LOL!!!

The show motivates me, too. I get up at every commercial and clean the kitchen or rest of the house. They have commercials so often, my house gets really clean! That's actually an excellent idea to put your machine in front of the TV!

Last night my twins said they were NOT watching Biggest Loser with me. I told them "Fine!" Guess what - they both came in and watched the entire show. It's like eating potato chips - it CAN be addicting!

I will predict here and now that one of those big guys is going to win. Also - am I getting too used to the show, or are the women less heavy this season? I thought you had to be more than 100 pounds overweight to be on the show, but although any of the ladies COULD lose 100 pounds I don't think some of them had MORE than 100 to use. ALSO - in the past, didn't all of the women lose pretty well during the first week? I thought the weeks of losing only 4 pounds... 5 pounds... 6 pounds... came later in the season? The first weeks were like 10 pounds and 12 pounds. They are going to MISS Jillian! I know I do!

And while I am thinking of it - that one who went home sure didn't lose very much weight at home!

Yeah I know, one lady was starting at 230 something and I was like HEY WTF!??? It was a bit to close for comfort. I started last spring at 233. I mean it's nice they're helping people out like me, but there are people who need the help much more and are in life threatening circumstances. I guess I just thought it was geared more towards morbidly obese not just well...fat. :) Either way I hope it's a good season. I LOVE this show.

okay, watched tonight. I always get tickled at the beginning because the contestants come in all "haha, this is fun" and I KNOW what's coming...and then they go to their first work out and start bawling and carrying on like crazy. Not saying I wouldn't do that, too, but it just makes me chuckle, knowing what's coming.

I'm glad Debbie went home. She didn't have her heart in it as far as I'm concerned, and that was just uncalled for to call Bonnie on crying. Yes, they all cry alot, but when you think what they've been through and how embarrassing this is for them and what it means to them to make it to the show, I think it's got to be an emotional experience. I say cry if you have to, but keep working! I sure would hate to have people watch me struggle to work out and then get weighed in front of America in a sports bra!!!

I like Becky's determination in spite of losing her Dad the first week, but I agree it's too early to pick a favorite.

I also agree that the contestants don't seem to be as heavy as in the past. So far I think Anna has a good heart and Dolvett knows how to push, but do they have what it takes as an all around trainer to get the job done considering it's not just weight, it's nutrition, training, emotional baggage and all wrapped into it? We'll see. I know I would have pushed for Bob. Sure do miss Jillian.

just watched this week's last night. Coach Mike did a fantastic job and he deserved the tickets. What's with the Red Team not losing much, I wonder?

Good question, Dene! Is it the coach? Their diet? Which age group is the red? Middle? You can tell that their coach really cares and is invested... you just have to wonder if the workouts are effective!

Don't they have the weirdest challenges? The maze in the middle of the pool? lol

Oh - and I wouldn't have been tempted by those little donuts at all. Bring on the CHOCOLATE SPRINKLE donuts and we'll talk!!

I'm with ya on the chocolate donuts and sprinkles! I don't know what the deal is with the Red Team. Maybe they'll pick up the pace this week. I don't remember them addressing their diets so far, so maybe that's part of it. I think Red Team is the youngest, isn't it? Yes, that challenge in the middle of the pool was very unique. Hard on Bonnie cause she couldn't move that fast!

Watched this week's BL last night. What a crazy thing,,,to send one home with trainer and leave the others to fend for themselves. Not sure if I think that's a good idea or not, overall. Anyway, I am getting tired of Bonnie. On one hand she talks like she never gives up, she doesn't feel sorry for herself...blah, blah. But then all she does is whine that Anna plays favorites and that she needs praise herself. I think Bonnie has had it rough, but seems that she's used to getting petted and doesn't like Anna showing tough love. Good for Bob to defend Anna and put it out there...we're here to help them, not be their friends. Bonnie wants Anna's attention, but she prickles ever time Anna tries to push her to do more.

I feel a tender spot for Vinny. He did well to recognize that he's always used humor to cover up his hurts, and Dolvett called him on it. Now I see a new determination in Vinny, and I hope he keeps it up. Wow, the previews for next week show a budding romance and a 5 pound weight gain. My husband and I think we know who it will be from the preview. If we're right, it's going to be a shocker to people.

