Ok: just minor changes and edits to make - wonderful! Let's talk food!

So on the road, some of the food wasn't SB: too much bread at Subway... Now back to more veggies - hooray :D First thing after getting home, I cooked up and ate green beans; couldn't get enough of them.

yesterday:
B: turkey sausage, green beans, egg w/ cheese
S: banana
L: salad w/ egg, ranch; also turkey, green beans, carrots, lf soy milk
S: vanilla yogurt (no-no) w/ raspberries
D: turkey, teeny bit of golden potato (no-no), veggies and more veggies, ff milk
S: almonds, chocolate, more ff milk (too much choc - I had been doing really well since my defense and hadn't been eating it)
Topped off w/ a pepto!

So, let's see about better choices for today!

Go, Canucks! Since it's not the Flyers or the RedWings, I guess Vancouver will have to do... Used to live in Seattle, so BC was close by.

One step forward, one or two steps back with my food. I have been messed up part of the time and healthy the rest of the time - phooey!!! Last night I ate part of a brownie with some Gk yogurt mixed w/ vanilla yogurt. Tried to get past it with ff milk. Kind of reminds me of years back when a friend and I would run 3 miles at lunch, then go for the food. She would get a salad and a hotdog :)
I went days with no chocolate, only to fall prey...

today:
B: egg, turkey sausage, refried beans, veggies, lf soy milk mixed w/ ff milk
L: chili w/ cheese, carrots
S: Gk yogurt w/ raspberries, then almonds and 72% cocoa chocolate (2 pieces). then threw in some semi-sweet choc chips and ate more almonds. Enough already! Eat a salad!
D: chicken, green beans, salad

thanks Amalfi! So, I've been getting exercise (3X so far this week), applying for positions, and trying to finish the edits :)

B: egg, sausage, green beans, refried beans
L: chili w/ cheese, carrots
S: 1/2 apple, cottage cheese, PB
D: fish, 2 pieces of potato, green beans, huge salad w/ ranch, ff milk
S: yogurt w/ raspberries, choc chips, ff milk
S: 1 slice pumpernickel bread w/ smart balance, nsa spreadable fruit

I love veggies and chili - need to go grocery shopping...

Hi Lauren

Looked through your journal, I am impressed, losing wt while defending your dissertation...Great, really. What is your doctorate in

Thank you for visiting me. I am having a rough time being consistent and dance up and down from the same wt, been doing this for a while now. Trying to find a way to gain the right motivation for self control. There must be some click in the head that helps, I occasionally get it right for some time, but tend to lose it at others.

Anyway, I am glad to see your success and will use it for inspiration.

Hi Judi,

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! Everyone is so supportive and helpful. That sure helps me out! My doc is in Educational Leadership and, you know, I don't think I would have done as well in this last push without SBD. My eating just before staring this plan was awful! I was a total sugar freak. With SB, once I got past the SB flu, I got a lot more energy to do the mental work. Now to keep it up for the job hunt :)

I am concerned about the maintenance part of SBD. With WW, I just yoyo-ed around, eating junk for points along with salads. I felt weak. The one good point was understanding that I could have a weight range, rather than an optimal weight. Now that I have read that maintenance is the hard part, I am trying to get in gear before I hit that without the right habits established. Being on the road was messy. I don't even like Subway flatbread and that was a choice I made over and over.

So, like you, how do you get really in control of what you intake? It's up to me. A quote from one of the tribal college leaders (Dine College- Navajo Nation), Bob Roessel: "If it is to be, it is up to me." 8) 8)
