Yay Bodypump! Got my class in and felt good today, I was so wiped out last week I really didn't enjoy it but today was good :)

Today's menu (too much bread! got caught short in work and had to buy lunch on the hop)
B: oatmeal, blueberries, lf yoghurt
S: light babybel, apple
L: (part one) the middle bit of a egg mayo and spring onion sandwich
L: (part two) the middle bit of a tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich, two cheese sticks
D: spoon of pb (while I was cooking!), then salmon, pesto, tomato, courgette and mushrooms

Moral of the story? Get up earlier and make sure you have time to make your lunch cos if you can't pop home to make it cos work kicks off, you have to make do! I guess it wasn't that bad really, the servings may have been a little over but it was still only three starchy carb servings for the day.

Have to say I am feeling SO liberated this week - I have stuck to my agreement with myself and have not gotten on the scales since Friday! There is a great freedom in not compulsively following that routine where I get out of bed every morning, go to the toilet, make sure I'm not wearing anything too heavy and then fire up the Wii Fit to get weighed before I can even have a sip of water! I know that I will check on Friday cos that's what I do, but that's ok :)

This Friday night I am going to Cardiff to see Eddie Izzard perform, which is greatly exciting for me as I have wanted to see him for about 10 years!! Then Saturday I will have to borrow my South Beach book off whoever is borrowing it at the moment to find out what I can eat at the Indian restaurant we are going to with some old work colleagues of mine. If I remember, things like dhal were on the list and as I eat mainly veggie with some fish that will suit me fine. The real temptation will be the poppadoms and pilau rice!

Hey Cat! Just checking in and seeing you're still on task. Great job, by the way!

I've never eaten at an Indian restaurant. When you get back, explain to me what you've had, will ya?

Way to hold off the scale! I am soo proud of you!

Yay for resisting the weigh in temptation!! And, your planned weekend sounds so FUN. I wish we had more ethnic restaurants around here, Indian food sounds so yummy! But, Fairbanks isn't exactly a mecca for exotic food, hehe. My weekend will be grocery shopping on Saturday, followed by a run to the dump to clean out my trashcans. If it snows we'll have to use the snow blower sometime, and if I really want an exciting time I might scrub a couple toilets! Can we switch weekends please :P

In Britain there are Indian restaurants everywhere! There are two within 50 yards of where I live, plus two Chinese takeaways, a chip shop and a kebab shop and about four cafes. Unfortunately I will not be going for an Indian meal after all as the organiser of our evening out couldn't book the table :( ah well, less padding for my bum and tum I suppose!

No exercise yesterday but a good menu, the usual with two glasses of wine added on at the end of the day :)

Tonight I am going to step class!

I used to live just outside London, Ches and I remember all the Indian restaurants and fish and chip shops (my fav!!). I haven't had Indian since I started SB and I think it might be a challenge. The naan is what always gets to me!! I love bodypump and step classes. We have those here and they're so much fun! Have a great weekend.

Hi Beaching It! Yes, you certainly wouldn't go hungry here with all those restaurants in walking distance, London is a great example of it! Whereabouts did you live? I lived on the outskirts for a while, Uxbridge/Ruislip area.

Had a great step class but it wasn't enough to undo the Halloween damage I'm afraid, 1lb on this week  I am just glad I stuck to my guns and didn't get on the scales this week, can you imagine how bad it might have been last weekend?? Gosh.
Didn't have a ood day yesterday menu-wise, we went to see a show and ended up picking up a Burger King on the way home, ate a veggie burger without the bun, about half of my fries and also some chili cheese bites, all bad! My lunch was bad too yesterday, don't know what was wrong with me but I'm glad now we're not going out for dinner tonight. I have plans to eat well today and have a few glasses of wine tonight, the weather is so wet it's a comfort to think about staying in!

Have a good weekend all! xx

Well I have to fess up, I am finding that I am slipping on the weekend :/ I eat well all week but I seem to find it harder on the weekend! Yesterday's food was alright for most of the day, and then last night I felt really hungry and ended up eating a big bag of crisps! A lot to do with the wine probably :D df needs to eat the food he brings home instead of saying I can have it if I want :D (I will blame him!)

No, seriously I do need to get myself into the routine of eating properly on the weekends as well.

