Weigh-in... I'm looking at a 12 lb. challenge as of today, but the scale has always been quite bouncy for me. As long as I see a southward bounce within the next week, I'll be happy.

I've been doing poorly on water lately, so that is what I want to focus on this week, along with keeping portions in check of course! Going to the gym tonight.

Looking forward to this journey with all of you. Here's to a great 1st week!

Here we go-

142.5 this morning

20 minutes of crunches, leg lifts, and 3 lb hand weights to work on my batwings.

If I don't post any exercise tomorrow-nag me.

Well 190 for the weigh in. My goal will be to break 180.

I'm going to go out and clear the snow from my driveway. The Midwest weather decided I needed an early start on exercise! Blizzard 2011 here we come! :D

This is an awesome motivation. My bday is June 19th. What a great present.

Oh Cheffie, that WILL be a great present!!

I only went up a pound after my fiesta last night with the 15 pound burrito. I know it was 10 pounds when I posted last night, but that was before it sat in my stomach all night long. Now I know I was wrong about the size. UGH!

Anyway, my goal is to lose 11 pounds by June 21st. Obviously my greatest challenge next to portions is resisting the urge to eat out somewhere. Too bad those restaurants are EVERYWHERE out there!

If the roads aren't too horrible, tonight is my first night meeting with the personal trainer. I can't help but wonder if she is going to be a "Jillian type". ha ha "Down on that floor! Give me 32,874 push ups!"
"On that dreadmill..... slope 8, speed 12!"

I'm in. Problem is DH and I are going on vacation this month. I know I will not eat right. How's that for a defeatist attitude? Just being honest. But I will look at the summer goal and not dwell on the week we'll be gone this month and just work on it the best I can.

Starting weight February 1: 173 pounds

Oh Dene - glad you are in! I wouldn't let that week worry you too much. There are so many other weeks between now and June 21st!!

Well, Kyan, back in 2005 when I lost 50 pounds and got to my goal weight of 132, I went on vacation twice. The first time with my DD and I LOST 2 pounds and the second time with my DH and did not gain. But I was much more motivated back then. I am dealing with "beating myself up" over gaining almost all of it back, and I have to conquer that negativism and push onward, making sure I have the right mind set to keep it off as I lose it this time. I told Yello that I don't remember ever telling anyone on here how much I weighed back then, but maybe I did. So, putting my weight down on here was a big step for me. No more hiding the truth!!!

Hey, don't forget BL tonight!!!

Dene - I started the Beach 2 years ago on Valentine's Day. I was really good for a little over a year... and then last summer I was terrible. I still ate a lot of Beach-friendly meals, but I drank soda and ate pizza and chicken wings anything else I wanted. Almost every night or at least every OTHER night the boys and I would go to 7-11 and I would get a giant Coke Icee and some corn nuts or chips or beef jerky. At the end of October I weighed TWO POUNDS MORE THAN WHEN I WAS AT MY HEAVIEST PREGNANT WITH TWINS! How is THAT for embarrassing??? Something just clicked. On November 1st I threw myself totally into the Beach and started seriously exercising. That's when I started my Sunday 5Ks. BEFORE I always whined about exercising, lol.
I worked so hard.... and now I am 11 pounds from what I THINK is my goal weight. Maybe I will get there and think I should lose more... it's hard to say. (But I HIGHLY doubt it!)

You are SOOOOOO not alone! When I stepped on that scale for the first time in months and months and saw that I was heavier than I had ever been in my life (even pregnant with twins) I could have given up and just gorged myself into oblivion - and trust me - I DID think about it - as shameful as that is! But I decided I wanted this and I went for it. I doubt anyone loves food more than me... maybe as MUCH as I do...but not more! I LOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEE food. It's my passion. And I doubt many hate exercising as much as I do. If I can do it - just about anyone can! (Barring health issues!) We will do this together, Dene!!

Dene - I've never put the number down either... Thanks for some inspiration. I was 179.5 this morning.

Thanks Kyan and smay,

Feels good to have those kind words. I'd rather tell someone how old I am than how much I weigh!!! But knowing we're in this together helps tremendously!!!

BTW, I'll be 60 years old in April.

A little history first: I started sb in dec 03, at that time I was 320lbs. over the years I got to 294lbs with exercising 2hours a day/6days a week and SB. then it stopped. then the docs found something wrong with my pancreas..it produces insulin 24/7 then with OA/SB Modified/ AND MEDS I got down to 240. that is an 80lb weight loss. HOWEVER, last summer I was on hormones and some other meds that made me gain weight. I got up to 297lbs  and although I stopped those meds, I also did not have the meds I need for the pancreas which means weight gain no matter what or how small amt I eat. the doc told me it was not about the food. this added weight is taking a long long time to get back off. So with all that said, and my meds in check now...

I weighed in today and got my starting weight...290Lbs  will post ups and down honestly. I really feel like giving up..but I am here and I am committed so, I will not give up, I will restart this darn weight loss! grrr. lol

I am committing to 3 days of exercise a week. for now it is light exercise some in a chair because I am having issues and have been told to not exercise. when I dance, it is light dancing..some in a chair moving arms and legs.

so, yes I am weird. lets just put that out there.
I do not eat strictly SB I am a celiac so no wheat at all. so I do eat corn and once in a while sweet potatoes. Telling you this so if you come to my journal and see corn tortilla you don't tell me that is not SB. I know that. :) and I don't want anyone to come to my journal and get confused. So, if something seems off ask me.

HUGS ALL :D

Ok, weekly weigh in 163.6 and a goal of 153 by June 23rd, totally doable, although I do have some challenges along the way. We have a big trip coming up on the 21st of this month (taking youngest ds to his residential facility in Idaho) so we'll be in a hotel for 5 days and major emotional stuff going on, but dh will be there with me and he's working on his own SB challenge, so hopefully we can support each other in making good choices.

Hello Beachy People,
I started SB on January 1st and lost 5 lbs on P1. Now two weeks on P2, a little of a plateau but trying to stay positive. Will start a journal too see how I’m dong in writing. My goal is to loose 15lbs.
Question:
Do we count the lbs we lost before Feb 1st or start fresh?

Did I mentioned that even though the weight has been still, I do feel great!

Welcome mcollazomart!

The challenge started today, and the goal is to lose 10 lb. by June 21st, starting today! We will do weigh-in's on Tuesday's and post our progress, and just try to support each other as best as we can!

Plateauing right when you start P2 is quite common. Remember to slowly add back in your starches and fruits! There are a bunch of helpful "sticky" threads in the P2 section as well!
