountable and keep it pretty short and simple. But if you want or are requesting advice on your menu, it's important to clarify all serving sizes and adds such as EVOO, dressing, etc.

As for dairy....add it wherever! Dairy is considered yogurt and/or milk. I love to have yogurt as one of my snacks or as my nighttime "dessert" A little plain yogurt w/ splenda/vanilla is great! Greek yogurt can also be used as a veggie dip, added into mashed cauliflower bakes, or added to chili in place of sour cream. You can add milk as an additional drink with a meal or snack, anywhere really.
