Re: Quirquie's Quarter

Postby Quirquie » Thu Jul 14, 2011 2:13 pm

I managed to fall asleep around 10:30 last night. I slept all the way until about 5 when my fiance kneed me in the butt really hard and jarred my bladder forcing me to get up to relieve it! I got back to sleep and slept until 6 when my alarm went off. Turned it off and went back to sleep until 7.

My emotions are totally out of control so I have started taking my niacin again 1g so far. Since I have been on the beach, it seemed I did not need the mega doses of niacin and slowly lessened the amount I was taking until I felt I didn't need it anymore, until now. My mother has Schizophrenia and I get severely depressed to where I will lock myself in a dark room and sit in a corner alone for hours.

The latest news report states:
Police believe the driver of the van may have been drinking because alcohol could be smelled on his breath. Results from a blood test taken shortly after the crash have not yet been completed.
so my anger over the driver saying he didn't see Don, a big guy on a full size HD all lit up, has turned into rage.

I do have good news to report so lets get to that. My fiance was giving me a back rub 2 nights ago and I could feel his fingers against my ribs! So I asked if I had lost a lot of fat on my back and he said I had! A few years ago I started to get these really dry almost scaly patches of skin on the outside of both of my ankles. I tried everything to soften that skin and get it normal again and nothing worked. Last night I realized that dry skin is almost completely normal! The redness is completely gone and the skin is just slightly dry now, but normal thickness. I can see all my ankles again! I do have 4 of them 1 on each side of each leg! My engagement ring, that we just got in June, is about ready to fall off my finger and it fit tightly when we got it! I also weighed in this morning at under my first goal weight, that is the second time I have hit that mark, the first was the morning after the Chicago trip when I am sure I was dehydrated even tho I had drank nearly 100oz of water that day. My face, almost all the fat is gone and instead of having 3 chins I barely even have a second one! My arms look almost normal except for that flap of jiggly flab underneath. And the best part, my belly no longer sticks out farther than my breasts!

I think typing all that out and then reading it has done wonders for my mental health.

Haven't been reading much here lately and just checked in and read about your friend. So sorry - it's very hard to lose someone so suddenly. It sounds like there will probably be a positive blood alcohol test unless the guy just had one beer and it was still on his breath.

It sounds like you're doing really well with your food. Having all those fresh veggies really helps. I picked up my CSA share yesterday and came home pretty gleeful!!

This is the only thing I got going for me to make it all bearable.

I spent too much time yesterday playing WoW and made us late to see the botanical exhibit at the festival so we didn't go, the flowers was all we wanted to see there! Dinner was at 4 so skipped before dinner snacks. We had some time before the game so decided to look around the B&N near the deli. As we passed the bargain priced books, I saw a section of cookbooks and one called to me, Organic Kitchen making the most of fresh and seasonal produce. This book has really helped me to understand the reasons why organic food is so mush tastier and healthier than other foods are. I am only on page 46 so far, but it only has 69 pages of reading before you get to the recipes. I was on page 9 before we even paid for it! Then we went to the game. It was so hot and humid that we left the game before there was even a score! When we got home I continued reading the other 36 pages before I realized I was starving and it had been 5 hours since dinner!

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: spinach, splash milk, sprinkle cheese omelet
Snack: buckwheat pancake, smart balance, sf syrup
Lunch: cocktail shrimp /w smart balance & garlic; salad, tomato, carrot, pea shoot /w ranch
Snack: none
Early Dinner: McAlister’s Deli: Club Wrap /w Caesar Salad (no croutons) & pickle
Dessert: grilled chicken ranch salad
Exercise: walked 1 mile (3 laps around ball field)

I did not eat enough yesterday, the menu:
Breakfast: spinach, milk, cheese omelet
Snack: 1 string cheese stick
Lunch: CSA salad, celery, pea shoots, fresh herbs, tomato, ranch
Snack: none
Dinner: cod baked in smart balance, garlic, lemon verbena, lovage; herbed wg wild and brown rice; green beans sautéed in evoo, garlic, fresh herbs
Dessert: banana
Exercise: none

I went shopping yesterday and got 2 pairs of jeans and 3 new shirts, they are all black so that I would have something to wear today. I wanted to get a new bra too, as mine is way too big now, but they didn't have my new size in a wireless version, and the Hanes stretch to fit bra didn't stretch to fit me! The jeans I got in sizes 10 short and 8 short, the 10 fits comfy and the 8 is tight. The shirts I got 3 sizes, 1 XL, 1 med and 1 sm. The XL (which seems much smaller than an XL should be) and med fits good and the sm I expect to fit well by my Vegas trip, it fits now, but is snug especially around the breasts.