Well, I feel like I'm talking to myself, here. Ky, where are you???

My thoughts on this week's BL. I thought the maze was great. I was sweating it at the end, but they did it. Proud that none fell for the candy temptation. That would have been hard for me. Loved the practical joke on Bob. Couldn't believe the numbers this week. Glad Jen went home. I think they were probably right about her negative vibes affecting everyone. She's turned into a Bob-stalker! Think it's sweet that Jessica and Ramon like each other, but I wonder if it will last back in the real world??? Impressed with Vinny on the treadmill. Still think Bonnie is a drama queen and loves attention.

Ky, where are you?????

Oh Dene, I am SO SORRY! I didn't mean to abandon you - First I was dealing with my kitty and missed the show, and then last week it was my son! I need to watch the shows I missed on my computer, but I hate to watch on my computer because it lags so badly! I will DEFINITELY watch it tonight and come chat tomorrow about it! I agree with you about Bonnie!!

What do you think of the two other trainers (other than Bob)? Do you think they are as good at weight loss and fitness as Bob is?

OK, Tuesday's show was a shocker! First they made people change teams and trainers, and then Bonnie DIDN'T go home but Jessica DID!!! And what about that challenge? Gigantic slip-n-slides! Freaking FUN I tell ya!!! I also loved the part where they showed everyone's favorite foods and they had to guess the calories. OMG unbelievable! Mexican food is ...
T H E W O R S T !!! And I make it even worse (if possible) because I love tons of sour cream and guacamole and cheese! MMMMMM!!! I found this on the net and thought it was very interesting!!

***********************************

During "The Biggest Loser" on Tuesday night, a startling number of fans tweeted the following observation (I'm paraphrasing):

Ramon keeps telling Jessica he loves her, but she never says it back. Hmmmmm.

Hopefully, the following excerpt from Jessica's exit interview will put an end to any speculation that Season 12's ranch romance -- which is still going on, by the way -- is not a two-way street.

I asked Jess what it was like to watch Ramon call her the "love of my life" and "the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with" on national TV.

"You know, it's crazy," she said. "It's very hard to take, because I've said from the very beginning, I'm a very private person and a lot of the stuff is hard to share. But on the flip side, we met on the show, and it makes sense, and that's why we wanted to share it with people, because I think it gives people hope that once you feel good about yourself, you can do this [fall in love.]

"It's very strange, and it's very weird to me when he says 'I love you' on TV, but it's very real, and I hope people can see that. And I'm O.K. with it. At first I was like, 'Oh my God! Did he really just do that?' But at the same time I'm like, you know, I love him too, and I want everybody to know just like he does, and we're O.K. with it."

Believe it or not, Jess, who has lost 69 pounds since starting on the show at 254, was also O.K. with being eliminated in Week 7.

She said she knew she was a victim of strategy, and she's even forgiven Joe, whom she calls her "ranch dad," for sending her home and separating her from her man.

Jess and Ramon have since reunited in Los Angeles, where Jess moved to take a job in health care. They've been training together for the Dec. 13 finale.

"If I'm on the other side of the bench, and I had to vote for somebody else or, in this case, Bonnie, I would have done the same thing," said Jess, a native of Pittsburgh. "You've got to protect yourself now, at this stage of the game, and you want to get the bigger competitors out because you know you can beat the other ones, so you know you're a little bit stronger.

"So I totally understood that. I mean, it really stunk that I was the one who had to go home, but to be going home as a threat, as a big competitor, I'm O.K. with that. I'd rather do that than go home because I was weak or annoying or they just didn't like me."

If you were expecting me to transition into a comment about Bonnie, I hate to disappoint you. But since Jess said she is close friends with everyone's least-favorite contestant, and this is Jess' story, I'm going to respect her friendship and stay quiet.

Speaking of quiet, did you know Jess was dealing with a pretty serious injury for much of her time on the ranch? You might have noticed she was wearing braces on her knees.