My nan is coming to stay with my mum for two weeks and she arrives this afternoon, it will be nice to have her nearby :) hopefully I will get some good pics of us all together.

Hey Ches, that's a bad habit to slip into, going off on the weekends. I think once you're at goal it could be okay to maintain, but not if you're trying to lose. It's hard on the weekends for me because I'm with the kids and DH running all over the place... I have to make changes too!

I was born in Strood, Kent and lived in Chatham for a while. All my Mom's family live in London (Kings Cross/Islington areas) so we always have places to stay when we go back which is fantastic!

Have a great time with your Mom and Nan!!

Hi Cat!

Thanks for dropping by my journal! Always good to see you there! Let's see, "volleyball"... well, I am moving, nothing structured or timed yet, but I am moving. It's a start. Turned out my DGD didn't have the flu after all, looks like it might have been something she ate (not here! :)) So, we're still dodging the sickness! Yay!

I know how you feel about SB and the weekends. I feel like I'm on top of it all week and we've been programed to think we get weekends off. Who thought of that~!? I'm not sure what my plan is going to be before next weekend, but I'm determined to have one! I can't wait until SB is just an automatic way of eating and doesn't take so much thought and effort!

I can't wait to see pics of you, your Nan (aunt?) and Mum (I know this one! :)). Make tomorrow a beachy day!

Hi Chessie Pooh! Stopping in for a spot of starbucks skinny iced hazelnut latte w/ 3 equals so brought you a latte 8)

Looks like you're staying the course on the exercise and food. I do, however, had a different thought than others on the weekend eating. What I've done is designated one day to allow a "treat" and that's it. It is my thought that if you don't allow yourself this day, your mind begins to play tricks on you then you go off course feeling you are depriving yourself of certain foods. Not saying lose your damn mind on this day but allowing yourself a reward, if you will. I'd polled the forum on changing my weigh in day to Friday for this very reason. Friday=wine and Saturday=treat. What would happen is that even though I exercise on Sunday, I'd weigh heavy on Monday and then several lbs down Tuesday. Felt this was due to my treat day and today was my first Friday weigh in and I'm down this week (last weigh in 11.2.09). Not an expert in this by no means but how I roll now so wanted to pass my thoughts on to you as it has been working for me :?

Hoping this finds you well and that you're ready for the weekend. Happy Friday and thinking of you. All my love, Smoochezz

Thanks for your thoughts mrsg :) I am liking the inclusion of the wine evening!

My diet has been mainly south beach this week with a few extremely non-beachy additions :o I have no idea what I weigh today and I'm not sure I want to know! The truth is that my dear df was laid off this week and we will be packing up, putting our things into storage and going to camp out in my mum's box room until things get better. It has affected my eating but I'm trying to keep up with my exercise at least twice a week, and funnily enough my eating is still mainly beachy because I like the food! lol It will all turn out alright I'm sure, but it has been difficult to be bothered making proper food for myself when I should be. Just calling in to explain my absence for the moment, I may not have the time to post here for a little while but will be thinking of you all, sending my love and cheering you on just as much as if I were here in person :) love you all dearly xxx

Hello love. So sad to finally spend a few minutes catching up on your life and find you're living at mum's. So sorry and yet, I see you using this time of strange circumstances to shine off the new you, the new habits you've formed and the new physical you which CAN remain in place through the worst of times. No resurrecting old habits that will cause more stress....you'll need all the stamina you can muster; crisps and the lot will NOT get you there :) That healthy fear of the old me being brought back from the dead is what keeps me on track in the worst of my emotional 'stuff.' Let that same fear do that for you too! I love you, will pray hard that you'll re-form your SB plans to work in the present situation and show yourself just how tough a woman you are!!! I'll ck in from Ohio when I can and hope to hear good news. Trusting and believing w/big hugs thrown in for good measure, Gramma

Ah Cat,

It's all just another adventure, eh? Don't ever forget, you get to choose what's going into your mouth, toots! I can relate a bit to your situation, though I have moved in with my daughter rather than my mother. I'm looking at it as a springboard to what's next. Besides, MOST of the people in the world live in multigenerational homes. I'm going to enjoy the adventure and I hope you do too!

Will be thinking of you!
