Here I’m, joining the challenge. I’ve been on SB since 1/1 and lost 5lbs on P1. Now on P2 have been stalled but staying positive. Going for a 15 lbs loss. Loving the Beach lifestyle, have much more energy; feel less groggy and more alert. My sleep has improved 100% -did anybody else had this happen?-
Started a journal called Yogi on the Beach where I’ll post my daily food intake and moods, we all know how that changes!
I’m positive I’ll get over the plateau!

Sign me up please!
I started P1 about a week and a half ago and have lost 7 lbs. I know it's going to slow down in P2 so this will help my drive to keep losing! My weight as of today is 198.
I am hyperthyroid, but on meds. I just found out last weds. that I have Graves Disease and the Dr wants to destroy my thyroid.! I want to try to make as much of an improvement on my life as possible, regardless of my decision about the thyroid. I also have a grade 1 ACL strain so I am hoping that between the weight loss and muscle building around my knee will improve things enough so I don't have to have surgery! Kind of glad I found out about the Graves, it made me open my eyes about my health, and how I have been treating my body. I already feel much better eating the SBD way!

I agree, nobody here is gonna laugh. We're all in this together. Some have less to lose, some have built up their exercise time, others are just starting to lose or exercise. If we were all alike, wouldn't this be a boring world? The good thing is that each has strengths and wisdom and can encourage someone else. I hope that I can encourage somebody. It made my day when smay said I was an inspiration yesterday just because I got up the courage to post my weight. :D

Even if you're just starting to exercise, the important thing is that you're moving.

Go us!!!

I think I'm in for 15...instead of 10.

15 and I will be pretty much at my goal and with the way things are going...that should do me right!

Thanks Smay for keeping track of everyone... :D

Hello all, here I’m. Week 3 of P2. I’ve been dieting all my life and this lifestyle is the only one that I’ve felt results. You can loose weight in a lot of diets, I’ve done tons. But one that you can actually feel better, think better and sleep better are hard to come by. I’ll like to join this group and keep each other company.

I’ll like to list things that I’ vent done since I started the beach way:
1. I don’t go home and the first thing I do is open the pantry for chips and sour cream and snack on those while cooking a healthy dinner – how contraproductive! Now I pour a glass of veggie juice to keep me occupied.
2. I don’t binge on saltines w/butter (my dirty secret) I could eat an entire sleeve of saltines, now I grab 5 almonds and that satisfy me
3. I’m always working out-always so I haven’t really gained weight but haven’t lost any either. No more thinking “I’ll burn it at the gym, lets eat!” If I’ve burn fat & calories at the gym, leave them there don’t eat them again!
4. I’ve a post it on my work desk that says: Is it worth eating that? Think about it! - This keeps me from eating those nasty office snacks like cake, cookies, donuts, pastries, you know it!
5. The first thing I put on my plate is veggies or greens.
6. I write here or go “do” something when I’m sad, stressed or feeling in any way that will drive me to eat
7. Food is fuel
8. I wear a hart rate monitor @ the gym to remind me how much I had to sweat to burn 300 calories, no I think it twice before I eat a calorie dense nutritionally poor food.

I’m in a plateau now, but things will get better. 15 lbs to go.

Day 2 underway. I went out snowshoeing in this blizzard this morning and stayed out for 45minutes. Exercise is hard to me but I just gonna get up and do it and not think about it.

Hi, Everyone! Can I join? I'm in for 15 lbs!

I'm not sure what I weigh right now... I said I wouldn't weigh myself for a month, and that is tomorrow. I'll post it after my weigh in tomorrow morning.

I've spent the past 5 years fluctuating between 250-260 lbs. I was horrified to see that I weighed 265 lbs. on January 3rd, which is my highest ever. I'm 6'0 tall, and I don't think I'm ever going to get below 200 lbs. with my body frame, so realistically, I'm looking to lose around 50 lbs.

I started a running program with a local running shoe store on January 8th. There are 75 of us, and we are all doing a run/walk program to do our first 5k on March 13th. We meet every Saturday morning to run together with the coaches, and then we have a weekly program set up. I do my other run/walk workouts on Tuesday/Thursday, and then I cross train Monday/Wednesday/Friday (zumba on Mondays and the bike or elliptical on Wednesdays/Fridays). It's the hardest thing I've ever done, but it's also pretty awesome.

I've been doing all of this with my super supportive boyfriend. He's been right alongside me with the eating and running, and we have a second running goal set up for after our 5k. On June 5th, there is a 2 person relay half marathon in San Diego. I would love to be able to be running that while weighing under 250 lbs.

My real goal is to control my feelings about the scale. I want to be able to weigh in every week and not let it affect my emotions so much. I like feeling accountable to a group along with myself, so thank you all for doing this, and I wish everyone the best of luck!

Masm, nobody here laughs at anyone else or stands in judgment of each other. We are all here to support and be supported. All you find here is kindness and understanding. :D At least that has been my experience with this site. Good for you on doing your exercising! I have trouble getting in enough exercise. I actually dont like it much. I was born to be a couch potato but that wont get me healthy so out I go in the snow. Good luck to you on your journey. :D

Good for you Queenoftheu. Wow a running program. Thats great! I admire people that can do that. I have wondered about zumba. Do you like it??

Thanks Smay for keeping track of all of us. I will weigh in tomorrow. You are totally right - 10 1bs in 20 weeks is very realistic. What's the rush right? Glad we're all here together.