Thank you grace2.

I fell asleep right after dinner and have now been awake about an hour, it is very hot in my house outside of the bedroom, but at least it doesn't feel like a sauna now! I will be having my dessert before I start on my housework, I just have to make oats first.

Today's menu:
Breakfast: spinach, milk, cheese omelet; buckwheat pancake, smart balance, sf syrup
Snack: blueberries & walnuts /w lf plain greek yogurt /w vanilla & sweetener
Lunch: cod baked in smart balance, garlic, lemon verbena, lovage; carrots and celery /w ranch
Snack: 1 string cheese, apple, pb hummus
Dinner: Pizza Hut delivery: spaghetti & meatballs & chicken milano (I should have got the chicken ceasar salad)
Dessert: oats /w mashed banana & glass of milk

Not enough veggies yet today, but I am going to be up for hours more and will get hungry, so will be eating things like baby carrots and celery until breakfast time.

It is almost 8 am here, the sun is barely up and completely covered and yet the temperature is already nearing 80! Thursday is suppose to be the hottest (with a feels like temp of over 110) so this is only going to get worse, but hopefully the weather will do what the weather guy says it will and cool off by the end of weekend. I did eat nearly 2 cups of celery with a wedge of LCLC and managed to do a mile in 6 mins on my exercise bike, that was all I could handle in this humidity.

As soon as I grab the rest of my breakfast I will be heading back to the bedroom to stay cool.

Today's menu:
Breakfast: spinach, milk, cheese omelet; buckwheat pancake, smart balance, sf syrup
Snack: blueberries, milk, walnuts
Lunch: asleep
Snack: 1 string cheese, celery
Dinner: Pizza Hut delivery: chicken caesar salad, broccoli & cheese soup
Dessert: apple, pb hummus

I am going to be eating my mashed bananas and oats with milk then getting a load of dishes started in the washer. I am then going grocery shopping and when I get home I will be having the lunch I slept thru, cod baked in smart balance, garlic, lemon verbena, lovage; wg wild and brown rice; salad /w ranch. I would have it now, but my dressing and buttermilk soured in this heat, so I need to get more buttermilk to make dressing. I will also be getting a bag of those frozen chicken breasts and will cook up 2 when I get home and tomorrow's dinner will be homemade salad. I just need to be sure to have everything cooked for tomorrow before sunrise!

It's hot here, too! whew! Good idea to get the cooking done early in the morning. The other day I baked up two dishes full of chicken breasts. Now we can eat them without making the house hot...

My big glass baking dish wasn't clean so I only cooked enough for the 1 day, so today I cooked up the big pan worth of chicken tenders, I could be set for the entire weekend now!

Today, my fiance comes home saying he is sick of chicken and then orders chicken from Papa John's, apparently it is only my chicken he is sick of....

Yesterdays menu:
Breakfast: spinach, milk, cheese omelet; buckwheat pancake, smart balance, sf syrup
Snack: 1 string cheese, apple, pb hummus
Lunch: salad, chicken, carrot, pea shoots, tomato, ranch
Snack: blueberries, milk, walnuts
Dinner: asleep
Dessert: : oats /w mashed banana & glass of milk
I missed a meal yesterday sleeping, had planned to have it at night, but every time I got up it was sweltering so just kept going back to sleep!

Today's menu:
Breakfast: buckwheat pancake, smart balance, sf syrup & celery /w ranch
Snack: 1 string cheese stick & glass of milk
Lunch: oats /w mashed banana & milk
Snack: apple, pb hummus
Dinner: salad, chicken, carrot, pea shoots, celery, tomato, ranch
later tonight
Dessert: blueberries, walnuts & glass of milk