The official diagnosis was a stress fracture in her left knee, and Dr. Huizenga told her at one point that she shouldn't even be walking. But we never saw that on the show.

That's because Jess refused to make an issue of it.

"I didn't want the whole show to turn into another avenue of injuries," said Jess, whose job as a nurse requires a lot of time spent on her feet. "I kind of wanted it to be a representation of, 'Obviously Jess has something wrong with her knee or she wouldn't be wearing braces, but she's overcoming it and she's not using that as a crutch and she's not using that as a focus.'

"I wanted that to be prevalent in the sense that, I used to cry [before the show], 'Oh my legs hurt or my feet hurt, and I can't do this.' But now I'm like, 'All right. Throw some bandages on me, and let's go, because I'm ready!' That's the avenue I was trying to take."

Unfortunately, training for "The Biggest Loser" marathon -- which already happened, but we'll just continue to pretend it didn't -- caused Jess to reaggravate her injury. She said her finale training consists of a lot of bike riding.

She's determined to make the best of her situation.

"I live by Dolvett's saying, 'Hard work and dedication,' every day of my life," she said. "And I take him with me every day, and that's what pushes me to be a little bit stronger and a little bit more focused every day."

Of course, Jess also draws a lot of strength from her relationship with Ramon.

As you recall, after the romance was revealed at the Week 6 weigh-in, trainer Anna Kournikova warned the so-called "lovebirds" not to let their feelings for each other get in the way of their weight-loss goals.

Jess and Ramon were a little offended by Anna's comments at first, and in subsequent interviews, both have stressed how they constantly push and motivate each other, rather than hold each other back. Jess said Wednesday that "I'm his Dolvett; he's my Dolvett," which is just about the cutest thing I've heard this week.

That said, after she was eliminated, Jess gave a very angry Ramon some rather Anna-eque advice.

"Normally, you do not talk to other contestants once you're voted off, but we were pretty upset, so they made a little exception for us," Jess said. "It was more of a motivational talk between us. You can see on TV that we love each other...but when we were talking privately, it was, 'You need to stay motivated,' and he reminded me of what was at stake, and that I needed to go home and work my butt off for this marathon, and I reminded him that, 'I might not be here, but I'm in your head, and you better be kicking Sunny and Joe's butt.' So it was more of a motivational talk than anything."

Let's hope he took the talk to heart and doesn't do anything rash in next week's episode to get even for Jess' elimination. Not that we wouldn't understand if he started a rumble.

Thanks for posting that info on Jessica. I felt like she is more private than Ramon, who just lets it all hang out, so maybe that explains why she isn't as vocal about their relationship as he is. That was quite a mature way of looking at the vote. She got it. It was a strategic move and nothing personal. Me, I would have voted Bonnie off just because she irritates the fool out of me. She lost 7 pounds and acted like Dolvett was responsible, but she lost 7 with Anna, too, and all she did was complain about Anna. She just likes to be petted.

Yes, I thought the calorie guessing was great. I think it really opened some eyes! Didn't you just groan when Bonnie went down the slip and slide and then got all teary because she made it? It was downhill for crying out loud.

I was glad they changed up trainers. These people are soooo dependent on their trainers. Hate to tell them, but.....you can't take them home with you, guys! Anna was right, you have to look inward and get your strength from yourself and quit depending on a trainer. I liked Anna a wee bit more this week. Up to now I've not been too impressed, but I know alot of that has to do with editing of the show. I think alot of them saw that it doesn't depend on the trainer, it depends on what you put into it yourself. I never heard so much whining in my life as they were doing in the first part of the show. Wah, wah, wah!

I, too, hope Ramon hangs in there and is mature enough to accept that voting Jess off wasn't a slam on him. Jess looked great in her after pictures, and Ramon just needs to focus on what his job is right now.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this. I SOOO agree! I thought she had gotten hurt or something, the way she was crying - and then they did the commercial break and came back to the same scene and I was thinking, "HOW in the world did she get HURT?" Just to find out she's crying because she caught a water current and made it to the end. Oh for pete's sake! It doesn't take a skinny person to slide downhill, just like you said!
