Raisens are leftovers from 3 year old twins visit .I hear you on the gateway foods though,,, bread does that for me, most wheat products really. I get started and I don't stop. Rice not so much.
The dreaded bedtime snack ( Which I don't seem EVER to give up ) is the ever present land mine for me, so I I try to have something satisfying but at the ready
Wednesday

B egg/ beanX2
S sardines
D Boca burger on big bagel, 2 bowls cabbage soup
S chocolate yogurt smoothy
Sup 3 rice cakes w/ dill yocheese, bowl cabbage soup

no exercise
water only so-so

One would think that after so many years ( actually started in 03 or 04 ) of walking this beach that I would just DO it but it seems that i need to be constantly watchful.....
big appetite + boredom = chubby gran
I do know that I am not consuming too much if I would get off my butt.

Just a quick "hi". I'm trying to restart with a week of Phase 1 so I can start Phase 2 during Thanksgiving week. Probably a stupid move, but I really feel the need to detox for a while. I've been so bad the past few months - too much bread and candy lately. My son works for a bakery and gets a loaf of free crusty fresh bread every day. I need to not even look at it!!

So do I, Ky! But I'm determined to get on track and seem to have kicked my cravings this week. I've been too busy to check in here much, but will keep peeking. Maybe even join the Christmas challenge!

164.2 Tuesday am
Yep still struggling and avoiding the journal so I can continue with this self defeating behavior.........
I tend to be a stress eater.......
my life is a cakewalk compared to many others here, so I am not going to whine, but stress is stress
However, I am working at less destructive stress relievers..walking., etc .....making plans for more constructive activities.
Last 3 days mostly SB............
more exercise
stocked the fridge with some old favorite SB foods
Thanks Ky, LBMom and Chris......You are what makes this work for me (eventually  )

I will be spending today prepping for Thanksgiving dinner, somehow when I spend more time cooking I do better with this woe.
Something about the cooking satisfies my cravings

Good morning Lakegran,

I havent really stopped by your page and left any comments but ive read through your journal several times. Its very rough during the holidays for people to stay beachy and the forums as you noticed become dead quiet. Last year around this time the forum went from bustling to not many people at all around. It'll pick up for 2 weeks in december then drop off til the first of the year and become flooded with people. Im happy to see you're taking accountability for yourself and becoming stronger each time :D

The forums are a great place for motivation and if not for them i would of fallen off the beach a long time ago i believe. I too am a stress eater so i know how that is, the biggest challenges are usually the weekends. During the week its easy to plan out your meals, cook them ahead of time ect. The weekend isnt even close to being as easy considering its when you feel like its time to let loose and do what ya want. At least thats how i feel. After my surgery and going back to the beach ive been experiencing cravings and have slipped once or twice but trying to conquer the cravings ive been having. If its not possible ill go back to phase 1 for a week or two and go from there. Stay strong =D

As for cooking dinner, you're lucky on that regard, when im cooking yummy things i want them even more, but eventually am satisfied that everyone else at least enjoyed them. Happy thanksgiving! Hope you have a great one!

Oh, I am jealous!! If I cook it, I want it. Badly. Case in point, made fresh cinnamon rolls for my daughter's snack feast at school yesterday.....But I can personally attest that they turned out good!  Have fun with your family tomorrow!

Have a happy turkey day, lakegran! We have snow - about 4-5". First White Thanksgiving I remember, LOL! I'm not even bothering to think about posting what I'm eating. Back on track Monday after DS goes back to college and all the leftovers are gone!

Enjoy!

Happy thanksgiving all you beach buddies

OHHH ladybug I have to confess that ........If it is bread I WILL eat it and lots of it
but I try to keep bread out of the house altogether, especially after a long sb 'vacation' .
When I first retired I received a bread machine as a gift... yoiks!!!!!!!!! I was making all sorts of breads 3 times a week and finishing off 1/2 a loaf while it was still warm.......I have since passed that thing along to my veggie son.

Today will not be a true SB day but the menu will have include ww dressing lots of good veggie dishes and a sugar free pumpkin cheesecake. ( for my diabetic grandson.)

Wednesday
egg/beans
green salad w/ chicken and hb egg , rice cake
yogurt w honey
burger on ww bread w faux potato salad . blackberries w sf coolwhip
prunes and more yogurt

Walked
water not good

I have the bird in the oven and cheesecake in the fridge,,,,
those will be my contributions for dinner
also I will make the gravy 8)
