Chocolate and stress go together! It will get better when you're done with your defense. Hang in there!

pretty much - just a square of Ghiradelli 72% and 8 dark chips yesterday with ff milk as Chris suggested before - hit the spot!

yesterday
B: egg w/ cheese, carrots, 1 slice pumpernickel bread, bit of sausage sauce (on the road; it's what they had)
L: subway flatbread (not SB) w/ turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, ranch
D: gobs of green beans, turkey, and a salad w/ ranch
S: plain yogurt, sprinkle of lemon sfff jello, blueberries, 1 square G choc and 8 chips (see above), ff milk

today
B: egg w/ cheese, green beans, 1 slice pumpernickel bread, bit of sausage sauce, soy milk w/ dab of coffee

working on edits and, as my dissertation chair says, "being myself" during my defense next Tuesday. Want to keep my perspective where it belongs: on the students who have let me share their lives!

Sorry it is stressful heading into this last bit before defending your dissertation, but what an amazing accomplishment! I am positive you will ace it! Have fun and be good to yourself.

Thanks, Christin and everyone! God is good - and people, including DH and friends are so supportive. It will go well...

today:

B: egg, green beans, carrots, ff milk w/ dab of coffee flavoring
L: chili w/ cheese, salad

planned:
D: chicken, green beans, something
S: plain yogurt w/ sprinkle of lemon sfff jello, blueberries, chocolate?, ff milk and/or
S: 1/2 apple, cottage cheese, PB

yesterday had more pumpernickel bread than usual (usually only 1 slice; had 2); also had ricotta w/ my yogurt dessert: too rich and needed the bread to help me neutralize.
Or, it could be the 1/2 Subway flatbread sandwich that was too much :) So, another tummy ache this morning; skipped the cheese on the omelette: scraped it off. Eating on the road can be tricky, but trying to make it work.

Yay Friday!!!

S: ff milk, 2 Ghirardelli squares
D: chicken, green beans, sausage sauce (sounds weird, huh!), ff milk
peppermint herbal tea

can't remember if I ate anything else :)

working on my ppt for Tuesday. Let's hope Skype and telephone conference calling work well!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Tuesday!

Bananas are one of those P2 foods that's evidently conflicted - says OK on the P2 list on the boards here, but one of the books says no. I eat them all the time, with greek yogurt or npbutter.

I'm curious, what chili recipe do you use? I love chili too and can eat it every day. I got tired of my old chili recipe (it was great, from a WW cookbook) and I'm now looking for something new.

Thanks, Chris, on the banana info - good to know and a nice change from my apples. also for your well wishes :D

Play-doh, I found an easy recipe on the forum, I think. It's:

1 can kidney beans, drained (16 oz)
1 can northern beans, drained (16 oz)
1 can diced tomatoes (16 oz)
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz); you can use 2 cans if you like more sauce
browned, ground turkey; sometimes I dump in the turkey juices (97% ff, so not too bad, hopefully)
chili powder (to taste); for me, about 1t
cumin (to taste); for me, about 1/2 t

Sometimes I add Worcestershire sauce (4 shakes). I bring it to a boil and then simmer 30 minutes. I don't like too much chili powder and cumin; my chili tastes run mild without a lot of added ingredients. The taste blends and mellows after being in the frig a while. I eat chili so often - what a help having it ready :D I am thinking of adding more veggies and trying different beans.

today
B: turkey slices, carrots, veggies
L: mixed veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots), chicken, sausage sauce, ff milk w/ 1t international coffee
S: ff milk, 2 squares of 72% choc, triscuits (not too many)
D: ground turkey in salad, Ranch dsg, ff milk

S: pumpernickel bread? yogurt? apple?

yesterday I also had a slice of pumpernickel bread - yum!

One of my old WW recipes called for adding chopped zucchini to chili - tastes pretty good and not easy to detect by other family members - it kind of melts into the chili.

Good luck tomorrow!!
